Knocking sound from my 110bhp Yeti
To start isolating you need to make a note of road speed, engine speed, road surface and if there is any steering input , body roll etc at the time you hear the noise. Just remembered my Touran fractured an exhaust bracket which was situated almost under the handbrake area, it was a sod to reach with just ramps and settle back into place so didn't immediately look damaged. A mate and a spot of weld sorted that. Good luck.

TPMS light won't turn off
I've never had to deal with this issue so I'm not the person to give an opinion. Your next move depends on whether it was a private or dealer purchase - if it was from a garage I would be knocking on their door tomorrow morning

TPMS light won't turn off
ABS module failures are VERY expensive to resolve, I would find someone to scan your car with VCDS asap so you can ascertain whether someone has tried to cover up an expensive fault. On our 2007 Scout the TPMS button will 'bong' after the reset has been successfully performed.

Retrofitting Amundsen RNS315 - what's needed?
Turn your lights on, the screen goes dark automatically - so although the Roomie isn't can 2.0, there is some communication

Retrofitting Amundsen RNS315 - what's needed?
We have Amundsen + in our 2007 Roomster Scout, it works fine - the screen reacts to the light switch, the satnav works correctly. Only downside is having to switch it back on every 30 mins ... and that is a small inconvenience against an £80 relay?

Retrofitting Amundsen RNS315 - what's needed?
I fitted this item and found the voice problem persisted - I also noted that the cut-out for the microphone was on the passenger side. I wonder if this is a VCDS settings issue?

Flat spot 2.0tdi 110hp
As well as the hesitation, I also have have variable idling, revs don't drop that quickly and what feels like horrendous turbo lag - I'm going to go for it ! Besides ... it's ordered

7 years of ownership
Drove our 07 1.9tdi Scout this afternoon after months of exclusively driving our 2.0tdi 110hp Yeti. Oh dear, the Scout felt like a tractor with an asthmatic engine, and the cabin felt cramped and oppressive. Wife loves it dearly, but I think it might be time to let the Scout go.

Flat spot 2.0tdi 110hp
I've had 6 or 7 VAG 1.9 and 2.0 tdi engines in the last few years and this is new to me, the throttle on all has been linear even when I've had mad remaps and this is why I think there's a breakage somewhere. Throttle body has been cleaned, and the mixer turned 180 degrees but this has not made any difference. The video is very clear, so for the sake of £15 I'm going to give it a whirl at my first opportunity - can't do any harm?

Flat spot 2.0tdi 110hp
Anyone experienced a flat spot at 1000 - 1500rpm (ish) on a very light throttle, it almost feels like the brake has been dabbed for a second before normal service is resumed. The car has not had the fix and was apparent pre-remap too. A fairly strong Archoil mix and a few weeks of driving in divers boots has had no effect. I'm thinking perhaps some of the teeth in the throttle body may be broken or worn, the parts are sub-£15 - has anyone tried this?

Road speed hum
Thank you all, I have to say I've had bearings go in the past and this feels different. I need to do some figure 8's in a big car park, and get the wheels up in the air - it never occured to me that the spring would transmit any bearing gremlins.

Road speed hum
Morning all, bit of help please; Since fixing a front end rattle with a nearside drop-link I've developed a road speed, not engine speed hum which APPEARS to be from the offside front area. I have fitted a new offside drop-link, and 2 x new front tyres with no perceptible change. Discs are brakes are incredibly rusty, and when wheels are in the air there's movement on the driveshafts but that appears to be in equal amounts both sides. No sound on full lock going in circles both ways. I'm thinking wheel bearing, but why did it come on after the change of drop-link, and on the opposite side? Or is that just a co-incidence?

Colombus Stereo grumble
I feel your pain, my Smart Pioneer f910bt does this, and it's bloody ABBA ! Have you tried uploading the contents of your SD card onto the HDD ? I had 40Gb of music on my RNS510 which I believe is the same unit.

Noise over rough surfaces
Front nearside droplink changed, noise gone. Didn't have any perceptible movement even with my sylph-like figure swinging on it - just goes to show, when you have suspension noises these cheap links should be changed first as part of the diagnostic process

Thule Easybase
Thanks for taking the trouble to provide those links. It grieves me to say it - but I think the solid base of the Thule version makes all the difference
-
Thule Easybase
I think you've hit the nail, great quality stuff compared to the nasty rubbish that's out there but at £220 ! I had a Plan B however the day I bought the rack, Amazon stopped selling their £55 Amazonbasics 325 litre (?) cargo bag which was ideal

Thule Easybase
I've obtained a Thule 949 Easybase for a reasonable price, and I'm looking for advice from anyone who has experience. The dedicated Thule 948-4 bag (110x55x53) is good quality but flipping expensive, has anyone used another bag on this rack or is the 948-4 Easybag the only game in town ?

Noise over rough surfaces
Wonderful Worcestershire billiard table roads have hidden the fault, I'm in Dorset on a campsite with home made speed humps and the knocking is driving me mad. Wife now thinks the noise is front near side. I've had a quick look, spring has 3 lines painted (?) wishbone bushes and droplink look newish, but I'll change the droplink again when I get home for an OEM or at least a good quality version. Offside seems fine, so I think the previous owner liked drains.
