  1. Come on Skoda UK and give us back Meteor Grey. Do this and I'll buy another VRS estate. No way am I paying £500+ for paint and don't want (free) silver.
  2. Beige interior - NO! Only because when you come to sell the next owner may have kids/pets and this will put them off. May significantly affect future value. Plus you are likely to mark interior accidentally through day to day use. I would think again but just my thoughts.
  3. Moon white looks great in bright and crisp sunlight. Moon white in dreich Scotland looks dirty.
  4. If there are no 1lt estates in stock then that says it all! Low demand? Go for the 1.5 as that is meant to be which will have more than enough power - and more desirable in the future.
  5. Agree with your points Alecs but the Octavia is a family car with significant passenger and luggage space. If loaded up this engine is going to struggle and be frustrating to drive. However, an engine like this is ideal in an Up! or Polo.
  6. Driveable -yes Enjoyable - no Just my opinion.
  7. Me thinks Skoda UK may have got the pricing of the panoramic sunroof and variable boot floor the wrong way round.
  8. £180 for panoramic sunroof.
  9. At least the panoramic sunroof is more affordable now. Variable boot floor is *very* expensive.
  10. Expensive and only 5% discount from the dealer. I will wait a wee bit longer.
  11. Always had manual cars but could be persuaded to get a DSG. My driveway is on a significant slope. Sometimes the handbrake does not hold as well as it could so I leave the car in gear. Daft laddie question - can I/how do I park up a DSG car, engage the handbrake and leave in gear? Cheers.
  12. Think this will be £2,000 finance contribution plus nearly 10% discount - both which should be achievable at your local friendly dealer. Its what I would aim for.
  13. Don't laugh - but which red is that? Love the darker shade of red but concerned might not look as good during driech Scottish winter and limited sunshine. Thanks for the photo - I appreciate it.
  14. I think this spec and price looks great - very tempted. I presume the First Editions, including this VRS, are supplemented with extras at 'no cost' to drum up business and that future versions will not have these extras? I'll wait for a manual which should drop the price by another £1,500. Together with a decent PCP interest rate, deposit contribution and 10% discount I could change for this. No rear wiper as standard on an estate? - Hope not.
  15. stubev156 has to be careful with this one as the Skoda new car deals have got worse from April compared to the first three months of this year e.g. Skoda finance is now more expensive at 5.9% rather than 5.5% and the first two services that were free are now a chargeable extra at £159. Now if there is a bigger discount to compensate then fair enough. Pricing doesn't look as attractive as it was in January which also included an extra £500 test drive allowance. I appreciate you won't have a time travelling machine to get the Jan deals. My advice - don't leave it to the last minute and be aware of what has been on offer in previous quarters so you will know whether you are getting a good deal or not. Good luck.
  16. Thanks guys - car going in tomorrow now. Will keep you posted. IMG_2112.MOV
  17. IMG_2111.MOV Hello all Delighted with my 245 but after only 300 miles think the car may have a fault - have booked in at dealers for Saturday coming up. Symptons: engine is revving by itself when both stationery and moving. When parked up the revs can shoot up to 25 on the dial and hold it there or it ‘pulsates’ quickly between 10 and 15 repeatedly. Sounds like I am revving the engine when not. This is all without the accelerator being pressed. Also when driving and working down the gears and slowing down with the foot off the accelerator the car continues to gather speed for a couple of seconds before if realises it shouldn’t be doing this. Any thoughts? Will feedback what the garage find in due course. TIA
  18. Congratulations on the baby and I understand your decision to move from a Polo to an Octavia. Not trying to be cheeky here but am assuming that you are lucky enough to be in your 20s? - have you run through some insurance quotes to see what you are dealing with cost wise (vRS is a high grouping)? All part of running a car. All the best.
  19. I have a new standard 245 - they are NOT electrically folding.
