  1. Hi All, I think the answer is yes to this, I purchased my elegance 4x4 Estate 170 a while back, I regret not going for a few options such as the panaromanic sunroof, auto opening boot (this being my first estate, didn't realise how useful this would be) plus I don't really like the colour I purchased it in. I didn't actually see in the flesh as there were hardly any estates around, as a car the 4x4 estate is a dream to drive hence why I would consider another one. When I was at Goodwood I saw the Elegance L&K at Goodwood in white and loved it, through drive the deal I can get a car with the full spec I want for 28k (4x4 170 L&K) in white. I went to have a look at a few other brands recently, mazda CX5, BMW 530d which made me realise how great the Skoda is and how amazing value for money is. My thoughts are that I keep the Car to the end of the 3 year period and chop it in or change it now, as it stands the Superb ticks all the boxes from what I want in a car and is very reasonable to run. Is it worth doing, ultimately I always use my car allowance so I wouldn't look at it as too much of a hit on me personal finance wise. What are the waiting list now on these and is there a new model on the horizon in the next year?
  2. Hi, take your time choosing the colour, I got mine in aqua blue and hate it.... Love the car but when I ordered back in Dec 2010 there weren't hardly any estates around especially in aqua blue, I went from the sample colours....:( I saw an elegance l&k in white at good wood, looked so much nicer, I also see a couple in black and the champagne colour I like. This is completely my fault, I'm just saying take your time so you don't end up like me, I was considering chopping it in for an l&k but its not financially worth it. They will probably also release a new one in a couple of years Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  3. Hi both the s2 and s3 work fine, well mine do anyway on a 2011 model Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  4. I also saw the article on the BBC, what an amazing couple. I am subject to getting bored and changing my car every 1 - 2 year but watching that article really made me think, it's better to see the world then losing thousands on swapping cars. Saying that I have done my fair share of traveling Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  5. As the title says they had a white L&K estate, looked really nice in the flesh, liked the wheels and the brown leather looked almost black. If I was ordering now I would have probably gone for this option in white. Also had the new skoda rapid which is a very nice looking car
  6. This topic is funny, it's the only car forum I've ever seen where people are wanting the 17"s over the 18"s, admittedly I used to spend my time on various BMW forums where the huge rubber band effect was the preferable option with rubbish run flats. Hope you manage to get your car ordered, I'm sure there are people on here that would be more then willing to swap. As for the cost of tyres I personally think they are a bargain given I got 14k out of the fronts. £136 a tyre was more then reasonable from black circles, I'm used to paying £200+ though on the old run flats so anything cheaper is a bonus.
  7. Please ignore the spelling the auto correct on my new phone its awful Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Yep , it's all about the looks, I'm happy too day it, without them the superb would look really bland Each to there own though, I prefer a sportier looking car which I appreciate is a bit superficial. If I'm paying a fair chunk for a car I've got to like the way it looks. The 18" wheels run fine, the they are also cheap, previously I was paying over 200 a tyre on the bmw so these are a bargain Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Having owned around 10 new cars including BMW's & VW's I can honestly say the Superb is the most hassle free motoring I've ever had....
  10. Yep, that's what I'm like, I'm going to keep the superb for day to day running and taking the dogs out. I'm now saving up for a fun weekend motor, the plan is to pay the superb off in the next 6 months. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
  11. I've been looking at the same as you, the new BMW f31 m sport is a nice looking motor, common sense tells me to stick with the superb estate 4x4 as its such good reliable car that I really can't fault, if I was buying new now though I would have to choose carefully as the Surperb is due a refresh in the next year or two. I've fully spec'd the new 320d m sport to around 38k,it's still missing lots of things that come standard on the skoda such as electric seats, folding mirrors etc. There are some cool gadgets on the BMW but like the park assist on the Skoda, would you actually use it once the novelty has worn off. Also the thing that really narks me is the fact you have to have run flats, having owned a couple of bmw's I can say they are crap and screw the ride, on 18" tyres you are looking at around 230 a tyre compared to £130 a tyre on the Skoda. I wanted the 19" wheels but £350 a tyre is just binning money IMO. BMW recommend adaptive suspension to sort the ride out, I'm not paying £500 to fix their ride issues. Also where I live I would need winter tyres as I got bored of getting stuck in snow every year for the past 3 years, typical that I got the superb 4x4 and it hasn't snowed :0)) As said before if you get he right options the beer is a fine motor., Estoril blue is a lovely colour.
  12. Nice to see some personalisation on your superb, I may have to do something on mine soon as im getting bored of the look, surprised at some of the comments on this subject. Looks like you've upset the establishment ;0))))
  13. Not a fan of blue myself but great to see a bit of personalisation on the superbs, especially now they are becoming quite common.
  14. 35, got my superb 170 4x4 elegance estate, its a car that I can't fault as a day to day runner, I just struggle to be enthusiastic about it :0( strange I know. Just saw the new 320d m sport estate, overpriced and under spec but dam it looks good in estoril blue with 19"'s, probably rides like ****
  15. Yep, hook up the aux port to your headphone jack. Start your pod cast from the iPhone and it will start playing thought the aux port, you can't control it via the head unit though
  16. I actually really like it, it adds a nice bit of detail to the bodywork, almost like an Audi A4 all road.
  17. Moveable head rest and pull out leg rest bits like I had in my BMW's, great for support on the back of the leg. A sportier VRS version similar to M sport or Sline models ;o)) Sat Nav is not too bad, however could do with an update - I stream media from my Galaxy Note over Bluetooth. Auto Start/Stop on all versions. Reversing camera - Cool gadget (my wife has it on her Kia Sportage) A good Hybrid version ( I know the tech is not quite there yet but it maybe in a couple of years) When's the new one due anyway?
  18. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced bugs with the bluetooth interface, it's starting to drive me up the wall. I have a blackberry and Galaxy note paired to the car. The following happens periodically Problems I've seen 1. Complete lock up of interface - then I get the error message stating "only available when stationary". 2. Lost memory of all phones, when I try to add it shows the phone pass code but locks up. Both the above completely lock the interface, it takes around 24 hours for it to forget the messages above. I have taken the keys out, tried it after an hour but still no joy. Both menu options have the cancel option but it doesn't work, you have to hold the back button for 30 seconds to get out of the phone menu. If you then try to go back into the phone menu it's still locked up. Is anyone aware of a software update that fixes this?
  19. My superb is just over a year old, I also notice the air on doesn't go very cold, may ask the, to look at it when it goes in for a first service.
  20. Yep, exactly the same as mine, even with vents fully open. If you turn on the directional air con i.e. the 3 buttons, one points towards your body one points downwards and the other one up and set the air con to full speed and it will start blowing out. I also noticed on 18 it's not that cold compared to other cars, even when down at min. I've learned to live with it as a feature
  21. Funny that, I also posted that a few months back. It's only when you appear to press the directional air con buttons thus disabling auto mode that they start pumping out hot or cold air at a noticeable rate, this is different to any other car I have owned and there are have been quite a few of them. I have just put it down to being a Skoda quirk, if I need a blast of cold air and auto isn't doing the trick I just press one of the -> air con buttons to blast cool air and increase the air flow button.
  22. They usually do that when a particular model is coming close to the end of it's life before a new model comes out to keep interest. I have noticed there are around 6 new colours on the Superb compared to when I ordered mine in Dec 2010
  23. Hi All, I wanted to get your views on the leather quality in the Superb, I've noticed that is marks far easier then any other leather interior I've had. I use leather care once a month to try and maintain it, it does seem very delicate though, certainly more so then in the VW's and BMW's I've owned. Is this one of the areas they cut cost to get such a high spec car at a great price? Any tips or recommend products for maintenance?
  24. This week I noticed on the roads the huge increase in Superb Estate's, anyone else notice? When I got mine a year ago I was very lucky to see one a week, on average I see 10+ a day now. It's great to see them becoming a popular option.
  25. good point , I may just do that ;o)) the tuning that is, don't think you can take the whining out of me
