  1. Windscreen leaks badly also check the heater box drain as they block up and water then gets drawn into the heater itself. Clean all the glass with good glass cleaner too.
  2. Think the drive plate touches the flywheel bolts when its wrong way around. I cant see any witness marks to suggest that has happened tbf. Possibly just a badly machined unit with a warped pressure plate ? Pain in the arse either way tho
  3. Flywheels will always have hot spots tho but you say the friction plate "might have" been fitted wrong way around?. It either was or wasn't and id hope that was spotted and pictured when it was stripped down tbh. From the look of it possibly the pressure plate is not flat, whats it look like with a straight edge across the friction face?
  4. Alternator is what he meant but for some dyslexia isnt just about reading it is also about writing and pronunciation of some words. Give me a pen and nobody can understand what i write. But there is no need to have a go at somebody and sometimes your (ricardo) posts come across as very harsh, due mainly to the language barrier i guess. Even hard to understand help is STILL help. I dont get involved much in here lately as my brain is still on half power from the chemo and i find my attention span is tiny but everyone should help each other and at least try to get along.
  5. Fire. .. to totally clran the inlet manifolds i usually soak in red diesel for a few hours then put the manifold on a shovel and light it with a blow torch. It burns the majority of the built up carbon away and turns the remaining bits to powder that can be removed with a small wire brush. Worked on the last 4 or 5 i did with no problems. Anything left in there will just crumble away when you scrape at it afterwards much less messy
  6. Are you actually going to build it into a proper stage rally car or just a look a lkke? Rollcages are available from safety devices, suspension is a bit more difficult but plenty about that will fit etc. Gaurds can be made if your handy.

  8. Yes should be fine the abs ring should fit on the rear disk hub. The abs mastercylinder is the biggest available so shoukd be up to the job.
  9. Oh dear that's a bit of a mess all round.. in pic 8 you can just see the end of the electric fuel pump towards the rad. No idea why the heater inlet would be blanked off. Pic 9 is the pipe for the headlight adjuster. Just tuck it out of the way and ignore that judging by the rest of the pics it's the least of your problems.
  10. Yup that's knackered. Fitting std replacement ones is a pain but the 2 peice powerflex ones is simple.
  11. They do and are an arse to replace too. But usually when someone has been driving around with the rear bush busted for ages..
  12. Usual story I'm afraid and they all have plastic ends where it fits into the alloy tube. The tube corrodes and grips tighter so either gently drill them or melt them out if they have broken oak flush
  13. The score is surely from the side of the piston where it's broken away ?
  14. Does that chip in the bowl go thru to the hole above the gudgeon pin? It almost looks melted above the bush.
  15. Clutch had done 100k by then and handled it ok but I could provoke it to slip if I tried hard.
  16. Personally I would see if there is any fuel pressure at the throttle body first. You could remove the air filter and dribble a bit of fuel straight down the throttle body and starting it, that would show if it's sparking properly if it starts and runs for a couple of seconds, If it's sparking it must be receiving a crank pulse.
  17. What difference do the later pd pistons have ? I was thinking about the ones designed for the dpf and the hotter temperatures involved when that's having a regen and if they are coated or anything?
  18. Pretty sure the first mpi ones we had here were on a "R" reg but I'm not here to argue lol. Pretty sure we were a year or so behind the rest of Europe getting the first fellys. "M" was the first of them were had new favs and fellys lined up together.
  19. Yeh sorry 95.. chemo brain at the moment. We didn't get the mpi until late 97 over here.
  20. It's "n" reg which in this country means it is 1994. So yes we do have that information.
  21. For reference the favorite ecu with no immobiliser in it will fit and work on the spi fellys you just have to file a locating lug out of the socket. I'm thinking crank sensor on a whim but easy enough to start with the basics. Does it have a spark when cranking ?
  22. It would be a bosch ech on that tho wouldn't it?.The immobiliser will let the engine start and run for 3 seconds before cutting it out and would not make the engine cut out once it was running.
