  1. Beautiful outfit, really miss my bikes, had a CX500 with a chair, great fun.
  2. Been a bit siack in the oil checking department, after 2000 or so miles my oil is about halfway down the dipstick, reminds me of a GPZ550 motorbike I had once, I used to top up the oil evbery 500 - 1000 miles. Mark
  3. Since I have had an oil leak fixed I can hear a slight whirring from the engine around 2000rpm, I'm assuming it's the turbo, by the way Ross are you really getting 33.5 mpg out of your Fabia? I'm getting that and yours is a smaller car.
  4. I noticed when What Car compared the Juke, Countryman and Yeti the Nissan inevitably won - must be a love affair with Nissan, the Yeti was second and the Countryman 3rd. Strangely enough the gripe about the ride quality and noise was gone, the only complaint they had was price. It was a 1.8 SE they tested.
  5. Congratulations roymac, I'll keep an eye open for you.
  6. Got my baby back today, apparently a leak from the inlet manifold. According to Skoda, 1.5 litres of oil usage in 8000 miles isn't excessive.
  7. I have been told they are changing the manifold gaskets and possibly another one but not sure, allI know is one gasket is on back order, when I know more I will let you know.
  8. I am Yeti less as my little monster is in the workshop to try to find out where she is leaking oil. The last I heard they couldn't identify where the leak was coming from so were having to send pictures and readouts to Skoda. I've been givren a Fabia to use but I sooooo miss my little monster.
  9. Hi Roymac, I live just north of Bridgend so no doubt will see you around, the only yeti's I've seen in the area apart from mine are a silver one around Llantwit area and a steel grey one I've passed on the M4 a few times. There is a Pacific blue Yeti that parks near my office in Cardiff and it is a nice colour that suits the yeti, not too different from the storm blue colour except for the metallic finish.
  10. I have put in over 1.5 litres over the last few months and 8400 miles. I got my monster checked out and they found a slight oil leak around the exhaust area, it's going in next week to get pinpointed and sorted.
  11. If you don't have a spare wheel or variable boot floor there is a problem using a cage in the boot, the cage will fit perfectly but you cannot open the door of the cage to let the dog get in or out. A bit off topic but it may come in useful for someone.
  12. The locks have probably been set to open the drivers door on first press then all the other doors on a second press, the boot also has a release button on the key fob, this is done as a security measure to stop people sneaking in your car whilst you have your back turned like filling up at a pay at the pump petrol station etc. on cars with maxidot and I think the SE has this the settings can be altered to the normal all doors open on 1 press setting. My car came set up as standard with the drivers door only opening and I had to change it on the menu. Mark
  13. Welcome to the South Wales Chapter of the SMOC Mark
  14. Motorway driving in mine about 36-37 mpg at pretty much the legal limit. It looks to me that short journeys hit the fuel consumption and the biggest problem with the 1.2 engine is that it cries out at you to rev it and have some fun.
  15. The best I have got with mine is an indicated 40.5 mpg on my 22 mile commute to work. It is regularly showing 37 mpg on this run which is a mix of motorway, a roads and suburban city traffic and similar on a longish motorway run with cruise control set to 70 as indicated by my satnav, although this did drop by 1 mpg with the climate control on. My average reading for a tankful is about 34 mpg, it seems short trips take it out of the fuel consumption the most as does my occasionally heavy right foot. My car is getting close to 4000 miles on the clock now.
  16. The Yeti 1.2 engine pulls well, almost diesel like in fact and I have now seen 40mpg on my drive to work despite my driving style. It is fun to drive with the suspension firm but not uncomfortably so and it is easy to drive round town and park. I dont think you will have much problem with luggage capacity either, my other half hasn't managed to fill the boot yet anyway. There should be enough room inside for the kids and 1 other, I have had 1 child in a booster seat (a britax with arms and folding cup holders on it) my 13 year old and his gran in the back with no problems but be aware there is a transmission tunnel down the middle of the rear cabin but there's still more room than a jazz. I think the Yeti is definately worth considering, your best bet is to see one in the flesh as it doesn't seem as big as it looks in the pictures.
  17. Sorry couldn't resist this but is that september/october 2011 or 2010 because they way things sound it seems more likely the former. Still be worth the wait though and can't wait to see the orange on a Yeti
  18. Totally agree Shrub, I'm going to put 4 season tyres on mine as the originals wear down, should do everything I need but ask me again after it snows. Mark
  19. I totally agree about the drivers foot comment, the DSG seems to hesitate / bog down when you have been bimbling about at lowish revs and want to speed up a bit, and you are a bit heavy on the accelerator, it's fine if you accelerate gradually. Mark
  20. The Plumber, thanks for that information, they look just the job, heard a lot about Nokian tyres all good Mark
  21. I agree about the DSG getting caught out at times but what the hell I still love it.
  22. Autocar did mention the 32 mpg their 1.2 DSG was getting but also mentioned how it felt much bigger engined than it was on the motorway.
  23. I must admit when I went to Cadburyworld last week I had 37 mpg on the journey trip there 36 on the way back both cruising at the legal limit with cruise control as much as possible but I did have the aircon on on the return journey. My journey to work which is a good mix of roads gives between 37 and an all time best of 38 mpg but my average for a tankfull always seems to be 34 ish. Strange eh.
  24. mhjonesuk

    yeti mpg

But the TSi is such fun to drive.
  25. 30 MPG but there again mine seems to live around 34 no matter what but I bet you won't do it on 1 tank full. Mark
