  1. Sorry to hear it dude, my condolences and big manly hugs to you and your family! x
  2. Mt Taranaki is stunning (saw it from the air en route to Wellington from Auckland) and briefly as I headed from New Plymouth to Taupo. Have you also taught Noodle to map read?!
  3. Yep, Matty Smith should have stayed, can't see Pryce being fully fit for a long while. Need some experience to help out Lomax and Gaskell, but our new signing will be awesome!! Unfortunately, I think the Wolves too (much to the pleasure of my housemate!)
  4. Oh dear Kit, you have gone down in estimation he he!
  5. The mighty St Helens! And am I glad that Potter has gone, er yes! Now for Eastmond to scuttle off and make way for Hohaihia as his replacement
  6. Damo, how's the foot? Any developments? Had it x-rayed yet?
  7. You're welcome Damo! Wish I'd had a pic taken of me yetserday in my massage practical exam, as you do work up a sweat doing a full 1hr body massage, so I had a headband round me bonce like the Karate Kid (minus any red dots or rising sun tho!).
  8. Redeployment for me, which I'm seeing as a huuuuuge positive! Now drawing up a list of training courses and possible secondments I'd like to do!
  9. Sounds like a good write up there Matt , what do you do for a living?
  10. oustanding? Nil points. Dix points for pain by the sounds of it!
  11. Miyagi, X-ray I would say just to be sure, but the cracking noise doesn't necessarily mean a fracture, as ligaments can also make that noise (from my own experience having torn my Syndesmosis), and could account for the weakness. What does the swelling and/bruising look like now? The second time your foot/ankle "went", did it collapse in a certain direction? Clunks and clicks can just be soft tissues (tendons, ligaments, muscles etc) moving over each other or bony structures, not necessarily anything sinister In the meantime, try as hard as you can to walk normally without a limp (first thing my physio said to me with my ankle, basically I was being a big wuss and she was right! :p ), and do hot and cold treatment on the ankle (2 minutes hot immediately followed by 2 minutes cold, do this 3 times) to stimulate the blood flow and flush any toxins away from the area and aid the flow of nutrients to your ankle. Worked a treat for me, I was back up and running in 4 weeks!
  12. Nick, I don't like the sound of their bedside manner! Oeer! In training, we are told that if a client comes to you with a problem, you don't suck your teeth and go oooo! :(
  13. Beast! I thought Buster (my Bro in Law monikered him "cooking fat", lovely bit of rhyming slang!) was big, bit I think he is much more compliant than Skanky
  14. Mr Miyagi (I guess Evil is your first name?!) :p , I'm training to be a massage therapist at the mo, so while I have not yet qualified (June) or would count myself as an expert, I could give you some advice? So, what have you done and how do you think you have done it?
  15. you don't live down near Bodmin Moor by any chance? if so, I think I might have solved the mystery of the Beast of Bodmin moor! he is a monster, but looks daft as a brush! My parents use the "bagpipes" technique to hold their cat (who is a legend in my book after waking them at 3am this morning with a rabbit he brought in to play with! poor rabbit, but glad he's keeping the pensioner's on their toes!), when it's time for a pill. Other than that he is very compliant and even holds his paw up for you to look at when he's hurt it in a scrap (milking it, the little get!). I'll give you a hand with Skanky if you want, just let me pop to the nearest museum first - body armour required!
  16. I'm on Sky, been pretty good so far, BT are driving my Dad mad (very slow and intermittent), so Sky wins for me every time! I would never go back to BT!
  17. I've just ordered the Desire from Vodafone. Was tempted by the Desire HD, but felt a bit too big and bulky for my liking, and the Desire was 5 quid a month cheaper for same minutes etc!
  18. Howabout a 335d? I can't wait for my mate to take me for a spin in his original 205 gti (1.9 version, 16v engine. 170bhp in a car weighing only 900kg!! Woohoo!).
  19. Glad it put a smile on your face, but Public and Private sector are different animals, where in the public sector it is harder to got profits, as often public sector bodies are to work for the good of the people (in theory) and any charges they make for their services are reined in as it's not seen as fair play to see a govt body profiteering from tax payers. Having said that, I think that the new public sector could do with adopting some private sector practices to make it leaner, meaner and more efficient. I'm going for the career change, and I think anyone who has the balls to do so should be encouraged and supported morally (not necessarily financially!), rather than sticking my head in the sand!
  20. From experience, PMA is the way forward!
  21. None for me, thanks to the public sector pay freeze, but to be expected really! Therefore I am taking the situation by the horns and heading off to nightschool in a couple of weekes to do my Swedish massage qualifications, and then afterwards, my sports massage qualifications! Change of career? Who knows! But will be great fun learning and hopefully at least lead to an extra income on the side!
