  1. I've never found any either.
  2. My Kamiq does it. More when parked on my sloping drive but still does it when parked on level ground sometimes. I complained to the dealer about it and they said it was perfectly normal! In 50+ years of car ownership it's the first car I've had that does it. I wonder about the long term effects on the bottom of the doors re corrosion.
  3. Not keeping a car for very long is a recipe for being hit with depreciation. Buying new and trading it in after a year, or less, is probably the worse for depreciation; but, as you've found out, nearly new and sell after a short time can be pretty bad too. Main dealer margins are probably the worst for this. Is just the way it works. Don't buy an electric car, or you will be suicidal when you try to sell it.
  4. The problem with all the ones that don't cover the steering wheel completely is that the baddies can just cut a piece out the steering wheel really easily and remove them. We had that happen to my wife's car outside our home. We then bought a Disklock for the replacement car and have used it since. It is quite heavy & cumbersome but is pretty secure. You soon get used to using it. Ours is also yellow so is a very visible deterrent. All these things just buy you time if the thieves are determined enough to take your car they will. We are just trying to make ours less attractive to them.
  5. That isn't correct. Some adaptors do only pass voltage and are designed for charging things only. Most adaptors nowadays pass data also. Just ensure if you buy one that it mentions data or similar in it's description, or ask the seller.
  6. Check the wattage of the bulb you replaced is exactly the same as old one. I put a normal 21/5 stop tail bulb in my Octavia and warning light stayed on. I then found out that they use 21/4 watt bulbs and that one watt makes a difference.
  7. The Government seem clueless about most forms of technology and just swallow what the tech companies tell them and then throw all their eggs in one basket. How many times have they been ripped off with failed IT systems? BT/Openreach in particular have had a very easy ride.
  8. Mine is the same. I've even tried charging the battery fully and it still works when it feels like it. I got the dealer to look at it on the last service and they said it was operating correctly. Bizarre thing is that it works more often at night with the lights on than during the daytime. Just really weird.
  9. The way I understand it is that if you don't take the 25% as a lump sum, then each time you take some out 25% of that is tax free. This is assuming that you are leaving it as a pot of money and drawing down some as you need it. If you're buying an annuity I'm not sure, but annuity rates are criminally low. If you have a decent sized pot it's really worth paying for some financial advice as pensions are complex and you only usually get one bite of the cherry.
  10. Dealer says there isn't a problem. It is worse when I park on my sloping drive, which is most of the time. Water dribbles out when I open the door, both drivers side & passenger side do it. Had an Octavia previously and never had the problem with that. I just wonder about the long term and if the bottom of the doors will rot. In other posts some dealers have said the doors are wax sealed so it won't be a problem. I hope they are correct.
  11. I'd like it if the doors didn't fill up with water while it's parked and hold it there until you open the door. Dealer says it's fine but never had a car do it before.
  12. Not sure if this helps but these cars use a slightly unusual twin filament bulb. It's a type 566 and is 21w/4w. If you put a more conventional 21w/5w one in it will work but the warning light stays on.
  13. Pretty sure they wind back. Was a few years ago that I changed my rear pads but don't remember it being difficult. Probably the clue to whether they do need winding back is if the pistons have a slot in them or not.
  14. Nor do I normally but got 2 services included with purchase deal. Foolishly thought it meant I wouldn't get a big bill for a couple of years.
