Anyone on "Amitriptyline" tablets.......
Evening Star replied to Auric Goldfinger's topic in The Roadside Hotel
Nah, just thought the natives will eat them & the pigeon. -
Just don't accept any so called upgrade of the OS. Personally I wouldn't touch one for the foreseeable future, until the phone fashionista's & early adopters have paid the most money & found all of the bugs for me and done the "in the field testing".

It's a darn good job you can't hear the language in the signalboxes when someone leaves a single yellow out in the fog at night when the leaves are down doing the ton, only to find that after you've slid for ½-¾ mile you've got a green on the next one! Basingstoke, Eastleigh & Woking are prime ones for that! -
I saw that & kept hoping that someone would either run him over or give the **** a good whacking.

Some of our trainees have to drive at 100mph whilst learning. Then there's leaves on the line, whilst driving at 100mph, the problem then comes trying to stop the ****** thing, so whereas your normal stopping distance in the dry/good conditions from 100mph maybe ½ -¾ mile, you may have to increase that by 25-33% to compensate for the sliding as it's like driving on ice. -
I find that using reverse on my DSG is an art that I can never quite get right, I do it but it sometimes starts with a bit of lurch.

The benefit of not having indicators in the mirror is that is some brainless clart whacks & breaks your wing mirror you still have indicators on the side of your car. It also makes replacement cheaper! -
I doubt the do any blasted testing with the problems I've had with my SGS2 since I "upgraded" its firmware. 1. Bluetooth streaming & Handsfree to car - No streaming until I spent an extra £20 on a new dongle & BlueSoleil 8 software. 2. Gallery/Camera - Freezes or camera will not start as is it keeps saying media scanning! 3. Switching on GPS/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi - Freezes or crashes or just nothing happens at all until I restart the phone. 4. Messaging/Email - Getting told there's a txt or email when there isn't or receiving a txt or email reading it and it still tells me that there's a number of unread messages. 5. Wi-Fi - Random connections & disconnections, when it's a matter of a couple of feet away from a wireless router that it's been "paired" with. 6. Signal - drops phone signal slightly less frequently than a Guildford girl drops her draws on a Friday night on Bridge St. It took 5 attempts to connect with Samsung to report all of the problems. 7. Screen slide switches - regularly don't work. 8. Screens - regularly going black & freezes instead of flicking over to the next or home screen.

See ya! Nothing wrong with that at all, it's slight mix of Mondeo and Octavia. As long as the build quality is there and they do a decently specced DSG version, I might buy one. I await the reviews! -
One way to deter them is to ask for the camera's calibration certificate (they're required to have one by law!), it must be tested every so often as well to ensure accuracy. I've been flashed more than "twice" once on the Eastern Road in Portsmouth, rung Hants Constabulary and gave them my details, they were excellent and called me back the next day to say it wasn't me that it flashed it was the car beside me in the outside lane. The second one was a camera in Guildford, approached a set of traffic lights and as I stopped if flashed me, in my surprise I let the car roll backwards & it flashed me again! I moved forward slightly & flashed again! 3 times on one camera, when I was stopped at the stop line on a red. The lights changed I & another car got flashed again making it 4 times. So I rung up Mount Brown (Surrey Police HQ) and complained about being flashed 4 times by the camera, when I hadn't crossed the stop line. Again the next day I got a call from them apologizing saying that there was a fault with the camera and that I wouldn't be hearing from them as it was proven that I had stopped the right side of the line. Shortly afterwards that camera was covered up & later removed.

Well if the new Octavia will be bigger than the existing model, then I don't really want to know. This one (the rapid) which is said to be approximately the same size as the current Octavia will suit me perfectly. -

Any one experience of Simply Electronics?

If you are after a camera lens for a DSLR then I would recommend Onestop Digital. I've used them several times and always had good customer service, got stung once for VAT & Duty, but that gets (& got) refunded if you send them the bill. -
More fool you then. Samsung's customer service is bloody abysmal, their Kies software is rubbish. I bought a SGS2 sim-free, as I didn't want to be tied into a contract, I like every sim-free owner should have by rights been the first to get ICS, however Samsung decided that we were to be the last, that's despite sim-free users paying for the phone upfront! Now I have ICS, my phone is bug ridden and constantly freezing, due to Samsung's abysmal version of ICS being bug ridden trash. I have complained to them, where have I got? Nowhere! Will I be buying a SGS3? Nope. It's plasticky, has an awful case with no grip texturing on the back which will mean it will be dead easy to drop & damage, especially if the bezel is as thin as it is, their customer service sucks BIG TIME, their batteries are poor, their software rubbish. Want anymore reasons NOT to buy one or are you just a blind phone fashionista?
