  1. My Brisky sticker is below the rear number plate...
  2. is looking forward to going home... now Mr Customer, may I leave early please :-)

  3. I think the only way to do is is to disable rSAP and use as a normal handsfree. This means the phone receives the signal etc instead of the car....
  4. You have to use 507.00 spec oil as the car has a DPF so it doesn't matter whether you're on variable or fixed servicing...
  5. No No No No No No and No. Don't put these useless worthless expensive hunks of rubber on the car Had these Dunlops on the car from the factory and the fronts lasted 8500 miles. Have the Pirellis on now and got 14500 from them so far (will need replacing soon) Agree with going for the Michelins or for a cheaper tyre look for the Vredstein Sessantas. I got about 18000 out of the Vredsteins on the fronts before a pothole incident crippled one of them (were close to being replaced anyway) and the Pirellis went on as I needed tyres there and then and my local Kwik-Rob didn't have the Michelins in stock that day
  6. You can still do the left-right-left indicator flash by puhing the stalk all the way up and down, the 3 flashes only activates if you push the stalk halfway (i.e. before the click)
  7. Do you have maxidot? If so you can find out the Fiscon version in there. Fiscon changed the hardware at some point so the firmware upgrade you (may) need depends on the hardware version you've got...
  8. That's all you should need, you may be able to find a kit that has dish and cable, but if not, then the cable isn't that expensive... Might not need to worry about postage, Hinckley isn't that far out of the way for me when going to various customers so may be able to sort out a time to drop it off on the way home one evening... Let me know when you have dish and cable etc and we can sort something out...
  9. If you've got a dish, the cable and the freesat box then I have a signal meter you can borrow if you want... I bought it when I moved into my current house last year and it hasn't been used since...
  10. Assuming your phone is branded by your network operator then this is correct.... assuming the operator actually makes it available. The 2.2 update was delayed by the operators for ages after it was released by HTC...
  11. Er, won't the engine be the same? Or am I missing something obvious here?
  12. I use standard Shell fuelsave diesel with no problems (although I'm aware the CR has less DPF issues in the first place). I really don't see the point in the premium diesels for the vRS as I didn't notice any difference in performance and negligible MPG difference...
  13. Only trouble with that is the flashing orange light on the dash pod is annoying
  14. 30000 miles a year to break even? What engines were they comparing? What was the time scale they were using for this comparison? I looked at the 1.8 TSi and the petrol vRS before getting my diesel. From memory (I don't have the spreadsheet i used with me), over three years I only had to average 14000 miles a year for the diesel to break even over the petrol vRS and about 18000 miles a year to break even against the 1.8TSi (Elegance with sports suspension) Anyway, as my 19month old car has just over 43k on the clock I'm not that far off the 30K a year Auto Express claim I need. Agreed, you should do the sums before buying a diesel, especially if you're a low mileage driver but the 30K a year sounds high to me...

I had the "Ozzy Osbourne" voice for a while... Was quite amusing although the time I gave a couple of elderly church goers a lift somewhere and Ozzy told me to "turn right at the end of the F**king road" was a little embarrassing
  16. If it bothered me not having 5 stars ten i wouldn't have bought one... The crash structure is sound enough but because most of the range doesn't get curtain airbags or stability control as standard fit items the car only got 4 stars. Add these as options and you have a car that would have achieved 5 stars...
  17. Because i don't wait for tyres to get to the legal limit before I replace them...
  18. About 8500 on the factory fit Dunlops, about 18K on the Vredstein Sessantas and 15K so far on the Pirelli P Zero Rosso which are now down to 3mm so due for replacement...
  19. That's impressive, according to the website they will remap the diesel vRS to 170HP
  20. I refuse to subscribe to Sky (I have Freesat and freeview at home) and have watched F1 for the last 30 odd years on the BBC and ITV (and Eurosport for a while too) and next season looks like highlights shows for me which will be a real shame as the F1 is about the only thing I make sure I don't miss My other half has Virgin media and I have no idea if you can get Sky Sports on that but even if you can, I'd still be providing Murdoch with income which I really don't want to do...
  21. Except DTD don't seem to be doing Skoda orders anymore...
  22. I studied in Newcastle and loved it up there, would have stayed if I'd have found a decent job up there, unfortunately I didn't so ended up back home in the Midlands...
  23. My job mainly involves working out how to backup the data stored on large storage systems but I also install NetApp kit and the last one I installedn was a total of 27TB split across 2 sites...
  24. To be fair, Skoda/VW don't really have a choice in the matter. All modern diesels from all manufacturers now have a DPF thanks the the EU. I've not had any problems with mine and I don't spend a great deal of time "spanking" it - admittedly, the majority of the 40000 miles on mine are motorway miles so I'm unlikely to have any issues, but the CR engines were designed with a DPF in mind rather than having them bolted on afterwards like the PD engines did so there should be far fewer issues.
  25. wants today to be over already
