  1. The driver side mirror LED was flickering for a comple of months before it stopped working. First things first, there is no water in the footwells and all interior lights are working including the footwell lights, handle LEDs etc. Any ideas what this could be and how the LED is replaced?
  2. Naa mate, strapped everything, got another lappy and installed dos, tried again with the configs and all worked. Maaan you can sho off with this especially when opening all the windows when i unlock....
  3. OK at last, its working!!!! All the windows go up and down and the second click. Scapped everything and started again. Anyone in the east london (near startford area) need this done then by all means PM me.
  4. Ok, got the cable (has more pins than my previous cable), still doesnt work! Tried all com ports and set to debug mode that gives the following message: Error Stimulation interrupted, reason: Synchronbyte not received (t_rkmax) Anyone any ideas?
  5. Just came back from a 2 week vacation. Have ordered the cable from Vagproducts and await delivery. Will feedback as soon as i get it and tested it out.
  6. Hi All I have a 2003 mk1 superb. Whats the best (cheapest) sat nav system with usb capacity (for music). Recommendations with pics will be ideal for Superbs only please. Thanks
  7. all installed in 40 min installed a brodit pro clip on the center console and stuck the kit on it. Works a treat
  8. must be, bigger the better. thats why us lot have superbs!
  9. This looks miles better than the 3100 i have just installed. I really wanted the mp3 playback from a usb key that this fullfills. Very impressive. Is the control unit (the unit that is used to answer phone calls) wired or wireless? Additionally are the mps controls from this unit?
  10. Tried an old samsung laptop, installed dos on it, tried everything again and guess what:confused: You guessed it, didnt detect at all..... The cable i have has 4 pins that that connect to the car socket. Was woundering how many you had? I will persist untill i get this connected. The software looks like a DOS version of VAGCOM. If VAGCOM works, just cant see why this doesnt work. May well need to invest in the same cable you have. Eventually it could be added to your excellent guide:D
  11. Crafty baggers:mad: I guess water ingress needs to be checked for every 6 months or so to have you *** covered
  12. Now thats what i call an ingenius solution:thumbup:
  13. i thought water ingress is covered as they are supposed to check it during each service as its a known design flaw. If it isnt covered then its just an insult to the user as we continue to service from skoda and folk out the extra bucks
  14. Thanks dude. Both lappys i have tried were HP nc series ones. Will try to pickup a old samsung with a serial connection and try my luck with that. If that doesnt work then i will go with a new cable although i am in agreement with you, it will be a long shot. With summer approaching having total enclosure is a God send
  15. If you have had it regularly serviced from skoda then you should be covered mate
  16. I actually done as you said as soon as you posted the win98 boot disc post. Downloaded and burnt ISO onto a CD, run the install and run vdc pro from the HD. Might try another lappy (borrow one from work). Would the serial port need to be configured from DOS first. I disabled most things from the BIOS too.
  17. RHD has gotta be the right way:rofl:Gear stick is on the correct side:D for right handed drivers...
  18. ignition was on as per vagcom requirement. which cable did you get (from ebay?). i'll get the exact same one.
  19. cheeze, there is someone at last. I am your best friend now:rofl: felt left out on this forum:rofl:
