  1. just to reinforce my earlier statement, the older Audi's had the same cd changer as the skoda but retained the round plug, now, as far as I am aware all VAG looms use the rectangular plug look at this on ebay, upto
  2. Iv'e installed a pioneer DEH P9400MP head unit and am currently running the cabling for 3 amps to be mounted in a rack mounted stealth install in the place where the Polystyrene packer is in the boot, complete with cooling fans to keep temps down. This H/u has all the x overs built in and are fully digitally adjustable for cut off and slope to run seperate amps for sub, mids and tweets, I have a dedicated 800w sub driving a picard 12" sub and Infinity Perfect 6.1's ( yes with a little help from a dremel on that oversize bracket they just go in ( Huge magnets)up front0. I'm going for stealth install so that I can keep it all away from prying eyes, |I have also run an Aux line to hook up a dension DMP3 player with satellite display mounted on the dash... got the kit just getting the time (& weather to fit it all) will post pics when more complete. Does anyone have an idea for easily moulding the side recess on the n/s behingd the wheel arch, I want to put in a sub box built from Fibreglass and MDF but am currently pondering how to mould the space it is to fit in. any ideas would be a great help.
  3. just that the changer only has a vw badge on it, getting very tempted to sell it myself as I will have the car for a good few years anyway.
  4. Quentin, If you really want to sell your autochanger stick it on ebay, they easily clear
  5. I visited Virgin cars recently, looking for a new car for swmbo and slid into a Golf R32 Yummmmmmmmmmmmm!!! steering wheel is like something out of Michael schumachers cockpit, wonder if this is likely to fit a VRS?? getting hold of one is another thing!
  6. Any one know how the different lighting colours are achieved on the various VAG group models, mine is a VRS Octy and I would like it BLUE. to match my V Exp Pioneer DEH P9400 Hu and Nokia when in the HF kit but dont want to dimantl ethe dash.... Ive had a look and it looks as if Skoda have used the dashboard to assemble the whole car, ven the exhast looks like it has managed to get in on the act in some strange manner!
  7. Any one out there got a pioneer DEH 9400, any tips on the 10,000 ways to set it up? also, I am keen on using WMA instead of MP3 as is DOES sound much better at a vastly reduced KBPS rate but does not show the track name, title etc ( i.e. ID3 Tags) any comments?
  8. Rob, the vectra is the only thing that flashes more than the lights on the endless miles of cones on the m6!
  9. Vectra drivers just look like they are weaving around, those indicators go on easily, right lane, then left to move back in and complete the overtaking? then right to turn it of then left to turn it off then right to turn it of then left to turn it off then right to turn it of then left to turn it off then right to turn it of then left to turn it off then crash the damned thing into a line of waiting traffic that stopped whilst trying desperately to turn it them off. This is also a good scoat deterrant, I know from experience, I used to drive a New Vectra company car, then only two months into my 3 year sentence, some lowlife took a shine to my shiny black sporty vectra ( oops! too many briskodian celibratory fosters) and smashed through the back door of our house with a brick, stole the keys whilst we were in, took it for a spin, indicated right then left then right........ well I think that you can guess the rest, the car was found 2 ft shorter!.... the final chapter to this story is that he got caught and got 4 years HA!..........I now have a cosseted Vrs ( the real one) and its my own.... I did have to change my job to get out of the Vectra sentence though:D :D
  10. I have just fitted a new toilet at home using a flexible push on waste pipe, is this true **** pipe technology, it was 3" bore so, free flowing.... I Hoppe
  11. DGW- 0-60 in less than 7 second, virtually all of the mags are rating the octy vRS as standard as under 7 seconds...sensasionalism?....as std mine feels B***l fast! Answers on a post card!
  12. Watch out for an unmarked dark green Scooby on the M60 Ring road, manchester, also Volvo T5's!
  13. Geoff, can you explain the differences between the 190bhp of the early Vrs and the later models at 180ish, mine is an 03 plate, is this any less tuneable than the early models? I wasn't inferring any dishonesty on the part of an evidently reputable and honest Jabbasport, judging by the number of VERY happy customers on this site ( and hopefully soon to be one) they are offering an extremely good package, esp when you consider some of the 'off the shelftuning companies are offering a 10Min standard download for
  14. I called in at a seat dealer today, had a look at a Seat Cupra R, it had Brembo's on it, does anyone know if these are a. better than the octy VRS std units b represent an upgrade over whats on? PS NOT considering defecting to our spanish cousins, I LOVE my vRS!
  15. I have only just got back into the mods scene, after a long spell driving company barges ( Vento, 406's, and the new fall apart vectra, urghh!) I am getting used to the 'Turbo' scene as I used to baulk at the prospect of a Turdbo! All that lag etc., Yes I come from the bore it balance it and drink that fuel school! I have a 1360 AXGT that is anything but standard and does around 25mpg on a good day, yes it will stay with the vRS ( in standard quiet civilised form) I had to learn the hard way, no internet forums when I started tuning that! back to civilisation, a lot has been made of Jabba and the apparent engine braking losses that are claimed, I have had a lot of experience with mods on the RR to see what improvements were gained. Remember the splitfire plugs, they were ace, a gain of 5BHP over the standard NGK plugs, both brand new, sadly no longer available as they worked even better on my mated cossie! I found various companies made claims, such as a K&N with a bored out main jet giving an increase from 71 at the wheels up to 101bhp, net result a slower car, a stopped cheque and a sub 20 mpg, I quickly ditched that. The point of this is that you are at the mercy as to what the RR operator wants you to believe, human nature dictates that you want the max figures and if one RR gives you a high figure you will keep on going to them as opposed to any lower ones. I have seen loss figures of around 9% quoted, this I would doubt, as an engineer by trade, the likely hood is closer to the 15/20%. the ONLY sure way to confirm figures is by taking the engine out and putting it on a Bench Dyno, I have seen a few dissapointed faces at this, Racespec in warrington will do this for you ( or used to)
  16. Got very excited this afternoon when I spoke to Liverpool Victoria, read the threads on them not increasing the premium for Jabbafication, APR, Revo or any other mods and thought that this must be too good to be true, so I phoned my insurance company (privelidge) to check on their stance.....result 9 months to go and +
  17. Thinking of buying Dension DH 101 head unit, HDD HU 20 GB HDD, for under
  18. I am looking to replace the HU on my Vrs ( Not Jabbad...yet, I,ll have to get my head round the implications on the GAP insurance!) anyway back to much more mundane subject of ICE, I have been looking around at various makes, I like the Pioneer kit but having had my last car nicked with a load of Cds in the boot and hidden in the glovebox, I am loath to put in another Multchanger ( I know the VRS has one but thats what it cme with). I hve been looking at the Dension HD unit ( DH101) as it is a hard drive based in dash unit for under
