aaaah the old control unit i taped it up after installing a replacement and the used a spray of ignition sealer to add to the protection

where did you find the sump with gasket?

I like to keep things subtle but modified as oe as i can

check the loom between door and body for splits in the wiring , if all ok then you need a new lock mechanism

it was a very grey nice mk3 VRS petrol on the Racingline rims, airlift suspension, loads of carbon fibre and blood red leather trim (i would own it that's how nice it was) also 12 years newer and a lot less miles 😛
