How much oil does yours use??
Organist replied to skippy41's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
My 2008 Octy (1.9 PD) has never used any oil (in the 4000 miles since new anyway) and the 2006 model I had previously didn't use any between services either. -
Stu............and breathe, and breathe........there, there. a nice hot :orb_bath: now a large beer.:) That's better, mate!

Someone's done a proper job on this one!
Organist replied to devonutopia's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Should buff out! -
I would give the Vectra a VERY wide berth. With the new Insignia coming out imminently, the depreciation will be horrendous. The Vectra is not a brilliant car anyway, and the gear change is ugh!

Pentagon are the best. Bar none!

Now you need to darken the windows..............
-
Good luck for the future!

The Climate Control apparatus for the Skoda Octavia II includes a sunlight sensor fitted into the dashboard top. The sunlight sensor is integrally formed with a filter and a Fresnel lens. When an elevation angle of sunlight is low, an inadequate correction of the sunlight amount is prevented by the Fresnel lens. However, when sunlight enters the vehicle more directly, detected sunlight amounts are fed to the CC system and the cooling effect/fan speed and direction are adjusted. The sunlight sensor coupled with the temperature sensor in the headlining, and the sensor behind the fan speed control work together to make the occupants of the vehicle feel as comfortable as possible.

Will Skoda ever do a sport VW style blue dash?
Organist replied to gadgetman's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Looks like a bag of bl00dy liquorice allsorts to me - ridiculous! -
Sounds like you had great fun, and it's good to see how much confidence you have in the Scout, especially as you have had experience with a larger machine!

He could tell you, but then he might have to kill you! :fence3d:

Enjoy your car!
-
to quote a previous post "must have been knackered!" :P
-
No, I don't think that it was knackered - it had about 1500 miles on it but seriously, I was comparing it to an old Honda Accord I had which did about 40ish to the gallon, but was a whole lot nippier than the Golf.

woo-hoo! New L&K finally here!

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!! -
I really wouldn't worry too much, mate; just enjoy your new car!

I also had a 1.6 Golf (Hertz) for a week in Scotland on business fairly recently, and I found it as flat as a pancake. Absolutely no go (even if you really revved it) and fuel consumption in the high thirties. Rather pathetic.
-
I suppose it just depends upon how paranoid you are. Personally, I have no objection to previous owners of any of the cars I have px'ed or sold getting in contact, as some have in the past........I have nothing to hide!

How to tell if your car has DPF?
Organist replied to Damo's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)

Tell me what you think

:+1::iagree: If he didn't like the answer, he shouldn't have asked the question! .......and for the record I don't like his spoiler either. :pants: -
I've had two 1.9's, both from new. I have been more than satisfied with both of them.

Rust on part in engine compartment
Organist replied to jasonruk's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
My 06 Octy did this, and it didn't raise a hair with the garage when mentioned to them. It had also begun to pit with the salt thrown up into the engine bay over the last 2 winters. I notice that my new 08 Octy has a different (shiner) finish to this part; maybe it has been plated.......? -

I'll stick to poisoning the world, if it's all the same to you!
