  1. Laura is pretty hopeless at most things. Tell her to switch to BBC Radio 2 and she responds with "Do you mean Radio by Robbie Williams?", say no and she says "Do you mean Radio by the Corrs?" etc etc. I can get her to switch to LBC but Radio 2, 4, or 5 she very rarely manages. She will actually give examples of what you can say to her if you ask her. Giving her Sat Nav instructions is far from easy to but I use Waze anyway.
  2. The current version will do that. A USB stick is probably better as not sure you could get the whole thing on a CD. Most versions of Linux can be run from a USB stick to try them on your PC. https://linuxmint.com
  3. I have a 2020 Kamiq in white. Does anyone know the colour for the rear diffuser. It's a sort of cross between silver and bronze. It has a couple of scratches that I would like to touch up. I've searched online but can't find anything.
  4. It's not tied to having a subscription. It should work. However mine rarely understands my instructions, particularly trying to change the radio channel. She usually plays Robbie Williams song Radio instead.
  5. I had it happen on a Peugeot. I looked online for a solution and several suggested put the key in and give it a sharp tap on the end as if tapping it into the lock. One tap freed it off. I then lubricated the lock and it never happened again.
  6. My insurance did cover the cost, I just paid £75 excess. I presumed the price on the invoice was what my insurance would be paying and was surprised how expensive it was.
  7. I had mine replaced by Autoglass and it took a couple of hours. Was done on my insurance but was surprised how expensive it was to replace, almost £1100.
  8. My Kamiq comes up with the message occasionally. The Sat Nav and Android Auto work normally. Mine had the SOS module replaced under warranty which reduced how often it happened but it still does it occasionally. Mine seems to be geographical as there are certain roads I travel on where it often comes up with the SOS message. I wonder if it's related to the quality or lack of mobile phone signal.
  9. A lot. A couple of years ago my dealer quoted £163 just to change the front pads so dread to think how much they would want to do discs too. There's nothing wrong with pattern discs and pads, some are probably better than factory ones, so using an independent garage would be more economical.
  10. I've done mine. Not too difficult. The slide pins need an Allen key to remove them, I think it was 6mm but can't be certain. Thing to watch is when you put the slide pins back in. They are very easy to cross thread so make sure they are perfectly in line before you screw them in and only tighten them using your fingers until they are well in. There is a bit that sticks up on the bottom of the carrier that the caliper must be fitted inside to get the pins to line up properly. I can't remember what torque I used on the slider pins, 20Nm comes to mind but worth doing a search online to check.
  11. I think you will run into problems with the sensors that detect a blown bulb (CANBUS?). I agree that the reversing lights are poor.
  12. My Kamiq seats were a problem for my back and I tried various commercial solutions without success. The thing that worked was a small piece of sponge behind my bum, only about 8 inches high and just less than the width of the seat. Keep the seat fairly upright too. Since using that I have had no back problems.
  13. The majority of people who buy a car do NOT buy a new car. Used electric cars seem even harder to sell than new ones, which is not really surprising as electric cars have a much more limited life than an ICE car. I have never bought a new car and usually buy a one or two year old car that has had some of the depreciation taken out of it. For this I get a car which feels virtually new and has many years of life left in it. Doing the same with an electric car would give me a much shorter life and the car would be virtually worthless at the end of the batteries life. We will be in a situation where there are thousands of perfectly good cars that are scrap just due to the batteries being too expensive to replace. It doesn't sound very ECO to me.
  14. Milton is less aggressive than bleach and very effective at cleaning things like that.
  15. I just fancied a change. I bought those wheels in the mid 70's and they have been very good. Still have the originals in storage, well the hubs at least. Have changed/upgraded many other things over the years. Newest improvement was an Alton electric start kit.
