  1. Just adding my stats to the thread. Coming up on 16500 miles and I've topped up just shy of 8 litres of oil. Based on the 0.5l per 1000km it sounds like I'm well within their suggested limits. @Martyn, quick reply worked ok for me.
  2. Thanks for the info and pics. Did you order a different part number for the back? Will see what price my dealer can do them for. Found them here for £10.50 + postage. http://www.skodaparts.com/product/citigo-bonnet-badge-2012-2015-50241
  3. Thought I'd google for the part number for the Hatch. On http://www.skodaparts.com/products I found both listed, currently on offer at £171 + £10 postage. FABIA Eibach LOWERING SPRINGS VRS HATCH 2010-2013 ZGB5J0071677 FABIA Eibach LOWERING SPRINGS VRS ESTATE 2010-2013 ZGB5J0071677A
  4. Bought some lovely ones from Ebay seller zarazara333 and was going to recommend but they don't currently appear to be selling any more. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/zarazara333/
  5. Perhaps the latest copy of the highway code should accompany every new car sold. Would like to see the police enforce it more but I guess too many people would moan they should be catching "real" criminals. Saying that, it's not just highway code, it is actually an offence. Your choice, if you admit they're on then you're just breaking that law and need to pay the fine, if you pretend you didn't know they were on then they can actually have you appear at court for driving without due care and attention. Fog lights are there to help you see better in the fog, they're just there to help make your car more visible, so as others have said if you can see the car ahead / behind you then they car see you and you can turn your fog lights off. Have to chuckle at the idiots that sit if foggy traffic bumper to bumper and leave their fog lights on. Numpties.
  6. Love that grill logo. (bookmarking this topic for future reference)
  7. I managed a 46.5 mpg on a 515 mile round trip, Folkestone to Landgraaf in the Netherlands and back up to Welwyn.
  8. Mine seems to like D5 at 35-40 and I've used the paddles to put it up to 6/7. It'll soon drop back to D5 though.
  9. I only found what you describe in the manual, which seemed to only apply to the optional curve projector headlights. Went an investigated the grey screws you mentioned, a phillips screwdriver or allen key would work. There's two, the lower one seems to adjust the vertical tilt, the higher one the horizontal tilt.
  10. I ordered the £27.49 ones I mentioned in this thread... http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/202000-vrs-mats-advice/page__p__2443000__fromsearch__1#entry2443000 I'd initially toyed with the idea of having green stitching, to match the vRS logo, they kindly sent me four pictures of the green threads they have for me to choose. In the end I stuck with black, figured it would only get dirty under foot. I'll try and post some pics asap so you can get an idea of the quality.
  11. The standard speakers are "components" so there's a chance you'd make it sound worse if you only swapped the door speakers. If you replaced the standard door speakers with good quality full range speakers and disconnected the A-pillar tweeters it might sound better but you will lose the staging benefit of having the tweeters up closer to your ears. Some enthusiasts would argue though that it's better to keep the tweeters closer to the mid/bass speakers. Good component speaker kits come with a way to mount the tweeters angled towards your ears, something you don't really get with the standard A-pillar mounted tweeters. Been a while since I was really into the ICE scene so I might be preaching old school advice.
  12. Mine's the same as the pic Harry posted.
  13. Looks great with the black grill, headlights and the chrome alloys. I reckon the black alloys would have been just too much. Congrats.
  14. I don't like the way that when motorway crusing at around 50/60 when you hit a mild incline it will sometimes change down from D7 to D6 (or D6 to D5). I haven't given it any more throttle so why doesn't it just sit in the more economical gear? Grrr.
  15. Did anyone confirm the Swing doesn't have line level pre out?
  16. My friend really recommends this ebay seller. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NUMBER-PLATES-DESPATCHED-SAME-DAY-GB-Non-GB-/170592858306?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27b82070c2
  17. Not really sure what headlights I have with the vRS / black pack, aside from that I didn't opt for the cornering function, which according to the manual means I don't have a "tourist" mode. The AA website (via google) mentions that some HID, halogen or xenon headlights have an internal shutter that cab be moved into place. Anyone know if that's the case for the Fabia vRS please or if I'll need to get one of the stick on beam converter kits?
  18. As far as I'm aware any Fabia vRS built after week 22 will have the black pack. Personally, having seen a few blues I'd say stick with chromed (or silver) unless you're going to get it lowered, for me the black alloys don't work so well on the blue. Everybody's different though. If anyone has a blue with black alloy pic I'd be happy to do a rough PhotoShop for you adding the black pack.
  19. I decided against the standard sat nav head unit as when I ordered it didn't do full postcodes etc. but the SD card slot was something I was looking forward to, especially as I'd previously invested in a couple of SD cards, so I opted for a bargain Transcend TS-RDP5K which I'll plug in to the MDI USB cable. It's just a shame I didn't get the Green/Black vRS to match.
  20. Any idea on the size of the tweeter in the A pillar? Is there a passive crossover tucked away somewhere or do the headunits have component outputs?
  21. I negotiated Lifeshine as part of my order. Was quite sceptical but so far very impressed. I'm sure a similar result could be achieved with time and effort on my part but as I would rather spend my time doing other stuff, for me it's worth it. The rain beads and streams off the car and any dirt comes off really easily.
  22. Ah, thanks. My Clio used to do that. Amazed at all these things being configurable options.
