  1. Has anyone made any progress with Skoda UK re this matter?
  2. When I cancelled my Skoda finance after a couple of weeks it did not affect the 2 year service plan included in the agreement. I made sure that I got email confirmation from Skoda finance, just in case this was quiered futher down the line.
  3. What was his response re the software upgrade, and the fact that this is a known issue as per the bulletin in November 2017?
  4. Most of the updates about this issue are on a separate post: Engine revs without foot on accelarator
  5. I thought that you would be pleased about that news! At least Skoda have admitted that there is a problem that needs fixing.
  6. Took the car into Silbury this morning re the revs and nearside light in the boot not working. Did the drive round the car park with mechanic in the car, revs increased, as expected, and he initially said that this was the anti stall feature. He then took the car to the workshop re the light, about 40 mins later he returned having done more tests and confirmed that Skoda are aware of the issue with 1.5 tsi and he is awaiting for a software update (although this may take several months), so it looks as if Skoda have now acknowledged the problem. Lamp unit was replaced as the problem was a dodgy diode. This was the usual very good service from Silbury.
  7. Oh well, I'll still take mine in on Monday so at least it's recorded by Skoda, plus I need to speak to the dealer about something else. The increase in revs is a real pain when stuck in slow moving traffic, you either sound as if you are over reving, or you have to keep slipping the clutch.
  8. If you are buying on PCH your 'deposit' is actually your initial payment, so you don't get that back as it forms part of your payments. Your monthly payments will vary in amount depending on the size of your initial payment, ie large initial payment =smaller monthly payments, or, small initial=larger monthly.
  9. On the FL the dlr and sidelights are the same bulbs, the main beam (H15) is a separate bulb.
  10. It will be useful to see how you get on with Skoda UK this week as mine is going into Silbury next Monday re this issue.
  11. It is not intermittent with me with the high revs, and I notice it more when the engine is hot, although that may be because I always reverse into parking spaces, hence slow speed manoeuvring. Fortunately I do not have the jerkiness, or lumpy change of gears. gregoir - re 'divvy', BigKev2, SoupDragon and myself all got our cars from dealers 'up north' hence the regional expression!
  12. The area highlighted on the rear offside door suffered from damage if no foils were fitted. This problem was sorted when the dealer got authorisation from Skoda UK. It involved a respray of the area on the door and foils fitted, I had this done on my first Yeti. I would say that you have zinc inclusion ( the bubbles) just above the 50p area, again this is a common problem and I suffered it on my first two yetis, both were fixed (resprayed) with no problems. Skoda are well aware of this, and it has been well documented in previous posts on briskoda.
  13. I agree that if nothing can be done,it will a case of adapting to the ' feature'. Things could be worse!
  14. Are you making your dealer aware? The more people who bring it to the attention of Skoda the better.
  15. Interesting, the only reference I can find on the Skoda website to Pull Away Assist is: Pull Away Assist warns of approaching vehicles when reversing out of a parking space. There's no mention of increasing the revs to 2000 when the clutch is released. I've attached a quick video to show what this problem is. MOV_0250.mp4
  16. Can you let me know how you get on please? I'm booked in for Monday 19th.
  17. I think that yours may be slightly different. The 1.5tsi is increasing the revs when the clutch is released without any pressure on the accelerator.
  18. SoupDragon I've just emailed Justin at Silbury to see if he is aware of this issue. It will be interesting to see what Pulmans find with BigKev2 car.
  19. Okay thanks. Mine is from Silbury, as is the other car mentioned in the previous post.......it could be the northern air!!
  20. I'll be very interested to hear what they do at the dealers today. Which dealer is it?
  21. I have a similar issue with my 1.5tsi with the revs going up to 1800-2000 when the clutch is released. It's interesting to hear what the technician says, it's a pain, especially when reversing into a parking space or if in slow moving traffic, it does make it sound as if you can't drive and are slipping the clutch. I have a very slight downhill gradient to park on the level, it means that as I ease the clutch out onto the level the revs increase to around 2000! This topic was brought up a week or so ago by someone else with 1.5tsi so it seems to be an issue with this engine.
  22. I think that you will struggle to get two high backed seats and a booster seat in the rear of an Octavia. This is what it's like in the rear of mine (excuse the quality of the photos but it's the reflection of the snow).
  23. I've had my SE technology for just over 3 weeks (700 miles) and haven't noticed any vibration, even when it's in 2 cylinder mode. Am really pleased with the car, it's quite different after 3 yetis, it's quite responsive and is averaging just under 46mpg.
