I heard they had problems with the 1.2 engine,don't know what type of problems though .....

The Mark 1 Fabia had much much much better build quality than the Mark 2 Fabia including the paint work .... If you look at the edges especially the plastic painted trim on a yellow mark 2 Fabia it looks as if it needs more paint ....

I like yellow cars but wouldn't want one for me personally especially an Octavia.....Regarding yellow Skoda's,looking at the fabia in yellow,the paint looks so thin in the edges,looks like it's been only given one coat with the undercoat still visible.....Prefer red or black or maybe even the Anthracite on an vRS,Race blue looks a tad too vulgar IMO.

Have you got a picture of one in Stone grey ???? :confused:

If I post some pics of my Octy is anyone able to photoshop some VRS bumpers on it and lower the ride height to see what it might look like if I plan to fit them ?

What kind of engine tuning is available for the 1.9 PD engine ?.Want to increase the BHP and Torque figures slightly to be able to catch up with my mate in his Vrs Mark 1 Octavia .....

The Vrs wheels at the back look too small,could it be because of the ride height ,or are spacers needed to get the wheel out or is it just the picture ???

It depends whether yo want them to work or just fakish,the latter should be fairly easy to do but to make them work you have to replace the headlamp switch as that incorporates the switch for fogs as well,that alone would be expensive,wiring prep is not there so it's not just a matter of replacing switch,fitting foglamps,plug everything and ready,quite a job to do I'm afraid ......

Valeo do a single mass flywheel kit,more reliable I've been told,you can also buy the clutch parts seperately when the clutch wears out,no need to re buy flywheel again ......

Anyone ever retro fitted a VRS tailgate spoiler on a non VRS model ?,Will it suit the car ?.Car is a hatch in a stone grey colour,got any pics if anyone fitted one ?.Do I need to drill or can I just fix it with sealant ?.

When playing an MP3 disc the artist and song name appears on the radio display but on the Maxidot it only displays the track number and time elapsed.Shouldn't the maxidot diplay,display the track name/artist as well ?,When the radio is on the RDS is displayed on the Maxidot,just in case it makes any difference my Octy's got the Audience stereo....Also I read somewhere you push the trip meter button with ignition off/on,engine off/on to see how many miles are left for the service,how does this actually work if there's any function as such ?.

Have Skoda UK never heard of goodwill warranty ?,if Skoda had problems with the gearboxes they should help you,write to Skoda CZ if need be,or even What car magazine,with Skoda's reputation of being the top manufacturer in the JD power surveys,they won't want their reputation tarnished,let's say they cover half the costs the lease,provided that the car has a fill skoda service history they should be able to help you.....

Some months ago Skoda had issued a technical bullettin regarding second gear problems on some Octavia gear boxes,it required the replacement of the 2nd gear and it's synchro rings,make sure the dealer checks and replaces everything that's needed.

Was referring to ride height :P ...... Street cred wise i think both look good,the standard octy looks very very very nice and the Vrs looks a bit more meaner...

How lower is a Vrs from an Ambiente ? mine rides on 16'' rims,don't want to lower it a lot,if i fit the Rs springs anyone has any idea by how much the car will be lowered ? 20 to 30 mm is fine for me,50 is too much I think,this is a car I use daily,don't want a stiff ride,only want to lower it as it's a bit of a roly poly in corners and the back end sits too high ....

Regarding alloys,don't think that they were standard on all Ambiente models,my model has 16'' Sirius dealer fitted alloys as the original were 15'' steelies,one way to know whether the car has factory or dealer fitted alloys go to any Skoda parts shop,give them the chassis number and from the info on ETKA ( skoda parts catalogue)they would know with which wheels the car left the factory with.Is ASR ( anti spin )and TCS ( traction control ) the same thing ?

Does anyone know if a 205/55 R16 tyre fits in the spare wheel well ?,I've just obtained a matching alloy and want to use it as a spare to replace the 15'' steel I currently have,but since i've only got the rim don't want to buy a 16'' tyre only then to find it won't fit ........

I want to change the passenger seat base frame + the relevant trim so that I can have a height adjustable passenger seat like the driver's one on my ambiente,since my car has got the sound system with the amplifier underneath the passenger seat, is this possible to fit,is there enough clearance ?,don't want to spend a fortune on a seat base only for it not to fit properly.Don't call me obsessed,but I love to sit a tad low,don't feel comfortable in a high driving position,hate higher seated than me passengers at the front and also when looking at the car the seats don't line up obviously due to mine being at the lowest setting .....

If I fit a set of Vrs springs onto my 1.9 TDI PD will the car sit lower and are the Vrs springs compatible with the current shocks on my car ?,is it an easy swap job or do I have to replace some shock/spring mountings or even the shocks ?,I am intending to slightly lower the car as it sits horribly high especially at the back and it feels slightly unstable at higher speeds,I was thinking of lowering it say between 20 and 30 mm and thought the Vrs springs might do the trick,car is sitting on 16'' original alloys .If Vrs springs can't be fitted does anyone recommend other lowering spring makes....

Why don't you ring one of these specialists who are able to pull dents and scrapes with these suction pullers,normally they won't remove any trim and won't harm the paint.

Looks great,is it a petrol or a diesel ?.Was going to buy a VRS diesel before I got the ambiente,didn't buy it for the simple DPF gremlin problems ......

If the car looked good with further extras skoda would have fitted them during in production so my opinion is leave as it is....Nothing will fit properly and the thing will look like a big mess...
