  1. Well the Superb is more of a limo and the VRS is .... Well a VRS ... Never had the suspension compress enough to produce a bang. Can you point us via say Google Maps to the bit of road and let us know what kind of speed you were doing ?
  2. If you drive your car like a Grandad ! Well I can categorically say I don't drive my car like a Grandad ! Maybe people are driving too enthusiastically and should be on a track ? I'm coming from Westfield, Sylva Striker, TVR and a Dax Tojeiro.
  3. Strange would be interesting to have a drive in one of the posters cars who isnt happy to see how it differs from my setup.
  4. Keep us posted I'm just coming up on 5 years and not had that problem. I have just purchased a year 6 warranty though so have some peace of mind ... Yes I would mention it.
  5. What you reckon to the Conti's ? I'm down to 3mm front and 4mm back on the PS4's. Love them but they will probably have lasted close to half the distance of the factory fit Dunlop's. Cant decided if I just want to bite the bullet and go for PS4 again or look for something that might last a bit longer .... To be honest i'm sick of watching tyre vids ...
  6. I've had my 280 without adaptive suspension from new for 5 years now. Must be something wrong with your car because mines not like that.
  7. Let us know how surprised you are when quickly ( well as quickly as you can ) accelerating away from a wet, greasy, slippery island
  8. Yeah Rainworth in Sheffield ( previous Bickertons ) have always been fantastic for me been using them since 2002. I'm still friends with some of the staff years after they have left !
  9. post edited above while your replied.
  10. Did the car go straight from the dealer to your detailed ? edit to say.... Yes I see from an older post it probably did. Well if it was me I would be taking a long and hard look at the paint and asking myself could I live with it if it’s hardly visible ? If the answer was no then I would be handing the car back no way would I be knowingly having that amount of paint redone on my new car.
  11. Well good for him I say I'm certainly subscribed and enjoy his content so I guess I must be daft. Maybe he will start going down market a bit and swap some of the Supercars for smaller engined diesels ? Edited for lots of wrong words !!
  12. I think Mr JWW comes from a very wealthy background. Doesn't strike me as been full of himself though just a petrolhead.
  13. I think the YouTuber comment is a bit sweeping ... Harry's Gararge .. High Peak Autos ..Mr JWW just a few that spring immediately to mind.
  14. Well looks like I'm doing my own cleaning this weekend !
  15. Mods : Can we change the thread title to ' I Once Lived With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch '
  16. Ooohhhh.... Well that’s a surprise ! You didn’t keep that long ! I’m just coming up on 5 years with not even the slightest interest in changing. Mind you my car does have exhaust flaps....... Guess we can put this thread to bed now then ? See you soon in my rear view mirror !
  17. Any recommendations ? Cheers
  18. I was generalising.
  19. Sorry guys missed your posts ! I really am getting sick and tired of Pistonheads it's toxic.... Dont suppose you guys are gamers as well are you ?
  20. Well you asked and I told There is no right or wrong way just drive the car as you see fit.
  21. Hi Skud... Not read Shy's response yet but I would typically us the paddles both in manual mode and to override the DSG : Going down hill say drop into 3rd if I feel I need more control / engine braking Approaching a hazard that I consider needs a lower gear Islands ( not always it depends on the island slotting into sport also works ) When 'pressing on' - Sport mode does an OK job but sometimes I like the option of doing it myself especially on decent driving roads Paddles - No need to remove hands from wheel in manual mode Overtakes it all depends on the situation of course I may use manual mode with the paddles if it suits that particular overtake Yeah I just dont take fuel into consideration .... I only do around 7k a year if it was a problem I would have gone for a 1.5
  22. Eco mode. Have to say apart from having a go once or twice to see if I could eek a bit more fuel out of the beast I’ve never used it. Just goes to show how people drive differently I suppose. I never use eco and paddles are used multiple times on every journey. You use eco all the time and never use the paddles.
  23. I've had paddles from new and would not be without them. I literally use them all the time in fact knowing what I know now it would be a deal breaker for me not to have them.
  24. First time out of the Superb forum in a long time is it a friendly place in here ?
