When to replace battery?
@nta16 - thanks for the info - I put the battery on "Pulse repair" charge mode yesterday, (it took longer to charge than the normal mode) Unfortunately when inspected today it was down to 60% charge so it seems like a genuine problem with the battery. I will charge it once again on Pulse repair mode just in case I get different results. I doubt if the warranty period extends to 5 years but will have a talk with the garage that installed it on the off chance they might give me a discount on a new one

When to replace battery?
Started having problems with my battery over the past 6 months, car struggling/failing to start. The battery is now five years old (see the images for the brand and details) (I'm not using the car much these days due to shoulder surgery) As can be seen from my charger, the battery charge drops a lot over an 18 hour period I charged it to full yesterday at 6pm (it was at 20% full before the charge), and checked the following day at midday and it was down to approx 40% That said, I went on hols for 10 days in July and the car started first time When I came back which was surprising Subsequent starts would require a jump start (from a NOCO Boost unit) but occasionally it'd start without a boost. With the engine started, battery voltage gets to 14v (which I think is indicative of the alternator functioning ok?) When the battery is charged to full the stop start system seems to work okay. My question is whether there could be some current drain which is pulling the battery voltage down overnight? (For example alarm/immobiliser etc) If so, what would be the best way to measure this? I have a multimeter but not too sure if that's the appropriate tool for this purpose. My next experiment will be to detach the battery from the car, charge it to full, and then check the charge 24 hours later to see if it has dropped. Any advice appreciated - thanks! Measured at 1pm the following day (40% full)

How To - Reverse Camera Fitting Guide
Hi @weyland / all, Just getting around to doing the install now but having an issue trying to extract the unit - did yours pull all the way out? I can only get mine this far, as the cables are preventing it from pulling out further, have tried to pull out the connector out from underneath/behind the head unit but it's proving difficult. Also tried pulling the cables to get some more slack but very little give in them to pull out any further Any tips appreciated - thanks! C:\Users\ferga\Downloads\stereo2.png

Octavia error codes on start up
When this occurred several times before, during a drive all the warning lights would turn off and adaptive cruise control, Park Pilot would all function normally again. However I have observed that within the same journey, all the warning lights could turn on again - it was very intermittent, now it seems permanent. Originally, the warning lights seemed to coincide with when I washed the car - as if moisture was causing the issue, though it would also happen on dry days. We had a very wet March here in Ireland and that was when the issue started again, though this may be just coincidental

Octavia error codes on start up
Hi Per this video, I am getting a lot of error codes on start up (sorry but I couldn't change the orientation): This series of codes appeared several times before but only lasted for a few days and then went away, this time they appears every time I start the car for the past 4 or 5 weeks. Since they previously appeared then disappeared, I assumed they were not validly showing any physical problem with my car. Has anyone seen such instance of all these error appearing? and if so, what did you need to do to resolve it? Thanks a lot Fergal

Small ceiling lights question (Mk 3 Octavia estate)
Hi Above the gear stick in the roof panel are these 2 very small lights (these are not the map reading lights that come on when you open the door) which provide a very small yet useful amount of illumination to the gear stick area when driving. Only today did I notice that there are two similar rear-facing lights which do not seem to work (there's something else in the middle between these 2 lights but I don't know what it is). My question is do these rear lights (I assuming that's what they are) work for others? Could there but a blown fuse that is preventing these lights from coming on? Thanks! Fergal

Speaker connectors & suggested location for crossover unit in door
@Bellows sorry for the big delay on replying to this - but yes - didn't use the original tweeter wire, and yes, great sound improvement but tweeter sound is a little bit too bright so used the graphic WQ to pull down the treble a bit

Speaker connectors & suggested location for crossover unit in door
I ended up gluing magnets to the back of the crossover and attached to the door with the magnets. The wiring for me was very straightforward I cut off the original connector and spliced in the speaker specific connector.

Speaker connectors & suggested location for crossover unit in door
Hi I'm installing upgraded speakers in my 2015 Octavia and they are a separate woofer/tweeter unit with crossover. Any suggestions as to where I should mount the crossover? Also - there are separate wires for the woofer and tweeter - I'd be surprised if these wires carried different signals (ie; high freq. for the tweeter and low freq. for the woofer) - or do they? Can I use the wires that go to the woofer connector and connect them to the input of the crossover? Also - the black section I have marked as "What is this?" - anyone know what it is? Thanks for your help! Fergal

Question re; Bilstein B8 front shock - 50 or 55mm strut diameter?
This is the label from the current shock. It was a bit awkward to measure the strut diameter but it looks a lot closer to 50mm than 55mm
