Okay cheers. I used to use a rear carrier but the weight / movement on the rear glass was always quite concerning. Then went over to roof bars but the risk of damage to great as I'm going for a electric bike ( heavier) now. I've have emailed some local specialists to see what their prices are like. No plans to change the car yet

I appreciate that this query has been raised many times but im looking to fix a removable type tow bar for a cycle carrier onto my Vrs Octavia. Halfords mobile service seems quite expensive. Would a garage fit be cheaper ? Also how do i ascertain the correct wiring fixtures etc.

Okay thanks I don’t think I’ve got the towing Magic system so I presume electrics double up inside the boot ?

Any recommendations for a Tow Bar. Are they a DIY fit ? I’m only looking to fit a cycle rack to it

Can anyone recommend a good source for rear hatch plastic trim clips. I have acquired some from my local dealer but only Two came in the pack. I'm sure there should be more than this ?

I’ll give that method a try. Strange symptons if I brake hard the effect gets worse but not so much when cold or light braking, so I’m thinking a heat issue maybe

I fitted new front discs and pads about a year ago on my VRS. I know seem to have a slight "judder" on braking from the front brakes now. I fitted new Brembo brakes at the time so no skimping there. I can put a dial gauge on the discs to measure run out but might as well fit new kit as the wheels are off. It seems unusual for brakes to got off in this quickly ?

Another thing that I learnt with the VRS is that the factory suspension comes in two specs one being "sport" . The sport version lowers the ride height more and also the front suspension strut has a different machined end to it. Cant remember if the Top mounts differ to ? I had to go to Skoda main dealers in the end for the correct fitting parts but actually i found their prices quite reasonable.

Late to. Im my experience of playing with suspension the shocks make a big difference to the ride. B8s are quite strong. Eibach progressive springs work well but also no suspension should ride on bump stops the VRS fronts are made of study rubber the rears not so ( weak).

Does any one know the part nos for the rear wiper motor water feed pipe, female connector and clip. I’m sure I saw it once called a coupler ?

Could you tell me where this interlock device is located ?

My VRS has done 145K now and still going strong. Interested see what Mileages these can achieve ?

I’ve just fitted yet another rear wiper motor and thought I’d test it out before fitting the rear hatch plastic ( joy) . It would not run at all. After checking the fuse etc gave up for another day however once the hatch was shut it worked fine. Like the front bonnet interlock for wipers is this the same for the rear to ? By the way what’s the best source of rear hatch clips ?

i thought the £40 price was okay as collection only. They are taking up garage space now and rather than going to waste might be useful to someone ? But many thanks for the info on this.

These were wrongly supplied by Bilstein uk. They do not give an equivalent OEM part no just général fit. .
