Ahhhhhh Silver thank you - have you experienced this yourself? Couldn't find any threads on the subject on the forums Do you know if they do this by design, or is it a faulty something or other? -

I think the stealer's done something to it when they 'fixed' the other problem! Going anywhere near them fills me with dread When I bought this one, the 'sales professional' told me categorically that the Columbus didn't have a hard drive - despite me pulling up the menu that showed free space available. Even better, when on a test drive I enquired exactly how the tyre pressure monitor worked, he told me that that button was to reset the warning when the washer fluid runs low!! Monkeys -

For real fun I stick with two wheels :-) The big girl handles just fine for what it is, and I appreciate it's built for comfort, but I should be able to enjoy the undulations of a nice road, especially when I'm hardly on the gas This cut in power happens on any undulating road at any gear at any revs as the car comes down the other side of a crest. Does it whether my foot's hard into the throttle or just touching it Can't recall my other Superb doing it, nor my Octavia or Fabia - or any other VAG group motors -

Honeymoon period quickly coming to an end

Hello All Honeymoon period coming quickly to an end with my 170 elegance Sat on a hot day in traffic for a couple of hours with aircon on - next morning engine light and exhaust light on, lacking power. Had it diagnosed, some auxiliary cooling pump's knackered. Less than 35k on the clock! Rubbish Was driving in a spirited fashion at 3am on a great A road the other night and noticed that it's impossible to have any fun in this barge. I realise that loss of traction causes a cut in power unless I've overridden the stability/traction system, but even when cresting a gentle hill the power is cut as the car goes down the dip on the other side. No loss of traction, as can replicate even when tickling the throttle in 6th. Overriding the system makes no difference. Quite disconcerting that for a second or two I've no power Anybody else experienced this? It's as if it's a safety system cutting fuel as if it thinks I'm about to crash Trying to ascertain if this is normal or not Sam -
Think I've sussed it........... I had the car cleaned by some Eastern European friends, who appear to have used something like Rainex all over it. The water is beading massively, and I reckon as it comes up over the right side of the screen it's just too heavy and drops inside in huge globs. Whatever they used, I appear to be able to drive in heavy rain and not even need to use the wipers :-) As a biker who doesn't really like cages (despite the Superb being a good motor) - I often drive with the windows open as I like the wind noise and hate using the blowers and the air con

I heard a good one on a conf call at work the other day........someone said to another guy, "JFDI'..........when I enquired as to the meaning of this four letter acronym they enlightened me that it stood for 'Just ******* Do It'

Good trick here is to use the hairdryer as the DJ did, but then get a bit of dental floss behind there and carve the old ones off..............works great. I turned a few Fabia's into Labia's this way

Does anyone else have an issue whereby at over 40mph in the rain with the wipers on, as soon as you open the drivers window even an inch, rain water just pours in all over the inside door panel / window? I've checked around the screen to see if I'm missing a bit of trim, but all fine This didn't start happening until a few days ago, and I can't for the life of me think of a reason. Doesn't happen on the passenger side, but then the wipers don't load up the water over there Sam

Bloody useless size! -
I just upgraded the Bluetooth module under the chair on mine, and can now stream audio from the iPhone to the Columbus via Bluetooth - sound comes from the right channel only Mines an early Superb II from late 2008, so I needed to upgrade the module as it only supported RSaP which Apple don't play with. I haven't got any control of the media on the phone from the head unit or the MFD, but it doesn't bother me as my upgrade was to enable hands free calling solely Not sure if yours is a new model or an early one like mine?

Boom! That took all of 8 minutes to whip out the old, chuck in the new and get the iPhone4 connected and contacts imported. Works very well, call receivers reporting good sound quality. A stupidly simple plug and play upgrade! My 170 E was one of the first off the line from 2008 and had a 5KO********A module under the chair The 3C8*******B has given me great iPhone integration, with voice search and calling. It streams phone media via Bluetooth but only out of the right channel - no big shakes Another member hugely grateful for Al starting this thread :-) Quick question - I have a square instead of a battery indicator on the MFD? Is that because a Columbus s/w upgrade is needed? I also can't voice command the nav - not really fussed, but as the web is littered with Columbus s/w and map updates, is it worth doing? Sam -

About to throw a 3C8035730B at my Dec 08 Superb so I can use iPhones with it What's the opinion on disconnecting the battery? Is it necessary or can I just swap the units out without the key in the ignition? -

Yep - both should come on. Really dislike the white compared to my old Superb's reds

I researched this one to no avail Ray. I tried every format possible, copying files from SD card to HDD but ended up concluding that the only way to view video on the Columbus is via a DVD in the optical drive Shame

Looks like they've lost their status........... seems to be some change to the signage going on, not sure they're able to sell new cars anymore.........may just be a service centre? Anybody know anything?
