Guess what, my local ASDA now has full shelves of Mobil, but i do not think it will fly off the shelves any more ,The Buggers have put the price back to £32.
-
Not a bad price from a Stealer, what make is it, Skoda's own or one of the major oil companies.
-
For cost ,ease of application and finish you cannot go wrong with Autoglym.
-
Went into my local ASDA at tea time to buy some more,Sold out of MOBIL ,But the price was still £16 on the shelf strip.
-
It is VW spec 504.00/507.00 and 5ltrs, not 4 what you get at Halfrauds.
-
For anybody who changes their own oil get down to ASDA pronto, They have a promotion on MOBIL 1 ESP 5/30, selling for £16.00 for 5lts and £4.25 for 1 ltr.
-
Do you remember a German make of filters called KNECKT,not sure about the spelling,They were taken over by MAHLE.
-
Get yourself down to your local ASDA, You will be able to buy MOBIL 1 ESP 5w/30 vw spec 507.00 for£32.00 for 5ltrs.
-
I would say that experience and reputation counts for a lot, They make filters for the VAG group and they are manufactured in Austria, not China.
-
I think it will look like a boy racers if you do.
-
I see OPIE OILS have a promotion on MAHLE filters, I did not realise they sold MAHLE till i got a email off them, best filters i have used.
-
I have not seen chrome fittings, where can you buy them from.
-
My mate at work has a 02 plate passat sport which has a carbon effect finish, looks very smart on black door cards, I wonder how much they cost from VAG ?.
-
You need a oil that meets VW spec 507.00, Get yourself down to you local ASDA, they sell MOBIL 1 ESP 5/30 5ltr for £32.00 which is one of the cheapest prices around for a quality oil,not sure how much they charge for a LTR.
-
Try ASDA, they had Mobil ESP 1 5/30 vw 507.00 spec for £32.00, you will be lucky to get it cheaper, As for the oil filter go to your local factors and pick up a european made filter such as FRAM or MANN for about £5 or £6 quid. Make sure the filter has the 2 rubber "O" rings in the box, Last time i went snooping around Halfrauds, They were charging almost a tenner.

I think the estate looks a lot better than the saloon,Smashing colour, and the picture of the dog is SUPERB, reminds me of the nasty little bugger from MAD MAX 2.

seeking help - oil pump failure issue on 2.0TDi
roman.w replied to Top banana's topic in Skoda Superb Mk I (2001-2008)
Top tip that has worked for me, If you open the bonnet and look to your right from the offside wing ,there is a gap where you can see the plenum chamber, I spray Gunk down there avoiding the Servo and leave to soak for 20 min, I then rinse off with hot water. When i got round to moving the battery, The rubber bungs were clean as a cats arse. -
I use HAYNES Manual no 4279 which covers the passat from Dec 2000 to May2005, If the oil is not going to be in long i would use the cheapest 5/30 oil i could get hold of.
