  1. just rust time has taken its toll 27 years is a long time for steel to stay free of rust here in wet UK. Has been repaired mainly the rear on both sides replaced with new steel.
  2. Well my 1998 Felly 1.3 I have had from new has gone in for some repairs to the sills just welding and it is going to cost me a lot a hell of a lot but in the end she is worth it and there is no way I would scrap her it would be like losing a member of the family I would rather leave her on the drive and let her rot away. Anyway she will be up and running in a day or two. will post a pic when she back.
  3. I trust the car is a 1.3 MPI engine, when starting do not touch the accelerator pedal if car do's not start after say a few turns of the starter motor then do not keep turning the engine over you will only flood it. Have you had the car running ok in the past and when did this starting problem begin have you changed anything, Like electrical. The engine sounds ok when it started in the video so we can say its not mechanical so must be fuel or electrical have you taken out a spark plug to see if it sparks ok. Is the fuel ok not old or in any way contaminated say water ect. my bet would be electrical but im no expert at all.
  4. My 1.3 Felly has never failed to start in any weather all I do is keep it std spec and service it even in this cold snap we have at the moment. Just follow the manufacture instructions and you cant go wrong after all they made it. A good battery is a must have.
  5. I purchased a genuine Skoda fan motor very cheep some time ago off Ebay and replaced mine just for the sake of it the car is 26 years old, so the one I took out was still working ok I did loose a couple of them clips so I just put some black duck tape on the join looks ok. Good old cars these Skodas I am so glad they are not seen as a popular car more for us that like them. 26 years and still a great car.
  6. I had a look at just a few on Ebay and came up with so many brands for a Skoda 1.3 Felicia 1998 like my car what I have and here are just a few bands STALLEX - APEC - A PREMIUM - NAPA - BAXTER and many more these are the complete housing inc thermostat and me thinks they are all come from China I maybe wrong all are around £20 UK pounds what a steel or are they I could do with having a spare one but which one Sorry jbedford I can not be of much help to you but they are not a lot of money buy 2 and keep a spare.
  7. Just love the video thanks for uploading it, I have a 1998 Fleicia 1.3 MPI and would spend any amount of money to restore it like the one in the video so as I not have a lot of money I will just enjoy my Felly She just had a MOT and it failed on the rear brake first fail in 26 years so off to the garage for her Friday (at 80 I find it a little bit to much to do some jobs now) Here's a pic from 2017 she looks much well this today will try and take a newer pic and post.
  8. I have used this site many times and they are good https://www.skoda-parts.com/online-store.html I live in the UK I see you do.
  9. My Felly had the windows etched when I purchased her from new in 1998, still going strong love it.
  10. Never skimp on your brakes I see you are in the UK the brake shoes are not expensive that's if you do the job yourself and they last a long time.
  11. Well look at this then if the market has dried up A Virtually Extinct Skoda Favorit Black Line Edition with only 20,456 Miles | eBay I would love it but not got the cash.
  12. More Felicia's for them that want them, its not a BMW or AUDI Merc no problem for me all I want is a car to get me from A to B and for the last 25 plus years I have one. And I love it.
  13. Thank you guys me being a tight old man I mite just hang onto my money, after you have gone to the trouble to put up all them links very kind of you.
  14. Thank you all for your input but so much confusion as to what I would require PLEASE can some one just put up a link but please understand I live in the UK EBay would be nice. At the moment I do not require a scanner but it would be nice to have one as I have had this car from new 1998. Or do I need a scanner never had one in 25+ years and she is still running well.
  15. Hope you don't mind me asking, but how much did they charge to reset the airbag light. £10.00 35 for a full scan
  16. Update the garage has sorted it out he used a OBD 2 scanner and choose a year 2000 Fabia to delete the airbag and all was ok, so it seems Fabia air bags are the same as the Felicia. So some of the Felicia can use a OBD 2 Scanner. Light still off after many miles.
  17. 16 pin, black plastic, in a fixed position right at the end of the dash. Just found this OBD2 port Skoda Felicia (1994 - 2001) - Find your plug ! (klavkarr.com) it looks like it for a left hand drive and it using a OBD2
  18. The battery trick did not work light still stays on car running ok, so looks like its a trip to the garage that is unless anyone knows of a cheap OBD scanner that will work on a old Felicia. One good thing I found the port for the OBD it is to the right of the steering wheel thats in the driving seat my car in a right hand drive.
  19. Thank you guys will give the battery trick a try this morning and let you know.
  20. Have you been reading my posting the problem is fixed it was the clock spring that was replaced after I damaged it all I want is for the ECU to be reset. EVERY THING WAS OK BEFORE I BROKE THE CLOCK SPRING. So you do not know how to reset the ECU then ?
  21. Ok guys (and gals) I have fitted the new clock spring it is new and the same as the one I messed up , so the airbag light still stays on I understand I will have to reset the ECU there is no radio or any other thing to worry about can you tell me the way to reset the ECU I have had a look on youtube and it looks easy has anyone don it. Can you tell me like how long do the poss and neg cables have to be together and do I have to leave the car running after the cables are refitted to battery. The car runs just fine no problems at all only seat belt light staying on. While im here I did have a look for the OBD port and I could not find it any were under the passenger side by the fuse box (mine is a right hand drive UK) all under the drivers side and at 80 its not a easy task in fact not much is easy these days. Thanks
  22. Thank you nta16 for your reply, at the moment I am waiting for the new airbag clock spring (if thats what its called) to come from Germany and have not fitted it yet, I was just looking ahead if when I installed it I should get the airbag light still stay on. I do not wish to go into detail how I buggered up the one one the car just to say it's a old man thing. I will post when the new one is installed.
  23. Ok so I am a complete novice when it comes to OBD code readers so what would I need for a SKODA FELICIA MK2 1.3 MPI 1999 I will need to clear the codes (no idea how to do it) when I fit the new airbag clock spring. Any info at all would be very helpful not too expensive for the code reader I am a very old boy on only on state pension, or should I leave it to the garage. Ho I have a laptop if needed.
  24. One for sale on Ebay ok its in the UK USED SKODA FELICIA REAR WIPER MOTOR 1997 HATCHBACK | eBay but it is cheap.
