  1. I'd go for the fabia vrs ones - plenty of good write ups on mkvi forums about them, also cheapish and probably durable - seems to be the same part fitted to cupra anyway good enough for them - good enough for me!
  2. think the issues is the standard vag wiring arrangement means that if you plug in an aftermarket stereo it can send 12V onto the k-line used for diagnostics - not good!
  3. i just used the pocket clip off a mechanical pencil - worked perfect first time!
  4. just done this using the metal clip off the outside of an old mechanical pencil - worked first time and much cheaper than halfrauds!
  5. any chance of a diy guide on this for those who haven't undertaken a cambelt change on these models before?
  6. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Long-Life-5w-30-F-S-Engine-Oil-VW-504-00-507-00-20-ltr-/300527392829?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45f8d4183d this a good price for vw504/507 oil, which is all you need for the new vRS
  7. this is a better price for oil if you are on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Long-Life-5w-30-F-S-Engine-Oil-VW-504-00-507-00-20-ltr-/300527392829?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45f8d4183d
  8. just keep your eyes peeled mate - they come up quite regularly on ebay - remember just about any vag brake kit will fit
  9. Hi trevor, started as a graduate with a big rail company - got round all the different divisions. Quite a bit of paperwork involved, however SAFETY is the big one in this industry - lots of regulations and procedures which must be followed - this is valued way, way above productivity
  10. just to say the "lupo/fabia/ibiza" part was fitted today and is identical to the golf part - fits perfectly! so if anyone requires the fix for this they can use either of the following brake balance weight kit part numbers 6X0 698 998 or 1J0 698 998 could someone please add this to the part numbers sticky?

  12. I think they look good, but so do the spyders so if they are in need of a refurb why bother - £360 for LCR alloys when refurbished as opposed to £160 for the spyders could always try and sell the spyders
  13. contact Sere Motors in N Ireland for the best price on all the stuff you need for a cambelt kit
  14. much better, your previous posts made me feel really, really sad that someone could subject such a good car to such awful alloys don't put them back on
  15. £23.54 delivered to your door http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370485366172 nfw i'd buy at £10/litre
  16. G60 flywheel, GSF VR6 LUK clutch kit just add bolts - approx £200 for parts
  17. would be daft to scrap car because of these. i'd give it a decent run to see if that clears teh cobwebs, and then reset the ecu codes. then prioritise (but that cambelt does need doing)
  18. its a tuned mass damper - needs to be correct weight, stiffness and damping coefficient © to combat the resonant frequency. not much too them, but need to be designed for the specific application.
  19. will let you know - at £6 worth the gamble - can't imagine they would be any different across the range
  20. just got a set for £6 brand new :p http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190477808770
  21. just got a set of these for £6 brand new :p
  22. get them from creation motorsport on ebay, will be cheaper
  23. oilcan sounds liek oil pressure warning light - i'd play safe and get it checked by a mechanic - the 1.8T is notorious for blocking the oil strainer and if you drive it like that the engine prob will be written off. get them to check engine oil level is ok - if light is still on get it recovered (DO NOT DRIVE) to a garage and get them to drop the sump and inspect the oil pickup strainer.
