Can anyone confirm if this batter will work in my vrs ?
Bogwoppit replied to Jake101's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
My mk1 Fabia, which was a 2007 model vRS (BLT engine code), took a Bosch 008 battery (a type 096), so bigger than the one in the above photo. I'm pretty certain the OEM battery was smaller though. The best advice is to measure your existing as above, also see how much extra room you have in the battery tray as you may be able to 'upgrade' to the next size up. Edit. just found a photo. My original battery was a type 027, which is what the Bosch S4 005 is in the photo. That is the size fitted to the later BLT engine code Fabia vRS from the factory. As above though the bigger type 096 also fit. -

We downsized from a Leon Estate to a Golf 245 PP manual, well impressed with the engine, pulls from so lowdown. We looked at the Octavia vRS 245, but didn't need the space. You won't be disappointed with the Octy 245 as a quickish family car -

It used to be possible to buy a retrofit kit for roughly £80, and then fit it yourself. Someone with VCDS, could then enable the cruise control for beer tokens Edit, kit is £105 on ebay, item number 370782615594 -

What about a Leon Cupra ST 300 with a manual box, very rare. There are a about 7 facelift versions for sale on Autotrader at the mo, all 67 reg. Not many about, as most of them were AWD and DSG. Similar boot size to the Octavia hatch but more kick under the bonnet. -

Good find! It's also the reduced price on the Tesco website, assuming you can get a delivery slot. Offer valid until 22/04/20

For what they cost, I would suggest buying a new sump plug. You don't necessarily have to use it, but at least you have it if needed. I replaced mine, when I did an oil change 2 months ago. I used a tool rather than a flat blade, ebay item number 121929376081.

Have you tried another dealer? I always found Rainworth near Mansfield really good. -

Love the colour of the Golf, is it Atlantic blue? We just downsized from a Leon Estate FR to a Golf 245 PP, manual gearbox, same wheels as yours but Indium grey and leather as SWMBO didn't like the tartan. Cannot believe how well the Golf rides compared to the Leon and that is on poor Lincolnshire roads. I hoping we don't miss the boot on the Leon, to early to tell at the moment. -
Do the Civic, Jazz or Prius not have tilt sensors built into the OEM alarms? Or do Japanese cars omit tilt sensors? The last 3 cars we have had owned (Seat, Ford & VW) would have triggered the alarm before one of the wheels left the floor.
