Traffic Sign Recognition on Skoda Connect App Store ?
Just found this on the main Skoda web site. TSR available as function on demand from production 06 2022. I think that means nothing for those with anything already manufactured. Going forward I think this a nail in the coffin with regards to any future mods and upgrades and I don't just mean activating equipment already installed. For example. If you might be looking to get Ambient lighting retrofitted in the future, there is no way of activating it as its locked down with swap codes which you will never be able to access. Unless someone manages to hack the system in the future. https://availability.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com#/

Assisted lane change making its way into Octavia Mk IV
From what I’ve experienced trying to get pACC and TSR activated, I wouldn’t hold my breath hoping that Assisted Lane Change will be activated even if you have all the correct equipment already on your car. Skoda don’t appear to give a monkeys with regards to their existing customers.

Traffic Sign Recognition on Skoda Connect App Store ?
Did you get it from the App Store as a trial / bought or was it preinstalled and it's no longer working. Here in the UK it's difficult to even find out if it's available for the Octavia though it does appear on the Function on demand service list

Please replace key battery...
I had the same problem. After changing the batteries in the key fobs I started to store my keys in a Faraday pouch. The lights on the fob stopped flashing when in range of the car. hoping this going to prolong the battery life

At long last... SW Version 1896
The Codes were originally listed in the hidden maintenance menu (Acessed by a long press on Menu on the MMI screen in the Code Function (FEC,Swap) menu). There are two sections, Installed and Available codes. There were none in the installed section but approx 10 codes in the available section. Since the update these codes are missing. I don't appear to have lost any functions but I was wondering what they were for as I've been trying to get TSR working. All you hear is SWAP and FEC codes required. Ive been in touch with Skoda UK via chat got the following. Note Ive edited some of this to avoid confusion and deleted name of Skoda rep. Chris Mitchell 10:48 AM I recently purchased a 21 reg Octavia SEL estate model and was wondering if it is possible to Have Traffic Sign Recognition activated in the main dashboard. If it is possible can you please give me an indication of the price Concierge 10:48 AM Welcome. A customer service agent will be with you shortly. Concierge 10:48 AM You are now chatting with ------ 10:49 AM Hi Chris, you're through to ------ at ŠKODA UK. I will be assisting you today. 10:49 AM Chris, these features are installed at the Factory and can not be retro fitted. 10:50 AM I'm sorry to disappoint you. Chris Mitchell 10:50 AM Hi. I have read that it is possible to have traffic sign recognition activated by the use of a SWAP or FEC code. ------ Skoda UK 10:51 AM It might be possible at an Independent Retailer but no with ŠKODA. Chris Mitchell 10:52 AM I bought my car from local Skoda dealer. ------ Skoda UK 10:52 AM They are a Approved ŠKODA Retailer. Independent would be a normal garage type. Chris Mitchell 10:55 AM As you are aware the octavia is based on the MBQ EVO platform. these features were previously activated using VCDS and ODIS but due to the platform being locked down with SFD this in longer possible. I have been in touch with a couple of dealers and they say that the FEC and SWAP codes have to come from Skoda to activate certain features. (Little lie there. I got this info from Briskoda and OBDEleven forums) ------ Skoda UK 10:57 AM We are not technical based he and go by the information that is released from the Factory. If you would like to have this assessed, then I would recommend you visit your local ŠKODA Retailer and speak to the Parts Team or to the Retailer you have already spoken to. End of Chat Ive already been in touch with local Skoda dealer and I basically got the same response. It has to be installed at the factory. Has anyone any Idea if they have managed to get a SWAP or FEC code to retrofit any features on the platform. If you can get Travel Assist which includes TSR factory fitted for £275. you would think you could get it activated for a price. What is wrong with them. Don't mention the steering wheel I've already changed it.

At long last... SW Version 1896
I recently had my software updated from 1803 to 1896. In the hidden maintenance menu I had a list of approx 10 available swap codes which have now disappeared since the update. I wish I’d previously made a note of them. Has anyone else noticed this since having their software updated. Could I request to have them retrieved from Skoda.

Been offered £22k for Mk3, would I be mad to go for a Mk4?
If new owners are having less trouble that’s all well and good. For those that bought 20 & 21 reg cars that can’t get them sorted with well documented issues it doesn’t say much for Skoda re customer service. Get your cash then **** you off.

If you’re having trouble free driving with your current car then don’t think of upgrading to a mk4. There are too many issues with them. it’s a shame how quick Skoda quality has gone down the drain.

Skoda Connect App Store Choices
I recently bought a 21 reg Octavia Mk4 SEL model. On checking the Skoda Connect App Store the only mod I could find to activate was High Beam Assist for £179. Can anyone give what their options are for the different models
- Skoda Connect login error.

Simplest way to enable Traffic Sign Recognition with VCDS?
I have recently been in touch with my local Skoda dealer enquiring if I could pay to have TSR activated and they informed me that it can only be added as an option at build stage. No mention of FEC or Swap codes unless they aren't aware or can't be bothered. Disappointing when you look at the Octavia configurator where Travel Assist, which includes TSR costs £275 It seems that Skoda UK are missing a trick here and could be making extra cash.

Traffic sign recognition
When it comes to TSR everyone mentions SAWP codes. Has anyone managed to get / purchase a swap code for this from Skoda UK

No dedicated HVAC controls
What I can’t believe is that you can control the air con with voice control when it’s on but you can’t use voice control to turn it on when it’s switched off. once again you can’t do anything without touching that bloody screen. You would at least think that if you press the Air Con button when it’s switched off the system would at least work it out that you probably would want to switch it on.

Travel assist retrofit
Hi. Could you give me an indication what options you have in the Travel Assist menu in the infotainment screen. All I have is steering feedback

Travel assist retrofit
Very lightly. Basically if I just rest my hand inside the wheel next to the bottom Placket/Badge don't get any warning.

Travel assist retrofit
Update from my last post. It appears I forgot to add the following changes A5 -> Hc_Variante: 2 A5 -> Klr: Enabled. This one will enable capacitivesensors. Travel assist now appears to be working fine and not getting any warnings regarding hands on the steering wheel. Only thing I’d like to get working is the Travel Assist options on the main Assist screen. On reflection changing the steering wheel was worth the effort.

Travel assist retrofit
Hi all. Got my capacitive steering wheel. After disconnecting the air bag module I’ve noticed there is an additional yellow and brown wired connector on the capacitive wheel which I don’t have on the one already fitted. Although I’m not sure I assume it’s for the heated wheel ? anyway after changing the wheel over and refitting everything I got a load of errors after reconnecting the battery which is supposed to be normal, along with errors on the lane assist and travel assist. After updating module 13 to add the capacitive steering wheel ( I’d already updated the other modules) I still had a problem with with lane assist which would not activate using the steering wheel button. I also got a load of additional options for travel assist in the assist system screen of the infotainment system. Previously there was only steering feedback. after taking the car for a short drive all the faults on the dashboard cleared along with the lane assist fault which I could now select. Note all the previous options I had in travel assist had now gone just showing the original steering feedback. I cant honestly say it was worth all the effort. Without changing the steering wheel I already had managed to get travel assist working all be it with an annoying message on the dash to take control, only cleared by slightly turning the steering wheel. I was assuming this was due to not having a capacitive module in the wheel. With the new wheel I was expecting to be able to just have my hand on the wheel without having to make any physical input to the steering. Can anyone who has done this mod please let me know if you have multiple options in the travel assist section of the assist screen. cheers
