  1. As the others mention, it depends on the road, however I think the other driver should be in question too, as they are probably going too quickly for what they can actually see. Why didn't they slow down for the corner, if they cannot see what is on the other side of the corner.
  2. I had my battery die on my old car. This was after 30miles of driving, and went to fill up with fuel. I had to push it off the forecourt. Electric windows didn't work, and also the dash was blank, with no clock or anything.
  3. I've noticed this on a lot of the new cars around, I think this is pretty standard across the market :(
  4. I have the same thing with my Fabia. Not really a concern, just annoying sometimes. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  5. I'd say it is the wheels/tyres too. It might be worth looking at getting the wheel balanced. A friend of mine had this too, usually happened between 65 and 75mph Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  6. I'm presuming you mean the head light unit. Have a look at this link: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/121210-how-to-remove-replace-headlights/?p=1522005
  7. Thanks for the advice. I will check out the other threads and gather some ideas.
  8. HI All, I am looking to get a set of all 4 done before the winter. The current tyre size is 195, 50, 15. What would be a good all rounder, lasting a long time, good performer in rain. The current tyres are unknown brands to me, Speedlife (Rears) and dexetro (Fronts)? I would say Pirelli, as I had them on my old fabia, but different tyre sizes, and they are still on the car (So for done 30k miles on them, 20k whilst on the front, then got changed to the back, and done another 10k miles) Most of the threads in here seem to be about the Vrs' and couldn't quickly find anything close.
  9. I asked for a quote for a service too and found the prices pretty high, though they did say they would offer a price match, but I was pretty offended by the price. I have also since contacted them on the contacted us form asking to be emailed back (had to put a phone number down, but didn't want to be called because of work), and they still called, and never got an email until I made another request through the form. Felt like the request wasn't read properly. I went to a locally recommended garage in Byfleet instead. Half the price, and done in a morning. I don't need my car cleaned and all the extra stuff!
  10. I had that on my old fabia. I just made the vents flat, then they opened normally again, until someone fiddled with it. I personally wasn't too bothered as it wasn't going to be one that would be changed around machine. You will probably be able to get a replacement fairly easily, from a scrappy or probably ebay (Though I can only find drivers side ones using the search of Skoda Fabia air vent)
  11. Looks like an ANPR to me too. They had something similar near Woking about a year ago. Noticed a lot of police around the area parked up, probably ready to nab anyone who flags up. Van was parked in the middle of the road, on white hatch markings then too.
  12. Not too sure on Timing Chain costs myself. I used to have a 1.4 mpi, and knew they were on chains.
  13. I would suspect the rattling might be the Timing Chain. How many miles has the car done? and says the car is 2001.
  14. I used to get crunching from 1st to 2nd. But I did blame myself for that. I haven't crunched it in a few months.
  15. Never been keen on the rear lights on the Fabia, but those in that picture are so much worse. Also looks like they have a rear spoiler too.
  16. I've heard reviews about hosting companies from quite a few of our customers. I've heard that Heart internet generally seem fine, i.e. less complaints than others commonly used. I would be careful of FastHosts and 1and1, however they are very cheap, and might do what you want. The main complaints from these companies tend to offer cheap and cheerful solutions, but if something goes wrong, then they often will not want to help, and often just blame the software used to create the website. I work in technical support for a software company, specialising in the eCommerce and Electronic Point of Sale till software, and our software allows customer to upload their website to a web hosting package of their choice. Main requirements being Perl to run the checkout scripts and contact us forms etc. We also provide hosting packages, however the website must contain sites using our software, and the occasional basic website on the site. So I have a bit of a background on technical support for hosting on Linux based servers using Parrallels Plesk Panel, and also cPanel.
  17. I fitted some Osram Nightbreaker Plus H7 bulbs to my car the other day, and generally seems less yellow and an improvement in visibility too. That would be a cheap and easy solution. You can get the H3 bulbs for main beam and fog lights too, but I haven't changed these. I am also yet to change the side lights too. Yes going for a HID kit might be worth it, but it depends on how much money and effort you want to place into this.
  18. My grandad has a 2007 plate VW golf which has only done 3000 miles! Scary really, the trouble is he only drives it to Sainsburys and back, and the occasional trip for hospital appointments. He has never driven it more than 20miles in a journey. He went 15miles the other week, and we all joked that the car got warm for a change! The car doesn't appeal to anyone else in the family, being a 1.6 FSI petrol automatic. Though it has sat in the garage for most of its life, and the battery gets a proper charge in there too. We have thought that probably taking taxis and buses (bus passes) everywhere is probably more economically viable. Especially as Sainsburys is within a 5 minute walk.
  19. As stated in the post posts above. Using the air con will drain some power and fuel economy. I tend to have the windows down when going around the town, but use the air con on the motorway and faster roads to not have any wind noise.
  20. I can't seem to get a quote to work on the Adrian Flux website using Google Chrome. Filled in all my details, and it has then has been waiting on the message of "Please wait, submitting your details (This may take a minute)..." for around 10mins so far, and finally closing the window. I don't really fancy filling out my details again on Internet Explorer. Has anyone else had issues with Google Chrome on Adrian Flux?
  21. Hi all, Just a quick query hopefully. I am looking for find the right size seat screw/bolt. This is one as part of the seat itself, rather than the sear runner. The symptoms of this issue is that the seat slightly rocks, or when the seat is all the way up, then it creaks slightly. But as the design of the car, the height adjuster normally gets up down a bit when going in and out of the car. When I looked at this before, the screw was just sheered. I don't own the car myself, it is my sisters, but from what I remember it was a longish silver one. This on a 2000 plate Fabia comfort. Thanks in advance.
  22. Best way I tested mine was to unlock the with the key in the door, then don't put the key in the ignition. Automatically goes off after 30 seconds.
  23. It was a bargain. £31 for the weekend, which included 15 races, and various qualifying and practice sessions. £26 just for the Sunday. Also with Brands Hatch Indy, they are around 50 second laps, so you don't have to wait long for the field to come back round. Where I was, you could see the entrance and exit of Paddock hill bend, entrance to Druids, and the entrance to Graham Hill bend. I arrived on raceday at the same time as Jason Plato's helicopter, and he seemed pretty cheerful for 8am! Commentary all around the circuit too, so you get a good understanding of what is happening elsewhere. The grand stand seats cost between £10 - £15 on raceday, hence them being empty. Link to the schedule: http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/media/1682945/btcc_bh_3031032013.pdf Anyway, down to the racing itself. Andrew Jordon looked very quick during the practice and qualifying sessions, and certain into races too. The MGs seemed to be doing the job, with Tordoff I believe being on the harder tyres in the final race (I may have misheard it)
