  9. Hi all for my next car which was going to be a fabia vrs but now a Octavia vrs I will be looking to uprate the intercooler. In my last Octavia I had a forge twintercooler and found it be good but was always worried about the amount it obstructed the standard radiator. I have been looking at various options for replacing the standard unit. (I am not ruling out another twintercooler just merely looking at all the other options) i was wondering what people opinions and experiances are with the following options: S3 intercooler forge THS Pro Alloy Cheers Mike

  13. Hi I am currently in the process of choosing a car to replace my now high mileage St. I have previously had a stage 2 tfsi Octavia VRS and loved it. At the moment I am trying to decide whether to go down the new furby VRS route or get myself a new tsi dsg VRS Octavia. I will be mapping both cars to stage 1 (shark performance map) so am looking at about 200bhp and 250 respectively. My question is which would be quicker and what would you choose?
  14. thank you everyone for your help and responses it is much appreciated
  15. i mean by take off from the lights and in gear times, i dont care about top end when am i ever going to do more than 90mph in the current climate. I had a manual vrs on a stage 2 and it was very quick I was wondering if the dsg would be as quick
  16. Hi, I'm am currently in the process of ordering a replacement for my current car and would very much like a new VRS with the tsi engine and dsg gearbox. I am a little confused by the conflicting figures I have been seeing for the dsg box and manual. The official figures for the manual box seem to indicate that it is faster and more fuel efficent than the dsg. Is this correct as this is contrary to what I believed. I was of the opinion that the dsg was quicker and more efficient than the manual. Does anyone have any figures for.MPG and performance that prove otherwise? Cheers Mike
  17. I own a ford Mondeo St tdci. And the EGR is regular pain in the arse on these cars. Mine is a euro 4 which means when I blanked off the egr the engine management light comes on. When I placed an 8mm hole in the blank it resolved the problem of the engine light but introduced a new problem the egr was opening Moe often to account foe the reduced gas flow. When dynoed when blaned with hole it made 192 bhp without the blank and with a cleaned inlet manifold and egr it 201 bhp. It was not a big difference but the engine was far more responsive. If I was you I would check to se if your car is euro 3 or 4 before blanking and definitely clean the manifold.
  18. this patch our then 6 month old collie cross
  19. i have blanked off the EGR on my ford mondeo tdci and this has the effect of sharpening throttle response and stopping ****e from the exhaust system going back in to the intake manifold
  20. i had a 06 tfsi with a Jabbasport custom remap and always ran mine on 99 octane as i found i got much better fuel returns and the car drove a lot better
  21. its going like a dream mate, i has amd remap and have just removed the cat and installed a decat. The next job is to install the new airtec intercooler and the focus st brakes as the standard ones are utter cr@p. What are you looking to treat yourself to now you've got rid of the VRS?
  22. i feel for you as its something i have to put up with every night as i am night worker for London Underground, its seems like i get cut up by every mental degenerate out there. best regards, mike
