  1. A new November 2015 edition of the owners manual is now available from the link in post 1
  2. Just received an email update from my dealer - 1.4 tsi SEL-E still status 10 but now come forward from week 17 to week 05. Also had confirmation that the this engine has been taken off the list of problem engines.
  3. My 1.4 tsi SEL-E ordered 23 September, and had unconfirmed build week of 07 from that date until a last week, when dealer contacted me and advised now week 17. An extra 10 weeks making 33 weeks in total - hope is comes down!
  4. Just had an update from Dealer...... SE L Exec 1.4 ACT tsi ordered 23 September, unconfirmed build week 07, now advised today moved to build week 17. A 10 week jump is not good news - hopefully it may come down but not holding out much hope - 33 weeks a long time.......
  5. Ordered 17th of September. (1.4 ACT SEL-Exec) - dealer placed order on 23 September. Showed build as week 07, update on 08 October after sending three email requests - still at week 07 Received an answerphone message today advising build week now 13 with status 10 ( whatever 10 is) So, it appears as we thought that the 1.4 models are behind others.
  6. Something else I did not know - and not mentioned in the brochure as far as I know. Active Air Blades Active Air Blades reduce aerodynamic resistance and therefore cut down on the new Superb‘s consumption and emissions. If the engine or the air conditioning is not working at full blast, the vents close and the stream of air hugs the vehicle body, resulting in lower losses. Active Air Blades also help to heat up the engine faster from a cold start. Item mentioned on http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/models/new-superb/pages/technology.aspx
  7. Manual for New Superb now available in PDF !! http://ws.skoda-auto.com/download/4all/Documentation_ENG/NKO_B6.pdf
  8. Well, so far not received a reply to my email to VCA, however, it appears that the VCA have errr.... re-evaluated their figures for the 1.8 TFSI 7DSG to 168. VCAcarfueldata.org.uk - Search Results - Further Information
  9. Here's a link to Webasto Solar Sunroof info in a PDF http://www.webasto.com/products/graphics/file_brochure_car_solar-slide_en_218kb.pdf Page 2 indicates charging a battery is a future option.
  10. ......answered my own question. Skoda's Documentation site link states that the Heated Washer Nozzle is on when the ignition is on.
  11. Just occurred to me - what switches-on the Heated Washer Nozzles? On my Mondeo the Quickclear heated front screen also turns on the heated washer nozzles. When I ordered my Superb the options screen the dealer had stated " Heated Headlamp wash" or something similar. They checked with Skoda and said it was an error on the options list - it meant heated washer nozzles and not heated headlamp wash.
  12. From your post I personally am slightly confused/concerned that the DVLA are taking the figures as supplied to them by Skoda. If that's the case why does the VCA exist? Major white goods have the energy efficiency labels that have to be displayed so the consumer can make an informed choice. However, in the case of cars, this has a bearing on the VE Duty, so there has to be a 'verifiable' source producing the data. If you read this link VCAcarfueldata.org.uk - Home Page then it confirms that these labels have to be displayed in the UK showrooms. Now on this basis, when a 1.8 DSG actually gets to be displayed in a UK showroom it will have the A-G label and be shown as 165 band D. So the customer will expect band D VED, but the DVLA, via the dealer, will be issueing a Band E if they take the figures Skoda are supplying. Surely, Skoda should be supplying the data as officially tested by the VCA - after all, that is why they exist. I have sent an email to VCA re the above so await their response. The VCA also states there purpose is to : Identify the vehicle excise duty and/or the relevant Company Car tax percentage bracket, based on their CO2 level. Now, the above information, and more from the VCA website contradicts what JCB has been told by the DVLA. Unless someone with more legal knowledge can comment, surely there is an issue here under Trading Standards.
  13. My last 8 or so cars have always had a sunroof - force of habit perhaps......so decided to keep with tradition !! I had also researched in depth about the Solar sunroof option and the claimed benefits, noted users commennts on the web who have this on other VAG group, and others, cars, and wanted to try this option for myself. If you don't try it, you don't know what your missing....., or not, as the case may be.
  14. .........so that's both me and Jonathan getting £97.88 knocked off our cost then....... we have both added this as an option which is now deemed 'standard' for this model. Yes, Jonathan, you can get up off the floor now, you are not alone, last month I have also ordered a 1.8 DSG Elegance - (Steel Grey, Solar Sunroof, Auto Dim, Hill Hold, Wood Decor, Sunset Glass, Heated Washers and Park Assist).
  15. Useful official Skoda PDF guide to use maxidot with Bluetooth http://www.universkoda.com/sup%202/bluetooth/forum%20us%20-%20guide%20bluetooth%20sup%202%20eng.pdf
  16. Further to Dan123's post, this also should mean that if these are the 100% official figures then the VED band drops down one from £170 to £145 - I wonder if Skoda will amend their "On The Road" price........... VCAcarfueldata.org.uk - Search Results - Further Information
  17. It seems as though there are lots of questions raised, not just for Hill Hold, that could be answered by having access to an electronic copy of the handbook. I did sent Skoda CZ an email asking for this, but their response was to apply to your dealer, presumably to request a printed copy at whatever cost. Most electro/mechanical goods these days have a manual you can download to really find out about what you want to buy does what you want it to do - in fact I rarely buy a product without first having downloaded the the manual to read first. Cars are an obvious exception, although I don't see why.......... Anyone aware of electronic copy of Drivers Handbook ? .............. no, I thought not. Never mind - have to spend an hour or so at dealer then reading it.
  18. Skoda Uk Car Configurator...... Select 1.8 DSG Elegance for example - now shows Hill Hold in the 'standard' spec and not listed as an option - gets even more confusing............
  19. Anynone able to update re Indepent Auxillary Heater .......?? James - or any dealer, can any of you establish from if this is going to be available in the very near future for UK spec cars. I expect to be ordering a 1.8 DSG Elegance with most options inc Solar Sunroof in the next week or so, but would be prepared to wait a couple more months if the Indepent Auxillary Heater option is going to be orderable before year end.
  20. Some VW technical info here with animated graphics.... Start > 7 gear dual-clutch gearbox DSG > DSG > Innovation > Experience > Volkswagen International Homepage
  21. Anyone looking for more info on 'Independent Auxilliary Heating' - the term used by Skoda - or 'Parking Heater' by some others, could take a look at parkingheater.com - this is Webasto's site. When you see and read the advantages this was the reason I posted comments under the 'Option' thread further down. I cannot find out yet whether this item is available to UK spec cars, at what cost, and if it will be available, then when will it be available. When I spoke to Skoda UK Customer Support, despite spending 5 or 6 minutes trying to make the person understand what I was enquiring about, and even referring to the PDF referred to above, they phoned me back and gave me a brief spiel about Climatronic. I just said thanks and goodbye....nuff said.
  22. Skoda UK not very informed.. again... Sent email last week asking about the 'Indepent Heating' as referred to on page 11 of the NewSuperb_Accessories_ENG.PDF, asking for price as not shown in options list. Brief reply along the lines of see brochure when available. New Brochure now on web, so telephoned them today, asking about the Indepent Heating. They did not know what I was talking about - however, I tried to explain, referred to page 11 of above PDF, asking for price, is this an option for GB, and when it will be available. Just received a reply - saying that 'standard in Elegance - will maintain the temperature selected'. Bless, nice simple description of Climatronic. I tnink any one of the posters here have more knowledge. Does anyone know of a sensible contact to ascertain this information re Indepent Heating - or Parking Heater as sometimes described as?
