  1. Get in and drive it rather than letting it sit idling. Mine takes forever too. I generally don't use sixth and leave the blowers off completely until the temp gauge is making its way to 90. Takes over 10 mins, but gets there eventually.
  2. Sorry but this is bobbins. Only searches are recorded on your credit file, not the decision each company makes. There are no 'black marks' for having credit declined. The closest thing to what you are talking about is a decrease in credit score for excessive credit applications. One search for one credit agreement would not flag anything untoward. 3 or more in a month or so would possibly start to flag.
  3. I know the windscreen appears to be made of cheese. Car hasn't even done 3000 miles and I'm already due auto glass out to fix one decent sized chip.
  4. I think bilberry is acidic, if so it will void your wheel warranty. For non acidic, the best ive found is this from autobrite http://www.autobrite...r-non-acid.html If they are looking grubby you will probably also need to clay them back with autoglym clay , then polish and seal. Washing alone may not bring out the ingrained brake dust.
  5. Fuelly details should show below. Dropped down a few mpg after a sprightly run back from chatsworth house at the weekend.
  6. I've seen this with some of the USB chargers you plug into the cigarette lighter. Some Of the cheaper ones appear to produce 0.5 amp where I believe you need a 1.0 amp one to charge correctly. Mine is a griffin double USB charger and it does the trick.
  7. Is the mic plugged in to the oem slot where the interior light is or is it an aftermarket jobbie?
  8. Ive never had a good dealing with a customer service team as far as cars are concerned. I think theyre all as bad as eachother. I remember when the airbag cover for my focus steering wheel cracked open. I logged it with ford customer services and the conversation went along the lines of: Ford - sorry sir, the cover itself is a trim item and is only covered by a 12 month warranty so you arent covered me - Oh, can i have the item number for the trim item then and I will order it and pay myself Ford - Sorry no, you cant order the trim item seperately, you have to order the full airbag system for £800 me - Hmm thats odd, if its part of the airbag system then surely its covered by the 3 year warranty then? Ford - No sir, its a trim item and isnt covered by the airbag 3 year warranty Me - This went on for about 10 minutes to which the woman was getting a bit annoyed Ford - Sir when the the fault occur Me - About 8 weeks ago Ford - Oh well, becauuse it has taken 8 weeks for you to notify us then this this classes as neglect and it is not covered by warranty I hang up.
  9. cant they just get you a standard VRS and spec it at skoda uk's expense?
  10. Yep. You need it under load to bed it in properly.
  11. Everyone likes a good beading shot. Here's mine with some AG HD wax
  12. Had one on the type r and it was awesome. It sat pretty low down to stop getting too much heat soak from the engine bay. Was a major design flaw because every time it rained heavily it got bloody soaking wet and the car wouldn't vtec. Took it off after that and sold it!
  13. Generally 2 weeks less than it needs to be as that always seems to be when bits fail!
  14. Spent 1300 miles driving it to work and back. Need to go out and have some fun in it at some point. Got a quote for my towbar fitting so that's next on the list!
  15. Cheers Matt I had seen Barnsely recommended in another post so it could be one worth looking at.
  16. Don't you need to be certified these days to even work on domestic stuff. I'm sure if read that somewhere. Brother in law is a sparky so I never have a problem
  17. Anyone? I'm after a detachable skoda/westfalia with full canbus loom to a 2012 octy vrs. Has anyone had one fitted somewhere who actually knew what they where doing and completed the required coding on vcds after the install I really don't want a half assed scotch lock job with 30p bypass relays fitting.
  18. Ok. Time to do some reading up. I hear you can have your box trailer down weighted so in comes in under your max towing weight. Something to look at!
  19. Help! 2012 diesel vrs manual. Can I tow a box trailer that is marked as 1500kg max weight? Ignore the licence side of things as that's all ok. I just can't decide if legally I can tow this trailer or not. I'm only sticking a motorbike in it so will be no where near the am limit but I think there are new rules which state the vehicle must be able to to the max weight. Anyone know?
  20. Poor Ambrosia! How did you go about getting a non OEM condenser fitted under warranty? I would have thought Skoda would have asked for "like for like".
  21. I'd say yes. To be fair, car manufactures arent the first people to advertise a super duper discount when in reality you are getting bugger all more than the next person. Most of us work on the premise "its what you save not what youve spent" so we get sucked in everytime. So to me I saved 5 grand on my blackline (3K VAT, 2K extras) but ofcourse i know i saved bugger all and actually spent 18 grand
  22. To try and clear up some confusion (but I might add some extra confusion instead) The prices which are quoted i *Beleive* are the price a dealer would pay you for the car. It is not necessarily what you would be able to buy one for on the forecourt. The residuals calculator doesnt offer the option to show that unfortunately. I had a quick look through what the "used" price is now for a blackline and i would honestly take these figures with a very large pinch of sodium chloride... So a used Blackline with 5K on the clock (62 plate) Dealer price £19650 (good luck with that!) Private sale, CAP clean (as you would expect for a 2 month old car) £17200 to be fair I wouldnt worry too much right now about residiuals. You might get run over by a bus tomorrow so itll make no difference in three years time.
  23. longest drive ive done so far is 90 minutes. No pain worth mentioning but i had a bit of shoulder pain. Im putting this down to binning the motorbike a couple of weeks ago and being a bit slow to recover!
  24. Its not too early to check the residuals as CAP have already produced them the blackline has its own CAP ID aswell,it is classed as a completely different variant and has its own special edition selection. I only posted this because people said it would be classed as exactly the same as a standard VRS and I could prove that this isnt the case.
  25. Decided to have a look on CAP this morning for residual values of new cars based on 10K per annum Standard VRS Blackline Make up your own conclusions
