    Currently a 2017 Yeti 1.4 on Autotrader for £22.5k!!

..latest WBAC valuation £14k up £1k in a week....barking mad...
  3. Stubod replied to Cogra's topic in Skoda Yeti
..wow, that's crazy...my last WBAC was up again and now stands at £12,750, ie £2k+ on this time last year, but again I assume the car I would replace it with will also have gone up, so not really any "gain"...
  4. ..get yourself a decent smart charger and plug it in occasionally if you are doing mainly short trips...
  5. ..not on it's own (unless you have solar panels). You will need to put it on charge for an hour so depending on the battery condition. NB How old is the battery and what sort of mileage have you been doing of late, (short trips will kill a battery as you need to do 8+ miles per trip to recharge it. I have found that modern batteries work fine, but when they start to go they go quickly and without any warning. ie work fine one day and "dead" the next...

The Vitara was going to be my "replacement of choice", and I did have a test drive in one, (wanted auto so went for the 1.4 petrol which also has the more traditional torque convertor gearbox which I prefer). It was a really nice drive, but as you say not quite the "quality" feel of the Yeti. Anyhow that was pre covid and I still have the Yeti. I can't really find anything else I like better so will probably be keeping it a while longer. I find it almost the perfect compromise car, not too big, but with the rear seats out very practical. Also reasonable 40+mpg from AWD. I would have happily purchased a newer one had they made them past 2017!
  7. ..wheres the toilet and shower??
  8. I understand that there was a "known" problem with the rear window wipers. Certainly had it on mine, (although it's a 2015 model). Luckily I got the motor replaced under warranty, and it's been fine since...
  9. ....pleased your all sorted. When mine went I did experience a couple of "wobbly" moments (jerky / low power),when pulling off for the first time after start up. I put this down to the system "sorting itself out"?.......always settled down after a few seconds though and never gave any problems while driving other than the warning lights...?
  10. ... ...mine was also the offside rear sensor...perhaps just a 1 in 4 coincidence?
  11. ..these are exactly the same 5 warning lights that came on mine a couple of weeks ago. I had just replaced the battery and thought that had caused it somehow. Turned out it was just one of the wheel sensors. They cost about £30 and £60 to fit ('ish). You need an ODB reader to find out which wheel. There is 1 sensor per wheel, and if one fails the electrics assume one wheel is not turning so it effects all of the above lights. (The sensors are just a magnet inserted into the wheel that count the "splines" as the wheels go round....) At least I hope that's your problem. (Mine did go off after I turned off the ignition, but then would come back on. NB I was advised that it was perfectly safe to drive until the sensor was replaced....) lol...the reason you "think" only half the power steering light comes on is because part of the light is hidden behind the speedo centre "button"...

..just checked and it's gone up again this week!?....now £12.5k......(started the year at around £10.3k)....

For the last few days the alerts have been on every time I start the car. (They had been going off once the car had been "stopped for a while). However, I had the wheel sensor replaced today and so far no dash light alerts...keeping fingers crossed!

..wow!!..thats more than I paid for mine which was only 2 years old t the time with 7k miles!

..this is getting silly, another week and another increase in value from WBAC...a couple of months ago it was about £10.5k, today they are suggesting £12.25k!? (OK I know I wouldn't get that), but it still seems a bit bizarre that their valuation has gone up by the best part of £1k per month? If I could find something to replace it with I could be tempted!

...just gone up in value again this week...?!

..looks like it might be a wheel sensor?....just coincidence that it failed just after the battery was changed?

Started the car, and no warning lights showing, drop into local Indy for a check with OBD reader, no faults showing. Drive for 20+ miles and some warning lights come on. Stop for a minute and turn engine off / on twice and the lights go out. I am sure it happens (ie warning lights come on) when the battery reaches a certain voltage? Any suggestions / solutions gratefully received?
  19. ...yep, belt on mine not chain, so hopefully yours will be a little cheaper!!
  20. Pump and cambelt on mine cost around £650..(indy prices....).

..just had another updated valuation from WBAC and it has gone up again to £11,750...that's the best part of £1k increase in about 3 weeks...?! ...by the end of the year I will be able to swap for a brand new car... ..
  22. !!!...well I never...you learn something every day!!.... Only problem is we normally leave 2 of our rear seats out..

I started putting my Yeti on WBAC last year as pr-covid I had every intention of selling. I think the highest I was offered was £11.5k. Started putting it on again this year and the first "offer" was £10.5k, but the latest one they have increased to £11.25??...problem is I still can't decide what to replace it with! (Had a mate come around the other day with a T Cross and I think I may add one to my "wish list"...)

Took the car out again today, journey out fine, journey back all the lights came on again after about 12 miles. Stopped and re-started and all was well for about 2 miles then they all came back on again. Stopped and re-started and they have all gone out again. Will be taking it back for a "plug in" check next time we are passing the garage. Interestingly since the battery change the Stop/Start has been working from the off, so I think the original dealer sold it with a "slightly" duff battery as for the last 3 years the only time the S/S has ever worked has been after a long (70+mile) journey).
