  1. I have a pair of lenses but at £5.99 each posted you might as well go with Boroskoda
  2. Any comparison between non-comparables is ridiculous......you can't buy a decent Rolex for the price of this Rapid and yet the Rapid will tell the time just as well and is much bigger. The Rapid is therefore a bargain! I guess a £20k Ford Escort would seem even worse value for money compared to a Fabia.
  3. I think it is over priced but comparing it to a new Fabia is ridiculous...a new Fabia is just another modern hatch that blends into traffic. This will stand out and if looked after in 3 years time will be appreciating (although probably not if you buy it at the price they want!) while the new Fabia will have lost nearly 50% of its value.
  4. I wouldn't go mad on the coil chopping! On my old 105 I took 1.5 front coils out This - To this (the wheels changed too, I know, and the tyres are smaller on the minilites too)
  5. If you just want to 'even up' the stance of the car its simple to chop a coil out of the front springs and smooth the ends off.....works a treat and won't come with any real issues, although obviously the front will be about an inch lower. From my experience of Rapid/Estelle lowering springs that are too soft and fail to improve the handling much and come with ride height issues.
  6. No they are an entirely different car in every way except the engine, and even that has numerous differences.
  7. www.skoparts-international.com the website is not massive but he can get almost anything. Email him.
  8. A one year gap between question and reply......that's impressive!
  9. There is not a 1976 Estelle left in Britain (not a rhd one at any rate)....mine is the oldest and it's May 1977.
  10. If it's not had a VAG turbo engine fitted to it then Tom doesn't know what it is! MY S110r was indestructible in day to day use....drove me out of a boggy field after a rallycross event when everyone else who wasn't in a 4x4 got stuck and it put up with me driving it round everywhere with my foot on the floor. Great little cars and totally dependable.
  11. As per Kieran's advice on the other forum.......don't bother unless you want a tail heavy money pit. You would need to pay someone from scratch to do this for you and you will need a whole load of re-engineering. Having a cheap but unsuitable engine and then working out how to fit it is not the way to go. Find something suitable then pay for it and then fit it. Of course anything is possible and if you want to do it and have the money then it will work!
  12. You have the bog standard one piece dashboard. I have tried to post up a picture of a Rapid dash but for some reason it wont let me. Here's a link - https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcThpJIEgAaRgutzBXI7PY5vsrm_XVFiyMamFT4TIoivLNtM1Ch6cg
  13. Yep...he is right. Skoparts Int is your man. This is his Ebay advert for a timing chain kit and gaskets - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Estelle-Rapid-130-136-Timing-Chain-sump-gasket-timing-cover-seal-kit-/111249664318?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19e6ff293e I personally don't think you need the gaskets if you're careful. Liquid gasket is your friend.....if you get in touch directly the actual chain and sprocket will be nearer £25. Best and easiest place is on his Facepuke site.....
  14. You can use a Felicia sump but I think you need the oil pick up pipe as well......
  15. You don't need to use Google translate on the Speedpro site - there is a button top right to translate to English and another one next to it to get the currency into Euros. They do post to the UK (I've bought a few things from them) but I would imagine body panels will be difficult! They don't take cards - you have to do a foreign money transfer to pay and they don't really speak English.....I usually email them in basic English.....I tried ringing once but it didn't work well! If you look at the date of this thread its 2 1/2 years old...IMS came and went in a few months from Skoda world and I haven't heard from him since he sold off the parts he had collected.
  16. Skoparts Int......current old Skoda specialist in the UK. He isn't on here usually but he runs the Skoda forum and he is has a Facebook site. Look on ebay......you can buy Goodridge braided for the 4 pots. Failing that most motor factors will be able to supply them too I think.....they aren't rare...yet!
  17. Don't tempt him too much.....the gearbox is a standard Skoda item and just about at it's limit where it is! New exhaust looks sexy.....don't know why you want to hide the silencer, that's a RWD Skoda tradition on all the rally and hardcore cars.
  18. Brighton Speed Trials on the promenade is the oldest motorsport event in Britain and has been running since 1905. The Green party run council now want to put an end to it for good (it didn't run last year following the death of a competitor in 2012)....please stop these car hating idiots by registering and signing the petition. It only takes a couple of minutes, you register then sign....no wait or need to go back in. http://present.brighton-hove.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?ID=410&RPID=11175561&HPID=11175561 https://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/http%3A//present.brighton-hove.gov.uk/mgepetitiondisplay.aspx%3Fid%3D410%26rpid%3D11175561%26hpid%3D11175561%26h%3Deaqggrkiraqgh219jreg5tk9i-h1pyvnfwjc4ej937yb83a%26s%3D1/-?pip=false&premium=false&client_uid=4194351932&client_ver=3.6.3.549&client_type=IEPlugin&suite=true&aff_id=691&locale=en_gb&ui=1&os_ver=6.2.0.0'>
  19. Skoparts Int. will be able to get you a new one, they are still produced in CZ. Jorily had them in his catalogue for £90 brand new.
  20. To be honest Buffalox I really don't think this is the place to advertise them......it's mostly a Skoda performance site (hence the name) and I would hedge a bet that most of the paying members have Octavia VRS or Fabia VRS. In fact I'm not even sure the 'old Skoda' market is what you need because they are so old (if it was then I would say Skoda Owners Forum or Skoda Owners Facebook site) - I reckon your market is probably classiccars.com or even Ebay where the wider market will pick them up....or possibly even a classic car publication.
  21. The red ones are particularly nice, sadly I don't have money for either!
  22. Avos are around £60 each now and they seize and fall to bits! I started on Spax, moved onto Avos and am now trying Gaz. They are all similar but Gaz seem to have the best build quality IMO - they are all in the £60-75 price bracket. To be honest gas shocks don't make tha much difference especially if your car is already lowered....as long as they work well. I needed to soften up the rear of my race car a touch so I am currently running oil shocks on the back at the moment. If you're skint you often see standard oil type new old stock shocks for a few quid. I picked up a pair of fronts for my 105 for 99p a couple of months back. The main probem with the Estelle suspension is there are far too many rubber bushes and joints in the front....by the time they are 20+ years old they are all knackered and you can feel it. It is a bitch of a job to replace them......I know I've done it and lost almost a week of my life!! :'(
