  1. No, once they are used they are used (scanning cars doesn’t use up a VIN, but coding does). You can upgrade to 10 VIN, but do it directly with RT as it works out cheaper.
  2. They are Euro6 so allowed everywhere. Tgey are also dirt cheap (£30) to tax, how much does the petrol one cost to tax?
  3. Mapped 190 and I get low 50’s, certainly no slouch. 190 is also £30 PA to tax.
  4. 190 DSG Now 220 / 505Nm Slightly better on fuel (couple of mpg more)
  5. Then it should be slightly better than a stock 190.
  6. The 190 DSG will handle well over 500Nm. not sure if the 150 DSG is the same though.
  7. What torque is it producing? A factory 190 is 400Nm
  8. Yes 50 kW is standard at motorway services, 150 kW are being rolled out but they are currently few and far between.
  9. In reality it’s a non issue, most people will need a comfort break before the car needs charging, when we got the Leaf 2 years ago (which has half the range of a Polestar) every motorway service station bar one in the UK has EV chargers. Apart from LED’s inside the car and a pair of dashcams it will probably stay standard 😂 (I don’t believe that either!!)
  10. Yes @john999boy I got the email 👍 @newbie69 they are not that big inside, but big enough for 4 x 6’ adults, the charging network is improving, but with any 250+ mile range EV this isn’t really that important for most people providing you can charge at home or work, don’t forget you can leave home every day with a full ‘tank of fuel’ (292 miles).
  11. Time will tell, it looks pretty well cared for with loads of receipts and history, it will only do a few thousand miles PA. TBH I am hooked on the EV, what’s not to like, instant power, grip, toys and built quality. Pondered over the Model 3 / ID.3 but neither of them cut it compared to the L&K, the Polestar is actually slightly higher spec than the L&K... which it needs to be as it’s an awesome car and one I will miss when it goes.
  12. Only partly... Todays purchase is my toy / work shed / old age crisis: High spec E93 335i cabriolet 😂 The main car that will be the family car (and will also replace SWMBO’s Leaf as well as my L&K) is a Polestar 2... 400bhp 4x4 EV with more toys than you can shake a stick at.
  13. Its got a fair few more ponies than your Superb! 😂 and LOADS more toys 😜
  14. Actually MUCH better looking (IMO) and MUCH better specced! Oh and f**kin’ quick 😮
  15. Now for sale 😪
  16. I always leave in place but turn it off.
  17. Welcome. Moved the thread to the relevant section. It does sound like a sticky switch. Start / stop can be coded with VCDS etc to be permanently off.
  18. Get it in writing from them and explain the car WILL be going back for a FOC replacement engine when it fails! https://az749841.vo.msecnd.net/sitesengb/alv1/d300a459-5ef6-433f-a49f-65f3638efaa1/national-price-servicing-min.63862747c3e6286ede19bc446a023030.pdf
  19. You only need to change the airbag if you fit a heated steering wheel. I must be one of the 1st to fit a FBSW into a MK3 as mine was done in November 2015.
  20. I don’t charge as such, all I ask for is ‘a drink’ to cover my time. If you fancy the trip down then let me know.
  21. I assume if you press the remote twice in succession then all the doors unlock? if so then yes VCDS can code it to open them all with one press. Im in Folkestone so I guess a bit too far for you.
  22. No, far easier to look for it in the infotainment
  23. Try some IPA (or nail varnish remover) to remove any trace of oils and polish on both surfaces before using the tape.
  24. This ^^^^ The buttons on the remote are pretty flush and VERY easy to press whist in a pocket (and you can also drop all the windows by mistake)
