  1. A warranty is a 50/50 chance thing and by law of sod the thing that breaks/fails in the warranty period will not be covered. I've only once taken out an extended warranty on a car & the one thing that failed wasn't covered. Never again.
  2. Black, Red, Storm Blue or Rallye Green would be good too (for a coupé or vRS version anyway)
  3. Well that was stupid wasn't it. You could have quite easily sent it back to Logitech under warranty or bought a replacement receiver for around a tenner.
  4. Well you can buy one, how long it will last is a different matter. The durability of such things is usually questionable at best, if you buy cheap it doesn't usually last very long, hence a false economy. I've done it in the past and in the end I relented and paid the extra and bought some quality kit, the most I've paid for a mouse & keyboard combo is £125, that was for a Logitech Bluetooth set, I still have it sans the Bluetooth dongle which I snapped off, I can use it with a standard Bluetooth dongle, but it's exceptionally heavy compared to the new 2.4Ghz wireless stuff so I use the newer wireless stuff which is cheaper at £65 and isn't such a pain in the bum to setup & it doesn't eat batteries like the Bluetooth stuff. In fact this current set up of Logitech MK700 & M705 mouse is still on the original set of batteries 16 months after I bought & installed it and it's still on 75% battery for keyboard & 40% mouse.

  6. I would recommend that you get one with direction buttons on it, it makes web browsing a real breeze. It's well worth paying the extra for it.
  7. Arial is a font type. Aerial is otherwise known as an antenna. Ariel is a household detergent.
  8. Buying cheap is often a false economy as you won't get the levels of support that you do from the likes of M$ & Logitech et al.
  9. Android doesn't support r-SAP natively, you'll need to either root your phone or use a specialist app.
  10. I've had a look at them and then had a look at some of the reviews, they're OK, not outstanding though. I've had a look at Sony, but for some inexplicable reason they have a cable sticking out of the side of them and you have to poke into the camcorder grip for storage. To me that is just asking to be hooked & ripped off! So that's a definite NO!
  11. L&G. I'm looking for a HD Camcorder, which shoots in 1920 x 1080p, preferably in AVCHD or MP4 formats. I have a maximum budget of £800, maybe £825 absolute maximum. Any suggestions/recommendations please?
  12. Yes it will because it was a part of the exhaust system when it was built, it is classed the same as a catalytic converter on a petrol car. The rules now state that it if was there when it was built it has to be there on test. Otherwise it's a fail, http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/legal--motoring-advice/2011-12/new-mot-rules/ This also sub-links into the AA website.
  13. You do realise that removing the DPF will result in the car failing an MOT. (As of 01/01/12)
  14. I had the same thing I just keep a check on it once in a while. The problem being with me is I live on a hill so can't check it at home so have to take it to work or the station car park, leave it there, where it's 99% flat and then do a test for the oil level after it has gone cold & just had a small amount if required. I would hardly call adding oil to a car worrying, it's bound to use some.
  15. Yes it has been discontinued in the current Octavia range, it still exists in the Superb & Yeti ranges, it might be exhumed for the next generation of Octavia's aka Octavia III.
  16. I agree with you darren. The engine range is a tad disappointing & what I find more disappointing is that there are no photos of the interior of the car & the what the equipment levels are. I really do think that the 1.4 (122) will be underpowered for a car of this size.
  17. Turn it off then whilst holding the Volume Key UP + the Home button in, press & hold the power button. No tapping of any keys is required. Find Clear cache, select it & let it do that first. Then do the factory wipe (select Yes) and then restart it. If that doesn't work do those two again, but this time don't let it reboot, take the battery out for a MINIMUM of 15 minutes and then try restarting it.
  18. OK, I'll wait to see what the 5th engine is, now lets just hope we can get some decent specifications like heated seats, cruise control, dual zone climate control etc.
  19. Mmm. Like the look of it, don't like the engine line up. I think that the 1.4 (122) maybe slightly underpowered.
  20. I'm a scamera spotter for a well know scamera website and the number of places I've seen them being used in and around Guildford is quiet varied. In fact I would say the way some are parked the legality of which could be quite dubious. On sitting on a traffic island near the Spectrum sports centre, another near the Girls school on London Road at NIGHT, on the entrance to a roundabout on the A3100 near Burpham, scanning traffic coming past the shopping parade. Trodds Lane, Merrow, they hide under the bushes near the Golf course & so on. Another place you'll start to see them a lot will be the A24 Dorking - Mickleham bypass, until recently it was 70 mph, they have now reduced it to 50 after two pillocks who didn't drive according to the prevailing weather conditions got killed after the cars they were driving aquaplaned & flipped over, plus another idiot pedestrian decided to run across it and he got owned by a van doing the legal limit. Still anything for a little ££££.
  21. You have to ask yourself these to decide/eliminate phones. 1. Do you want to expand your phone's memory capacity? - That eliminates HTC One X & Iphones. 2. Do you want to be able to replace your battery? - That eliminates HTC One X & Iphones. 3, Do you want a decent camera? - That eliminates the lower end of the market, look for 8mp or more. 4. Do you want to be able to transfer files (music & pdf files), use it with car hands free systems listen to music via Bluetooth - That eliminates the Iphone. Avoid Symbian & Bada OS's they're pretty much redundant.
  22. It's just if you can know the weight of it you can work out very roughly what it will go like. So if you were to take 30-40kg off of the Octavia's weight, then you should be looking at a ballpark figure of 8½-9 secs.
