  1. have you specifically ruled out the wheel having a different offset? That would prob be the easiest change for the factory to implement..?
  2. What?!? when did this change? Any more info? Obviously i never break the speed limit so it's only for info..
  3. agree it's a pretty pointless piece of tech. audis a few years back had just a simple alert after 2 hrs (iirc) solid driving- that made more sense in my view that trying to analyse your style. as has been said you might need sudden steering input to avoid road debris / other cars ditto braking - its a bit of a stretch to assume that these are merely due to tiredness. if i could turn mine off i would.
  4. has to be something wrong with the seat surely? I did 100k miles in both of my mk2 vRS's and i'm now 40k miles in to mk3 ownership (vrs 230) and i find the seats very comfortable, and not much different to the mk2 tbh. Can you get a ride in someone elses car to see if its just the seat in yours that maybe has a problem? other than that, rather than ditch the car id be included to put some recaros in there - keep your oem seats to re-fit when you sell the car. Alex @ AKS has fitted some vag origin sportster cs to his mk3 - look great and i've always found recaros to be awesome. not cheap but if you buy them used you'll almost certainly get your money back when you're done with them.
  5. don't spill any wheel cleaner on them or they'll go dull / pink. Just warm soapy water and a soft brush.
  6. Alex @ AKS has revo 19 in black on a race blue mk3 vrs: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag216/AKSTuning/vwaudi130816%201127_zpsslbttaf8.jpg&key=d4f6a403fb77e9debae6da9bddfad3e9a0981111294fc7bad55e282ebeba7b5e
  7. Yes, BIK it's my company car. Close on 500 per month incl the fuel.
  8. its definitely an "eye-of-the-beholder" thing, but i guess where i'm coming from is the vRS is a bit boring visually which belies it's performance. I can see that's an attraction to some and i've been very happy with mine (all 3 of them) but i guess i'm just hankering after a change and something a bit more exciting. I'm not usually a fan of shouty cars but maybe i have a mid-life crisis creeping up on me? 3 part exhaust is all function apparently, reduces boom at motorway speeds.. .. and, er.. 'cos like an F40 innit.
  9. Nice list, but i don't think you should be allowed to count baby cars and oil burners
  10. Thanks for posting that - useful info & pics. TBH the fl face is growing on me - and the 245 even looks good in red as this sets off the gloss black stuff. Still sits about 25-30mm too high though, as with all skoda products... I'd pretty much rules out a 245 as my next car when i first saw the ugly lights, but having priced up a golf R wagon, cupra wagon, civic type r via my company scheme i think its more and more likely that the replacement to my 230 will be a 245. If so it'll be the 4th vrs in a row
  11. wow - that's quite an offer (almost worth signing up lol). No i'm not forces. .. just that i'm currently on my third vrs (a 230), and prob halfway through my tenure with the one, would love a 245 but i'm also getting really peaved as to how much f**ing car tax i'm now paying, so might need to go for something more tax efficient next time. Boo.
  12. i've had my oem bars for several years and they are holding up great (think they might be made by thule) but if i was in the market i'd check out the whispbars - they look cool and more aerodynamic than the skoda items. box - i have thule atlantis. bike carriers - thule proride. You can't go wrong with thule imo. Roof box by Rob E, on Flickr
  13. swindon-ish you need to be very careful if you're going to chase a vrs - they are used by local coppers as unmarked cars
  14. yep, agree anthracite looks pants against meteor grey - they need to be black. If mine weren't black already i'd get them painted.
  15. sorry to hear this isn't fixed yet. have you tried just driving the crap out of it? sometimes a good hard pasting is all that is required (it'll either fix it or break it..) i'm off to monaco for the weekend in my 230 - guessing somewhere around 1800 miles over a long weekend - we may be driving it quite quickly from time to time.. poss need new boots when we get back
  16. The facelift is meant to have a wider track, right? Really can see any difference in this video. Am i missing something? The relationship between the wheel and the arch looks un-changed from the pre-facelift cars? :-/
  17. better dampers, stiffer bushes and the addition of some camber will all help reduce this - i'd pretty much eliminated this on my old mk2 with those mods. other (cheaper!) option is to be less brutal when you put your foot down and feed the power in progressively
  18. quality of replica wheels can vary significantly - might not be a good choice for winters if they are made of cheese like some..
  19. mine has 28k miles on it now and is one year and one week old.. it's needed litre of oil pretty much every 7-8k miles. whilst this is more than the last vrs (a mk2) its within the spec that vw/skoda quotes and nothing to worry about IMHO. the first vrs i had, also a mk2, used oil like this too but the GTI before that didn't - just down to each engine i think.
  20. need to do mine - prob do it this evening if the sun is still shining when i get in. tbh the goodyear ultragrip8 winters are still working fine at these warm temperatures, they don't feel compromised at all (mine are 18"s though so i don't have quite the same fat sidewall ..) btw - you need to change your sig ^
  21. feathers? sorry i don't understand. btw - i remembered after i posted, that controller ended up being the wrong type - suggest do a scan of your own car first to see what type you have, that should help you get the right replacement.
  22. http://skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product&prod=365&menu=Škoda|Octavia II(A5) facelift|Volanty mine needed the loom too: http://skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product&prod=182&menu=Škoda|Superb II .. and new controller: http://skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product&prod=427&menu=Volkswagen HTH.
