Best Windscreen Wipers for Fabia
I've used Bosch and now Valeo wipers. We were told Valeo last longer than Bosch, but can't confirm it ourselves as never note down when they are changed.

Is that near Sedgefield or somewhere else? I have a feeling there are 2 or more Hardwick Halls around.

Great pics. I still like wonderful Whitby though. Pic taken in October for a Photo Comp with 'Reflections' as the subject.

vRS Drag Race
I thought I's seen it before. I've just realised the above is an shortened edited version of a race on Carwow's main channel, posted nearly 3 years ago. TBH, I'd prefer if they post drag races on the other channel and kept Carwow for car reviews. Here is the original drag race vid.

Back Tyre for 1.2 TSI
I was talking about tyres for my current car, a 2018 Fiesta. 205/45 17s. They were the older Cross Climate +. I'd love to try the Cross climate 3 to see if/how much they've improved but currently they don't do that size (205/40 & 205/50, but not 205/45!). As for milage CC+, around 32k miles, mostly on front, but swapped to rear in winter. Goodyears, currently an impressive 38k miles, but mostly on the rear. I need to replace them next month before the MOT in Feb. I remember I once only got 8k miles out of a pair of Rainsport 3s in my mk1 Fabia . However I'm guessing my 1.0l Ecoboost is much lighter than the old 1.9 TDI lump.

Back Tyre for 1.2 TSI
A lot of people rave about Cross Climates, however when I've tried them on my car, I wasn't impressed with their wet performance, especially when worn. Quite a few all season tyre tests criticise the wet performance of them too. I am currently running Pirelli and a pair or warn Goodyear all seasons and can't fault them. The Pirelli all seasons have won tyre tests for the last 2 years. As I always say, buy the best tyres you can afford, remember it's the only thing that touches the road!

Austin Mini GT-Four 'Project Binky' Build, Youtube Video Series.
The End........... of the build, 2013-2025 (but they hinted at the end, it may be extended). I think the next series will be, "Running Binky", ie how it drives, breakdowns, maintenance and modifications/improvements. I suppose it still has to pass an MOT or IVA to make it road legal. As people say, project cars are never completely finished! I'm sure they can squeeze a few more brackets into it! Episode 42, the answer to Life, the Universe and Binky!

Fusso Coat Cracked in Tin.
Yep, 10% kerosine. I must admit, I'm not so keen on the smell of the wax, it's strong of solvents, reminds me of Brasso. If I do add liquid (solvent), knowing my luck I'll add too much and ruin it. https://msds.soft99.eu/en/00298_FUSSO_COAT_12_MONTHS_WAX_L_EN.pdf I'm surprised it doesn't specify Carnauba Wax as the ingredients. Maybe it's not harmful.

Fusso Coat Cracked in Tin.
A month ago I opened the tin of Fusso Coat to apply for the first time (I think) this year, and noticed inside it was cracked (see pic below). It was fine the last I used it. I bought it just over 5 years ago (Sept 2019) and is the first 'hard wax' I've ever used. I have recently moved it from the house to our garage and accidently dropped it from a shelf, which I'd imagine did not do it any good. So can anything be done about it? If not can anyone recommend a replacement? I am after a long lasting wax/sealant that's easy to use. I love the longevity of Fusso coat, however I sometimes find it's hard to remove, plus white marks seam to appear a month or so afterwards.

Coming off winter tyres
I used to swap mine round in November and Easter. However it has been known that we have a 'white Easter' with snow. I don't know what the predictions are for this year. I'd imagen it depends on the date. On my current car I use All-seasons, but still swap them around. I've run Cross-Climates and Goodyear 4 seasons. I have always thought the Michelins are a more summer biased tyre. I am not so sure after reading current tyre tests. My dad has claimed in the 1960s he got Frostbite in Scotland at Mid August!

Mk1 fabia
It is registered as a 1.2 12v classic HTP. The exhaust is an aftermarket bolt on tailpipe. It's normally hidden behind the bumper, pointing downwards. I once had one as a hire/courtesy car. It was nippy round town with a light gearshift. I loved the 3 cylinder thrum it gave, especially when you revved it. Far better than a clattery diesel, however I did miss the extra power and torque of my vRS when you left a town. I, just noticed it's your first post, so Hello and Welcome to the Forum.

Window Cleaning.
As someone has commented, Holly Thread Revival Batmaan!! Anyway. I've tried all sorts to clean inside of windscreens. AG Fast Glass isn't bad, but I do get streeks with it. At the moment I have found 'Holts Screenies Glass wipes' work the best. Not sure where you buy it from as it was in a gift set I was given for my Birthday a few years ago. A good tip is park the car facing into the sun, preferably late when sun is low to help to see all the muck on the inside. AG Fast Glass and/or AG Glass polish are best for cleaning the outside of windows/screens.

Wheel Bolt Torque
I have done a bolt tightening (tension) course at work and was very surprised how much a thread lube (coppaslip, etc) makes a difference to the tightness of a joint. Different lubes have different friction values which have to be taken in consideration too. I'm sure I's seen vids on YouTube (Torque Test Channel) that also prove it too. I'm never sure if wheel nuts should be lubed or done dry. I'm guessing the latter. Depending on how old your torque wrench is, it's 89/90 lb ft, in old money! My big torque wrench is so old it doesn't do NM.

I've been to Locomotion museum up in Shildon this week and took lots of pics. I like these 2 I took outside and edited. Both taken with my OM10 mk3 with kit lens. Colour selected with OM Workshop, then finished in Gimp. What do you think? I can post the originals if you wish.

VW ENGINE WET BELTS ARE THERE ANY?
I have drive a Fiesta with the infamous 1.0 Ecoboost (nicknamed EcoBoom!) engines with a wet timing belt. I am not looking forward to when it needs changing. I've been quoted £1500 from my local dealer and won't get change from £1000 if done independently. It is a very labour intensive job needing special gear. The crankshaft pully bolt is f-ing tight! I didn't know of the change in service intervals from 10 to 6 years, it might not be 1.0 Ecoboost. I might change it early at 8 years, not 10. The newer EcoBoost engines have a Timing chain which should be better, however it still has a wet belt to drive the oil pump. There has not been any reports of this belt failing or breaking up yet.

Holy thread revival Batman!! Yep, after 18 or so months they are back. I wonder how many kettles and cups of tea they've gone through to get this far, lol. I can't see the vid on Rob's post so here it is. (hopefully not posted twice). It's been so long, they've made an extra long episode.

On Sunday I decided to go to Scarborough for the day, to have a wonder, not been for 30 odd years. On the way back I briefly stopped in Whitby by the Marina and took some pics. This was the last one I took on my mobile (Moto G8 Power). What do you think? B&W (de-saturated) Original Maybe would be better at low tide. Maybe try, with zoom lens stood away (with a proper camera). I want to get more of those bridges in the background.

I hadn't done any calculations to set my trip, so hence it's not showing. A bit blurry pic as was done whilst driving (couldn't stop), sorry about the finger!

Tools needed to work on a fabia
It all depends on what you want/need to do. There are some special tool you might want such as a a brake calliper rewind tool, unless you have drums on the back. I'm not sure about your front callipers, you may need a 7mm (hex) allen socket to remove slider pins. Being petrol a spark plug socket and feeler gauges (for the gap) will be useful to. If you need to do suspension work then a ball joint splitter and maybe spring compressors. However I didn't need them for my Fabia. I could be sarcastic and say all you need to fix it is WD-40 and Duct tape! 😛 In saying that I can remember being told that to work on an old mini all you needed was 2 (imperial) spanners.
