  1. I have done over 6K on my Scout in 6 months no chips at all, best car I have ever had for not getting chipped, it is metalic paint maybe that is the difference? Your's seems more than normal. Iwould ask your dealer just in case it is a bad paint job.
  2. Socks are only used to get you home in bad snow conditions, and are OK if that is all you need .They also have a speed limit.
  3. Skoda do Stainless pipes, I got mine on line and had to modify fixing a little, because Scout tailpipes are so small, can't remember the company ,will try to look it out.Dont get Halfords they tend to rust and rot ,as most chrome ones do.
  4. On the point of tailpipe I fitted stainless ones with nice round edges, and look better too, also got Skoda rubber mats in place of standard, easy to clean and keep water off floor in snowy weather. Enjoy( I Do)
  5. Very initeresting, I have always suspected so, are you doing the same tests with the 1.8TSI ? .I have the Scout 1.8 TSI, and have been checking my MPG over a 6 month period, works out about 37.8 MPG.I had a Nissan XTRAIL 2.1 DCI and it was much the same MPG ,so I am very happy with the SCOUT which is much quieter, and more of a joy to drive.
  6. I have a 1.8tsi Scout May 2010.I have just completed a holiday of 1900 miles with average 36.3MPG overall, and I am not a slow driver. Very pleased with the cars performance, comfort ,and space, can't fault it. (4 wheel drive a bonus for Scottish winters)
  7. My wife had the same problem with our 2010 Octy Scout .I bought a padded seat from Halfords Cat Code 827428 £19.99, it fits and matches well the comfort is great .A much cheaper solution, and leaves the car as standard on resale.Just one point, you have to lower the seat because it does add hieght to the seat.
  8. I had them on my Xtrail and only used them for Music and Cruise control. On my 2010 Scout the cruise is on the stalk, and the Bolero is a touch screen, so I dont think they are required on the Scout, also the maxidot is of no real value to me, as the basic display gives me more than I reqiure.
  9. It not fitted as standard on petrol models. Skoda say it is not required, but you can buy it from your Skoda dealer , I think the kit costs about £18.
  10. I have a 2010 Octy2 Scout with Dunlop Sport tyres, and I put carpet underlay below the Spare wheel and a layer of carpet across the whole boot floor under the car boot material. This seems to have a reduced the road noise quite a lot. I think the spare wheel recess acts as a sound amplifier. Worth a try, does not cost anything if you have some old carpet in yor loft.
  11. I can understand the clock on the display not being on all the time ,but I agree I don't know why the Bolero does not have a clock, since the Swing( Which is the cheaper device)has clock and temp displayed. Probably some sort of cost cutting by Skoda!!!
  12. Hi, I have a 2010 1.8TSI Octy2 Scout, and if I open the door the clock comes on right away, and goes off after about 30 secs but it is enough to see the time, as long as you have the time set on the display. It means you have to open the door a little to see the time. hope this is of some help.
  13. My 2010 Octavia2 Scout, 1 Chirp for close. No Chirps if any door is left open ,close the open door and car locks with 1 Chirp.
