  1. I had this problem with the rears and nearly gave up, but I found with perseverance and much pushing and swearing the screw eventually reached the nut and I was able to tighten. Agreed, a longer screw (down boy! :p ) would be a welcome addition to the kit and make the job a lot easier.
  2. Love the colour but it don't half show the dirt! My previous Aqua Blue showed it a lot less.
  3. Great instructions matey, took the plunge and tried it, worked a treat
  4. I've always liked the way they do that, especially when there's plenty of people around to impress!
  5. The 1.4 has noticeable more grunt than the old 1.2 (an extra 40 odd psi) but the 1.2 is no slouch and now has a little more power than the one I had so the difference may not be that apparent. Enjoy your choice dilemma!
  6. The brown seats definitely didn't put me off in the least. They look far better 'in the flesh' than in the brochure and I like them just as much as the black ones in my previous Yeti.
  7. After much deliberation I decided a spare wheel-less Yeti was not for me! The added feel better feeling was to hard to resist so I bit the bullet and bought one with all the bits and pieces from Caffyns. It wasn't cheap but the service from them was brilliant, arriving a couple of days after ordering. Took about an hour to fit and after experiencing the without, now know I prefer the raised floor. Hope I never have to use it (never did in 5 years of No.1) but I now have both spare and gloop!
  8. Ah, sometimes I can press the TV remote countless times when searching through the myriad of channels for something worth watching, so having to press the unlock button twice is absolutely nothing!
  9. How the heck did my first impressions post end up talking about reading road conditions whilst astride a motorised bicycle?
  10. Yeah, that's my usual method too! I foresee a press this and see what happens session coming on
  11. Blimey, I see I'm going to have a wade through the handbook (eek) and try and fathom out what I've let myself in for!
  12. The main problem with doing this was all the surrounding boxes etc. are different on the 2wd and wouldn't have fitted the new 4wd model and would have complicated matters.
  13. Yes, I bought the 1st Yeti new and specified the spare, this one I bought at 7months old so didn't have the choice :| I see there's a few kits on ebay, one just the raised floor and tool kit and would have to buy the wheel separately, a lot cheaper than Skoda prices! Think I'll just keep my eyes open and wait for a bargain.
  14. Had the 1.4 L&K for the best part of a week now and so far very impressed. The Petrol Blue (although not my first choice of colour) looks stunning in sunlight but shows the dirt far more than the Aqua Blue of our first one, so will need to wash it a bit more regularly! The 1.4Tsi engine is a gem, far more responsive and is bringing out the long forgotten boy racer in me, s**it off a shiny shovel springs to mind! The Amundsen sat nav is far easier to use than I feared and works very well, I prefer it to our Garmin unit as the route instructions seem to be clearer. The sun roof is great and the cabin is a far nicer place to be with daylight streaming through. The wife wonders why there is a mixture of brown and black on the interior trim and it should be all one or the other, I personally quite like it. Haven't used all the bells and whistles yet and salesman advised us to find a safe place to try out the self parking gismo, will need to pluck up courage to try this! Might be my imagination but car feels a lot more sure footed with the 4 wheel drive. DAB radio was an unexpected bonus, must have missed this in the brochure. The only thing I would have liked is a spare wheel so will probably get a kit later. Mind you, the extra boot space may be something we don't want to give up on. All in all very pleased so far
  15. You're not wrong there! Suppose you could have a quick blink in the time saved
  16. Blimey, how long does it take to press the fob button twice?
  17. Oh well, I've been and gone and done it. Today I purchased a 7 month old Yeti L&K 1.4 in Petrol Blue. It's done 3,000 miles and was a Skoda management car. I originally intended getting another 1.2 Elegance (now SEL) but the price would have been very similar and without all the bells and whistles, plus the endless wait! Anyway, I pick it up in 10 days (time to transfer cherished plate etc.). On test drive you could feel the extra oomph of the 1.4 engine over the 1.2. Really looking forward to another 5+ years of Yeti ownership.
  18. Thanks mate, hope to get a test drive this week. This one has done around the same mileage as yours so all sounds good! I'm glad it's cam belt, my 1.2 is a fairly early one and concerns me a little.

    L&K 1.4tsi

Now then, I have the opportunity of getting a low mileage L&K 1.4 TSI 150 registered in November 2015 and just wonder what engine type this has. Is it an updated version of the timing chain version or does it have a timing belt? Have tried googling but can't find a definitive answer. TIA

    How long?

Today is the 5th anniversary of picking up our Yeti. This started me wondering who on here has had their current Yeti the longest. I imagine there must be a few who've had theirs longer. On the whole we've been very happy with the car and would more than likely buy another one. It's now done 25000 miles and passed it's 3rd MOT today.
  21. Ah, that's better, thank you kindly
  22. Hmm, sorry, link not working for me :wonder:
  23. I quite like the look of this and wouldn't feel I was deserting the fold completely. We've been looking round for something to replace our Yeti sometime this year, and after looking at and rejecting (for various reasons), the Kadjar, Tucson, CX3, ASX, and Countryman decided that another Yeti was favourite. Think we may wait and see what this looks like in the metal before final decision
  24. You must have a very low crazy threshold
