New and looking to buy - advise plz
If you buy a used car from Skoda you get additional 2 years warranty, 2 services, 2 years MOT cover and 2 years breakdown assistance. Good peace of mind and I didn't really pay any more for mine versus a car supermarket etc.

Fitted a reversing cam to 2018 vrs.
Thanks for that - did you require any other cables or connectors or does this have everything you need? Also wondering if you need to chop the connector block or whether they've created a new one that goes between the old block and the connectors on the head unit. If so, does it also power it?

Skoda Octavia 3 Owners register
I've had mine since start of September - 2017 facelift VRS TDI 5 door in Meteor Grey with black pack plus and pan roof. The colour, black pack plus & pan roof were all a must have for me. Unfortunately this restricted the choice to just 1 in the country at a Skoda dealership which luckily turned out to be a good one. Originally set out to get a wagon but saw this and loved it. 3 years old and unmarked. Skoda are currently doing 2 years warranty, 2 free services, 2 years MOT cover & 2 years breakdown cover so a no brainer.

Android Auto and Huawei P30 Pro
It will probably be a combination of HU firmware, phone firmware & cable, it won't be anything to do with Huawei ban which only affects the latest phones which won't have Android (so no android auto). My Google Nexus phone worked in the new shape MY 2017 VW Tiguan 100% of the time, my P20 pro was intermittent (60/40) with same vehicle, same leads. P20 Pro worked about the same amount of time in my old MY 2019 Karoq Sportline with same lead. Same phone (P20 pro) and lead works 100% of time in my MY 2017 Octavia VRS! Go figure...

Ski Hatch Stuck
That's Skoda for you. I had a brand new Karoq Sportline last year. Ski hatch broke this year (having NEVER used before), was told that a part was 'missing' which they can't claim for on warranty so had to pay to have it fixed. I was billed £5 for the part and no labour - I kid you not! This was at the supplying dealer. VW or BMW would have done this for free - that's the difference.

Reversing Camera Retrofit
TBH I was going to fit one with a washer but I don't think I'll bother. My last car had one fitted from factory and it is triggered by the rear washer, so you have to use that to wash the cam. The reality is once you have it you forget about this and just use the rear wash wipe sporadically to keep your rear window clean which then doesn't do a great job at keeping the camera clean.

Reversing Camera Retrofit
If you have one in, can you send me the price for a 2017 MY Octavia 110mm original handle ideally with washer jet. Thanks

ocatavia vrs diesel re-map 0-60 times verses stock etc
Main advantage of a remap is mid-range punch and improved power delivery. You'll notice this every time you drive it and it will probably improve your mpg over time. These are the things I've noticed in the past in both petrol and diesel cars

Reversing Camera Retrofit
Hi Sasha By all means give me a price for the parts only as I don't mind having a go at fitting something like this. Handle size is 110mm and it's going to a 2017 MY Columbus head unit. Can you do the parameter file as well?

Reversing Camera Retrofit
Resurecting this old thread - just picked up a facelift VRS and would like to do this. Are the cameras linked from AliExpress still the best ones to go for or is there a better alternative now? I'm after one with dynamic lines and a washer. I'll be hardwiring it in.

Dealer servicing costs
I personally don't get why everyone is speculating on the price. You call your usual dealer, if not happy call your next closest. In my experience they will price match and they want your business to avoid the car going out of the network (this is a big problem for all manufacturers). A basic price is on the website to give you an idea. Also the suggestion that they might be servicing cars with inferior oil is nonsense. They would not risk their franchise over something like this.

Karoq Sportline 1.5 TSI DSG
Agree. The new Tiguan has one as standard (I had one of those 2 years ago), disappointing that you have to spec them for the Karoq and most other things although WLTP didn't help with this. I'm just about to part-ex the Karoq for a VRS and also had to get them to put the spare wheel kit in 🙄

Karoq Sportline 1.5 TSI DSG
It is worth noting that the tyres are an odd size and not available off shelf from many places. My top tip is to order the spare wheel. I went to the Isle of Wight for a family holiday last year, car was a few weeks old & I had been there 1 hour when I got a puncture that was unrepairable. Called several tyre places and no one had one in stock. As it was late Saturday afternoon on a bank holiday weekend the earliest I could get one was Tuesday! Fortunately I had the spare otherwise holiday would have been ruined.

Karoq sportline seat wear/strange marks
I'm putting this topic to bed as I'm just about to hand my Sportline back early for other reasons, however the fabric on these seats is terrible- whenever you press down hard on the seat it leaves a white mark & the fabric looks stained from simply sitting in them. Really disappointed by that, fortunately vwfs haven't picked up on it!

Spare Wheel or Repair Kit
This maybe a little late, but I've just bought an octavia VRS from a dealership and one of the conditions of the sale was that they fit the spare wheel kit as it had the tyre gunk. Might be worth a try

VRS front parking sensor retrofit in honeycomb grills - possible?
Hi all, I'm returning to the VRS fold after a few years away. Found a great looking meteor grey hatch at the weekend & just couldn't say no! (I was after an estate but that's a different story). This must have been asked before, but is it possible to retrofit a set of aftermarket front parking sensors and locate them in the honeycomb grills? This would save cutting and painting the bumpers and might just be an all round simpler option whilst still looking discreet. Any thoughts, anything I need to know?

Karoq sportline seat wear/strange marks
Hey all - has anyone else with a Karoq Sportline had issues with strange marks appearing on the seats? I've had my car for 5 months, covering 4500 miles and I have some real strange wear marks on the seats. In places the seats have aan almost whitish loo up close, as if all of the surface material has been worn away, I also have lots of marks that look like liquid marks (despite not spilling anything). I'm taking it in to the dealers but just wanted to see how other sportlines are holding up. I believe the seat material is specific to these cars as they have the thermoflex material
