I was having the warning about the key battery needing replacement turned out the coins I had stashed in my centre console where your key is supposed to sit while driving was blocking the signal from this receiver unit to the key...keep my coins in small bag under armrest problem solved !!!

They were both standard or options all over Europe and GB but because of emissions in ireland and the extra drain on the battery they were not available in ireland but that might have changed since I got mine...are you purchasing from a skoda dealer they are normally well informed...as you can see i changed mine a little since getting it ...maxton kit and a few badges added 👌

Sure you can't wait for new car...I always spec canton in my cars but it was not an option also electric tailgate was not possible to select...I did spec dynamic chassis control...electric alcantara seats...phone wireless charger....front and rear parking sensors...just have software updates done all seams better...getting new boot bump stops fitted tomorrow boot rattled from day 1...despite the glitches i love the car...best of luck with yours cheers

This is from Octavia new brochure...I would not have an octavia VRS without DCC its brilliant... works so well in my different driving environments cheers

Personal i think the image quality in the mk3.5 reverse camera was far superior then the mk4 also the parking sensors were much better in the mk3.5 might be something to do with their position in the bumper...cheers

Depending on what type of driving you do city ramps.. country backroads... motorway cruising...personally I wouldn't be without DCC...It works brilliantly for me cheers !!!

When you are taking the wheels off to clean them 🤣🤣🤣 its just 3 screws and a push clip easy to remove 😉

€30 for front and back in Dublin main dealer!!!

So I thought it best to modify the mud flaps as they are cheap..I had the kit fitted by a local bodyshop he said the rear and side skirts were simple glue and screw but there was a bit more fiddling around with lip but glue and screwed also and no problem with fit around undertray it can still screw off for servicing 👍 my advice get someone that is a professional body fitter to do it cheers 🍻

Hope all is well...just wondering if anyone has fitted 20"alloys to their mk4 VRS...if so what fits without any rubbing issues...currently the wheels are 7.5 19s with ET48 With 225 40 19 tyres...I have received information that recommended 8.5 20 ET45 with 225 35 20 or 245 30 20 but would like a little more side wall somethings like 245 35 20 but what ET would work with no rubbing problems...any help would be great cheers.

Main dealer are cheap and will get correct part number...my dealer fitted them for free but I had to modify them to fit maxton V1 kit cheers

Don't shoot the messenger !!! When I picked up my VRS earlier in the year I wanted to spec canton, electric boot opening and a few other things but because it increases the draw on the battery thus increases emissions....what i do not understand is my road tax is €280 with 149 emissions but my 172 VRS had 142 emissions and was €390 don't figure....my thinking would be if I spec more equipment and increase the emissions and I go into a higher tax bracket I am willing to pay the tax premium to get the car I wanted...rant over !!!

Canton is not available to spec in ireland because of new emission laws !!!

DCC is a brilliant option especially if you live in a city with speed ramps, bus cushions and different driving conditions...I use it all the time...best of luck with new car 👍
