  1. Sorry for the delay in replying. The DRL's change into the sidelights when they are switched on, so there's no difference in brightness of the two lights.
  2. This is the best that I can do where you can any definition. Dipped and full beam, the dipped beam is quite white (I've been flashed by incoming cars a couple of times) Hope this helps
  3. Just checked my FL SE technology- it looks like the sidelights and drl are the same. Dipped beam (H7) and main beam (H15) are separate units. I had the dipped beam bulbs changed to Philips x-tremeVision when I bought the car, there doesn't appear to be much choice for upgrading the main beam bulbs, unfortunately.

  5. I got mine from Silbury as well, 3 weeks ago. The temperature or gradient do not make any difference. It's more noticeable when manoeuvring at slow speeds.
  6. SoupDragon=my Octavia 1.5tsi also has the revs increasing to just under 2000 when the clutch is depressed. it can be a bit disconcerting especially when reversing into a parking space, plus it does sound as if you are 'riding the clutch'. When did you get yours, and from which dealer?
  7. The car is on pch so any extras that I purchase would have to go back with the car at the end of the contract. If I purchase the wheel( and kit separately), I can either transfer them to another car at the end of contract, or sell them on. And you are right about the 1.5 being a great choice, I'm really impressed with it.
  8. My new 1.5tsi SE technology doesn't currently have a spare wheel just a tin of gunk and a compressor, it's on 205/55/R16 tyres. I've seen a space saver for a yeti 195/60/R16 advertised on gumtree, does anyone know if this would be suitable to use as a temporary spare for my car? Thanks
  9. No it's not. It's available to private buyers as well (I've just taken delivery of mine a couple of weeks ago), just ask the dealer. jtalep- I have asked myself the same question as to why anyone would buy a SE when the SE technology is the same price with more kit.
  10. Well that's my RIAS insurance cancelled, I'll get a refund of £28 for the 'unused' remaining 2 months of my policy. After lots of quotes I've gone back to IAM for my insurance, it's just a pain as I hadn't planned on having to insure the car this month.
  11. Today is my last day as a Yeti owner (well almost last day as it will not be picked up by BCA until Friday). I've had 3 Yetis over the last 8 years, all have been great motors, with no problems ,other than some zinc inclusion on the first two, which was dealt with without any problems. If the Yeti was still being produced I would probably be picking up number 4 today, but in view of the decision to stop production I will be picking up my Octavia 1.5tsi, se technology today. I'll still be keeping an eye on the Yeti forum, but will be more active on the Octavia section now.
  12. I have been in touch with my current insurers (RIAS) re changing from my current Yeti to my new Octavia and have this reply: Unfortunately, as we are unable to find the correct vehicle on our system, we would be unable to offer cover and would have to cancel the policy. When I phoned them re this they eventually invented a figure of £660 for the remaining 2 months left on my policy, interesting as my premium last year was only £160. They very kindly say that they will not charge me the cancellation fee and will refund me the balance of my current policy. How crazy is this, especially as RIAS are part of Ageas, who provide the Skoda insurance!
  13. Spoke with my dealer yesterday, my car has had its pdi and just needs to be registered (I choose a number from the list of available ones). I've arranged to pick the car up on Wednesday morning, and will get the winter tyres swooped from my current car at the same time. This will give me a few days to get the insurance changed and my current car ready for collection by BCA next Thursday.
  14. My 1.5tsi SE Technology, manual was ordered 18th October, built 10th December, arrived at The Port of Tyne 18th December, at dealer on 21st December-am now just waiting to hear about my hand over date.
  15. Apparently my car arrived at The Port of Tyne this morning.
  16. Apparently my car arrived at The Port of Tyne this morning, not bad as it was only built last week :-)
  17. Yes this is legit and does work. I did a similar thing, paying it off after a couple of weeks, so only incurred interest of £20-£30. VWFS were very helpful in doing it.
  18. After a couple of extended test drives I decided to purchase an Octavia (built this week) on PCH, so my Yeti will be going back next month (hopefully). I've had the letter from BCA re collection and will arrange a date to coincide with picking up the Octavia. I may use the Skoda free 5 day insurance to cover any overlap of having both vehicle. If you don't mind, how much was the figure that you were quoted re purchasing the car (roughly)?
