You can convert them to ascii format with something like pimp my nav, if you want to start doing more with POI's its a good purchase -
Columbus unit & 32 Gb SD cards
erniem replied to brithomas42's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Go onto ebay and order one from China or Hong Kong, a lot cheaper than getting them locally other than that you could try My Memory (http://www.mymemory.co.uk/) -
They do if you ask for it, had the same issue prior to acquiring mine, but that was last May. If you don't ask you don't get

erniem replied to Alien8d's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Try recycling the Columbus unit itself by holding the <> and Info buttons at the same time for a few seconds Also check to see if the units are paired on the phone and if so set the bluetooth connection for SKODA_rsap is authorised on the Touch 2 -

erniem replied to Alien8d's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
The touch 2 works, I have the RSAP add on installed, but you can't configure it. You need to also go into the bluetooth settings, scroll down to the advanced settings and expand it, and the scroll down and turn on Sim access. once done make sure you recycle the device. -
Columbus and syncing with new phone
erniem replied to Caravan_man's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
You need to delete the profile using the MFD and then add the new name, I had the same when I switched phones as it seems to recognise the SIM rather than the phone's bluetooth name -
HTC Hero-can it work with columbus phone prep?
erniem replied to Ben Smith's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
The HTC Touch2 works fine -
Hi Bagpuss, what problem are you seeing with your Columbus as on mine it has recently developed a fault where the display is not showing my position, but the navigation is still working through the MFD? I have tried to a reset, but still get the same issue Ernie Update: Its Ok, I reloaded the base disk and then put the V5 maps on and all is OK again

Company car tax - BIK real costs by model
erniem replied to grobster's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Totally agree on this, and the numbers also show why taking the Superb 170 was better than taking the 140. My private mileage is significantly higher than my business mileage, I expect to do around 20K miles/year -
Most useless feature on the superb2
erniem replied to Mountainman's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
OK here's an honest answer The Sunglasses holder, It's too f*****n small Secondly being restricted to RSAP with the Columbus as that limits the phones you can use, No Android and No iPhone Other than that, still love the car -
I looked into the Blue and didn't like it, its not very bold/bright if that's what you are looking for

Anyone else finding the cabin slow to warm up, or is it just me?

It's not about the dealer, more so the best deal you can get as no matter what you'll probably be happy with the car coming from a mark 1

latest fw for rns 510/columbus 2660/2666/2662/2668/2664
erniem replied to DSA's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
I tried to update the firmware on a Columbus unit in a Skoda superb and it recognised the CD as an update, but says I need to remove the clamp or set it to hour mode to update the firmware Any ideas? -

Tried to update the firmware on a Columbus unit, and it recognised the CD but failed to update as it said the clamp needed to be removed or set to hour mode Any ideas? Also for the RNS 510's there is mention of a hidden menu, is there the same on a Columbus for the Skoda Superb? -
You could always contact Skoda themselves

First check if your numbers are stored on the phone or on the Sim

How much personal use are you going to make of the car as I guess its primary use is going to be as a Taxi if my assumption is correct If that's is very little, then why do you need to add more to it other than maybe going for the DSG? If you want front sensors, then you may as well go for park assist as the cost differential isn't great. Upgraded speakers....Why? Heated rear seats..Executive only Taxi then yes, otherwise who will you please by having them? Dimming mirror...Probably Other than that what do you really think you may need

Just got called by My Local dealer to say there is a fog lamp recall due, there was some traffic about Fog lamps misting up a while back, anyone know if that's related?

Ha ha Good to see you finally chose the Superb, your companies lease rates are a lot worse than mine, but mine is over 4yrs....lol Hope you didn't get offended by all the negative comments people put about you initially choosing the BMW.
-
Lease prices are dependant on 1) The company you lease from 2) The Company you work for So trying to do a comparison won't really work, private lease rates are then different again I got a CR170 Elegance as a company car as it worked out more cost efficient for me in my scenario than many other vehicles given what I was looking for in size and comfort.

Don't you just love em NCA Family Car of the year Long term test Maybe Skoda have shares:thumbup:

New company car - thoughts so far on Superb
erniem replied to Such's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Sometimes you need to follow your head and not your heart As this is a company car, look at the costs and what the lovely Tax man will hit you for, compared with the dinner your wife will/may cook Skoda price = £23K BMW price = £30K Petrol Vs Diesel costs Then the emissions, Skoda wins hands down A lot of people are surprised with the Superb, but in the end it's your choice and you need to think what you want to drive And with the kids in the back, unless they are huge they won't kick the front seats -
I have a forwarded email from the dealer who my car came from Jewsons (Oxford) which states that the DVD comes as standard at no extra cost Two other options to get this confirmed 1) Call Skoda UK 2) Call a dealer and ask them
