  1. Clearly you haven’t driven with a heated steering wheel... they are very nice! The ACC is brilliant at making journeys less stressful. Another benefit of heated seats is if you have back troubles, the heat in your lower back reduced pain dramatically.
  2. Well in that case I would be returning to the dealer as @Bap33 has suggested. FWIW I have run 19” wheels for about 55k miles without issue... I have also had one blowout and hit some shocking potholes.
  3. Check they haven’t powder coated or painted the inside mating face or the centre bore of the wheel (the part that contacts the hub on the car) you wouldn’t need much to the wheel to make it appear buckled. IF there is ANY paint on the mating surface then remove it all.
  4. Briskoda plate holders with pressed aluminium plates. Got 3D gel plates on SWMBO’s car which I prefer.
  5. I used to do a 37 mile commute 10 times a week, this then dropped to 15 miles twice a week and now 25 miles twice a week (hence why I’m selling the car). I still however don’t get issues or the DPF light on the dash, no doubt this is largely due to the roads which are 50% dual carriageway / motorway or empty country lanes, I am rarely sat in traffic. Yes, I have interrupted the regen on many occasions (the fans are still going full speed when you turn off) but without exception the next time I stop the car it isn’t doing a regen anymore.
  6. Yes my Superb has a DPF. I do get regens but never had the light on the dash or any problems in 63K miles.
  7. A TDi will take a good 15 mins to fully warm up (heat will be coming out of the heater after 5 mins). My wife had a TDi Yeti and only commuted around 20 mins each way and never had a DPF issue in the 4 years she had it.
  8. Yes all petrol engines run at a higher temperature earlier as they are less thermally efficient. Not sure if a 10 min drive would cause issues on a petrol either as a regen on a DPF would take that long to do, so (I am guessing) a GPF would take a similar time, so potentially you could be interrupting the regen on these shorter trips.
  9. A 30 mins drive will not be an issue, 10 mins drives however are far from ideal... the car will not even be up to full temperature by then. Check that the SportLine doesn’t use a GPF as they are on at least some of the newish petrols.
  10. Yes The pre heating will come from the traction battery (or the fact it’s plugged in).
  11. 1. Yes they are 2. Not sure what you mean. 3. No.
  12. Welcome Mark, No, the 190 uses the DQ250 DSG, I have been running a mapped 190 with 505nM (up from 400 nM) for 60K miles without any issues or slipping. Either every year or up to 2 years / 20K miles Depends who you talk to, up to 130K miles has been mentioned. The UK used to have ‘or every 5 years’, this was only ever in the UK though and I have also heard the time has now been dropped... again this depends who you talk to! Make sure the DSG has been serviced every 40k miles Depending on the driving you do, but I’ve not had a single issue. Yes they use adblue, roughly every 9k miles per tank of adblue, the filler cap is next to the fuel filler so fill it when required from the pump, it’s really a non issue IMO. Depending on budget and age, mine in the classifieds may interest you?
  13. You are missing a sensor on each wheel arch to begin with.
  14. You can’t really compare them. VCDS is pretty user friendly, VCP isn’t. VCDS has free lifetime updates, VCP requires a yearly subscription (for updates). VCDS customer service is second to non, VCP is like pulling teeth. Yes you can do more with VCP, but I rarely use it (must get round to selling it TBH).
  15. The rears will be a piece of cake, fronts a bit more involved. Providing the car doesn’t have DCC.

  18. I think you need to reread what I actually wrote rather than what you think I wrote: Nobody said they are specifically Škoda parts. Škoda are now using parts made from very poor quality steel, worse than on older Skoda's (2010 and 2014 from personal experience) VWs and Audi’s, I cannot comment on the quality of newer VWs and Audi’s as I haven’t checked them. On my 2015 Superb the quality was pretty shocking, these only had 52K miles / 3 years on them: The replacement Brembo’s still look like new 2 years later, as do my wife’s 2 ½ year old Nissan discs and on my old BMW, yes there is slight wear, but they are smooth and even wear, zoom in on the photo and you will see not only have they got deep grooves, but these groove are also heavily rusted.
  19. The discs on all current Skodas are quite poor quality and rust VERY quickly, nothing you can do until they need changing (then fit something like Brembo which are FAR better).
  20. I wouldn’t say it’s especially cheap, it’s done twice the average mileage for it’s age, that in itself isn’t an issue providing on the condition of the car. IF you are looking at the £14k mark then you could do a lot worse than look in the classifieds on here where you can pick up a lower mileage L&K that is just still in warranty, with a few grands with of options on it.
  21. The UK spec is quite lacking on them at the moment though.
