    The shakey idle for the MPi is perfectly normal and well documented. However it sounds like your timing chain is up for replacement, this will help idle stability a bit.
    The evap fault is unrelated. It could be the purge valve but equally the charcoal canister might be at the end of its useful life.

    It's the same as setting one touch. With the window already up pull the up switch again until you hear the motor click.

    Green mineral fluid only, it's not expensive from a dealer but ECP will stock too.

    Yeah it's a crap idea. They quite often seize up and used to snap on the 3B Passat. Teflon coated bushing helped with them getting stiff.

    Pull the red tab back (looks like it is already) and then with your thumb pull back on the tab. Sometimes a push in first will help.

    I'd check the wiring to the PAS pump. It's loosing it's permanent live for some reason.

    No coding etc required for rear discs. Simple swap over of the rear beam and handbrake cables.

    You don't need to remove the carrier to change the discs.

    Might find the gas is low. Normally get a whooshing or bubbling noise coming from the evaporator when it's dropped a bit.

    With CAN based wiring for the lights you can't just tap into the wiring.

    You won't have the required wiring. If you want it I'd just get a kit and go from there.

    You would need to make the looms and wire them into the airbag ECU (if its compatable) and then enable them via the coding of the unit.

    If they sweep to the normal position but dont park in the right place then its more than likely the park switch has given up in the motor. Will require a new motor.
