  1. You will need the key to remove it. The key can’t be released from the tow bar unless it’s locked. When you remove the tow bar the key will be retained in the tow bar. I used to keep the key in the little cubby hole by the steering wheel when the bar was fitted.
  2. After 26 months and 27000 miles my Octavia Scout has gone. I no longer need a diesel so made the decision to get rid. It will be replaced by something smaller and petrol, oh and it will not be DSG.. Thanks to all for your advice..
  3. Timely thread this, my 184 DSG Scout had a service at Skoda yesterday, the report recommended the front discs and pads were not far off being shot. They offered to do them for £444 (just the fronts remember…). He genuinely looked shocked when I declined and said I’d do them myself…
  4. Dislikes, in no particular order, seats are awful. stereo sound quality awful. DSG is awful. Likes, cheap to run and service space Back to Volvo for me next.
  5. So long as you’re happy with the deal that’s all that matters. I try not to over-think these things, especially afterwards..
  6. And I’ve done what any seller would do, take the higher offer.
  7. You’d think so… I was contacted by the dealer who sold me my Scout offering to buy it back. They offered £1000 less than WBAC. They can’t have wanted it that badly!
  8. I’m pretty certain the removal of the tow bar will involve costs, dealers rarely work for free.. I’d also be confident that a bar used on an Octavia will not fit on a Superb.
  9. Mine has decided to come apart this morning. Can’t really see how it can be bonded back together. Once it cools down a bit I’ll give it a go, far too hot in there at the moment..
  10. You’ve done well to get it looked at so soon, garages near me in Wiltshire have around a two week wait for bookings at the moment. Hope everything goes well..
  11. I once had an engine light appear on a car on the way home from the garage after collection, it was a Polo GT 130 PD. It was fixed the following week by a local garage and the supplying garage paid the bill. It then performed faultlessly for the next 70,000 miles that I put on it. let the garage sort it and enjoy.
  12. I’ve got Milenco Aeros to use on my 2016 Scout. They stay on fine so long as you’re careful to fit the clamps correctly. They do vibrate slightly but I’ve never found it to be a problem.
  13. The BST box was ticked (the time was correct yesterday...). Anyway, deselected BST, back to radio mode, time still incorrect. Back to settinsg and ticked BST, time now correct.. Will see what tomorrow brings. Thanks all.
  14. Just driven in to work and noticed that the car was displaying the time 1 hour early. It’s set to GPS time and I manually changed it to the correct time. Got to work and reset it to GPS time, it again lost an hour.. Any ideas?
  15. @varaderoguyWhy do you consider the 2016 Scout suspension to be rubbish?
  16. I came from a Volvo and the Skoda audio is very poor in comparison. Oh, the Volvo seats were much better than my Octavia’s seats also.
  17. Porsche Weissgold is nice. As above, dark wheels lose all definition so I wouldn’t go too dark.
  18. I recently put a set of Michelin Cross Climates on my wife’s Yaris, they have improved both the ride and cabin noise immensely over the Bridgestone tyres it previously had. Don’t underestimate the difference a quality set of tyres can make, I’ll be putting Michelins on my Scout once the present set of Continentals have worn out...
  19. Just put your registration number in the powerbulbs website and it’ll tell you what you need.
  20. Just fished mine out, took about 2 minutes of manoeuvring before it was in a position to lift out. It’s a 65 plate Scout 184, coolant looks nice and clear, equal heat from all vents.
  21. I think the main indications are discoloured coolant and lack of warm air from the heater due to blockage of the heater matrix.
  22. I’ve only used this mode once but found it smooth while descending an unmade farm track. I’m surprised you thought it was jerky.
  23. I’d have thought the floor would be in the lowered position to maximise boot volume for official figures. The only way to confirm is to measure yourself I guess...
  24. Thanks, have you any experience of these guys?
  25. This evening I ran over some debris on the A303 and have holed one of my wheels, any idea how much a Nivalis will cost me for a 2015 Scout?
