  1. Appreciate what you say about the 6 month issue, but parts like this should be robust enough to last the lifetime of the car. If they do try to suggest it is part of the 6 month warranty I would refer them to "goods being of suitable quality & fit for purpose". I feel sure you will get it sorted no problem. My motor is 18 months old & after repeated use of the MFSW buttons there is no issue with them. You also have "iriches" similar problem to show it's not isolated to your car.
  2. Not happened on mine, but if it has broken then don't attempt a repair yourself. I would say is a warranty issue & if you have a tinker yourself you will invalidate the warranty.
  3. I have the odd dribble - my car squirts fine. Must be an age thing!!!!
  4. [quote name="TheWanderer" Mind you, I'm thinking of selling the Roadhawk & getting either a DOD LS460W or maybe the new E-PRANCE 0805 or 0806. The Roadhawk is pretty useless in the dark, even though reviews said to the contrary. I too was thinking of an E-PRANCE 0803 or 0805 after seeing "TECHMOAN's" review, but looking at reviews elsewhere there seems to be a lot of rejections due to bad manufacture or faulty batches.
  5. My mirrors only fold out when you turn ignition on & fold in when you lock the car with the fob. Can't remember if you can change that in settings or maybe newer models have a change in operation.
  6. Today it has been cloudy but not what you would call dark & my lights are on auto stayed on for the whole of my journey. Prefer to leave them on auto as it's fine for entering\leaving garage plus I think its safer.
  7. My car is a magnet for white van man. I too try to park as far as possible away from others, but invariably find a white van or a "Chelsea Tractor" so close it makes me wonder how they expect me to get back in my car. Thinking of printing out some notes saying - Next time can you park a bit bl**dy closer!!
  8. No then you haven't got them. About 3 cars ago whilst reversing out of a car park with pillars both sides I ripped off the nearside mirror & was pleased when my Octy 3 had the folding feature - didn't realise how expensive a replacement was & SWMBO still reminds me of the fact.
  9. Are you sure your car is equipped with folding mirrors? Have a look on the mirror adjustment knob & see if there is a symbol that when you move to it the mirrors fold in. My owner manual page 58 shows you the symbol.
  10. Standard on my Elegance & I find them useful in dark garage & elsewhere. Why would you want to turn them off? Likewise DRLs?
  11. Positive - apparently it was caused by the sun which under the windscreen intensified the heat to the point that caused it to grip the dashboard which made an indentation. Mine did lift off easily at first, but after leaving it in position for quite a while over the summer that was the result. Might not cause you a problem but thought I would share my experience as it cost me money on my p\ex.
  12. I put one of those silicone mats on a previous car dash & after several weeks it had stuck firm to the dash & left an indented outline of itself when I removed it. That indent never recovered it's shape & was commented upon when I traded the car in. Be careful it might cost you money!!
  13. Took my car to local dealership Friday & they are being refurbished. Will take until middle of January & in the meantime there is nowhere to park, portakabins & portaloos. Staff can't understand why they have to rip out a perfectly good showroom only to rebuild with the same facilities just laid out differently. I don't care if all showrooms look the same it's the service that I am interested in.
  14. The 2 pipes too close together. They were somewhere in the engine compartment & the tech had to have the car up on the ramp to get at them. Hopefully now fixed but time will tell, at least noise has gone.
  15. For the past few days noticed a vibrating noise at 1200rpm when stopped or driving. Didn't come in lower than 1200rpm & went above that level.Took into dealer this afternoon & after much searching they found it was 2 air conditioning pipes vibrating against one another. Moved them apart & placed some sort of cushioning material between them. They state they have never seen this problem before & can't understand why it has happened. If you get similar noise might be worth considering this.
  16. Your picture shows the clear part misted up & running, so either the water build up is causing that or the moisture getting in is collecting in the lower light cluster causing condensation. Either way I would want it sorted so a dealer visit looks on the cards.
  17. Yep optional extra on my Elegance. Bit annoying having paid extra & now find someone with VCDS could have done it for me for a few beers.
  18. It's free to register. I did & of course when you read the literature you can decide if you want to use it. If you are unfortunate enough to need such a service & in the circumstances then at least you will have the facility.
  19. Don't know if it's the same as you describe, but new owners were reporting the offside wiper sticking on screen just before A pillar & when it released it banged against the pillar. Mine was same and dealer refused to adjust it so a good screen clean with water & white vinegar then polish off with a scrunched up newspaper & problem solved. Seems like screen was greasy & needed a good clean as the wipers were doing such a good job they were binding to the screen in places.
  20. Many thanks for your reply billat29. It is Windows so will give it a go. I didn't know any of the info - in my schooldays slates & chalk was high tech so I struggle with what kids now learn from an early age!!!!
  21. Being shall we say "an oldie & not good with computers" can someone offer me the next step? Using the Amundsen link on andyvee's post I downloaded the file (6Gb). When I have saved the current data on the SD card & formatted it do I just drag the download to the SD card & that is the job done? Does it automatically unzip the file to the SD card. Thanks
  22. +1 for Norton's at Lincoln. I achieved almost £2k better than deals elsewhere thanks to £500 off from Skoda plus a Horton deal of a further £500 off at the time. They gave me a better p/ex and discount on a number of extras & a couple of freebies. Along with free servicing for 3 years I was pleased with my deal.
  23. Even though my dealer can almost see Grimsby docks it still took over 2 weeks. Depends on transporter loading & how many cars for a particular area.
  24. It was part of the spec in my Elegance & it works OK, however the TomTom that I used before it was far easier to use. I know there are European issues with safety cameras being installed & on a couple of journeys the dynamic update took me on some very peculiar routes. I have yet to update it having read some of the comments in the forums about problems doing so. My major gripe is that when the car goes so does the sat nav, so the TomTom with free updates is still in the boot ready just in case. Also take a look at another post further down the list entitled - S L O W Amundsen.
  25. If your car has been built (dealer would be able to confirm that) you can give Skoda UK a call & they should be able to tell you where it is. They were able to give me the name of the ship it was allocated to & the date of shipment. You can then track the ship on the internet. I did that for my Octy - bit sad but when you are waiting it helps to know. Your "workmate" looks a lot better than my sad PTS heap which I drove before retirement!!!!
