  1. Many companies don't actually rate on some convictions. I've updated many an SP30 in work for no charge.
  2. A friend of mine will only park in a space she can pull into, if it involves reversing she drives past it.
  3. You'll be pleased to know your DR10 conviction has to be notified for up to 11 years :S Endorsements stay on a licence for: • 11 years from the date of conviction for the following offences: – drink/drugs and driving, – causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink/drugs, and – causing death by careless driving then failing/refusing to provide a specimen for analysis. • 4 years from the date of conviction for reckless/dangerous driving and offences resulting in disqualification • 4 years from the date of offence in all other cases. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/EndorsementsAndDisqualifications/DG_10022425 if you want more information
  4. Point 1 = Incorrect Point 2 = I did like the monte, wouldn't of waited months for it if I didnt? Define 'Not good enough', I would define 'good enough' as being able to be water tight or work on a day to day basis without fault.
  5. Other car brands manage to sell cars for a similar price and be rattle free.. pretty poor answer and almost justifies bad build quality? If you paid full price for the car which is well over 17k would you be saying 'what the hell do people want' and because you got a discount should that mean parts of the car should be WORSE because you paid slightly less lol?
  6. In your scenario it's fine, if you do the 12 month one the policy works out to be £133 a month, the 10 month one is £134 so your not being penalised by taking out a shorter policy and you get your 1 years NCD early (which is fine to claim with other companies... I worked for Elephant/Bell/Admiral and had a 10 month policy which I took to another Insurer no problem) The NCD letter just states '1 Years No Claims Bonus' not '10 months no claims bonus'
  7. I hit black ice before and became a passenger even at a low speed, knocked my confidence a lot as almost had an accident with an oncoming car. Was probably doing like 5mph when I hit it but the car just kept sliding forward and nothing I did helped. I will drive in it if I need to but I won't make a big habbit of it. Before it happened I wasn't really bothered by snow.
  8. Bet it tasted yummy, makes me want some cake now
  9. "This unit does not feature a CD/DVD mechanism" Nice..... So you have to carry your ipod around with you at all times or maybe leave it in the car =/!
  10. And we all know its best to give in for a quiet life eh?
  11. Looks very nice but does take away from the body kit because its all the same colour...
  12. How is it still worth £15,500 when it was no doubt bought for less due to the 20% vat offer? The car can be bought for £17,265 without the VAT offer, adding that in takes it down to around the 14k ish mark?
  13. False economy in an engine that size and power... If you pay 8-9p a litre extra I would expect 1-2mpg extra. It won't really do anything for the engine either as many tests on car programs have proven.
  14. I lol'd at this SE Hatchback £11,970 - 1.2 TSI 86ps SE Hatchback £11,995 - 1.4 MPI 86ps I know which i'd pick!
  15. Well, my dad has a 2009 Seat Ibiza with a 1.4 85bhp petrol engine so I'm assuming it's the same engine? Didn't know they did it in the Fabia so can't be that common! The engine itself is ok, seems a bit gutless for a 1.4 but if your not going to be hoping for blistering speed i'm sure it will do fine lol I didn't have a good experience with the fabia myself so I'm probably not the best person to ask on that side of things! That's the same as the engine in my dads (no that is not a video of his car). Looks like it is the same engine as found this advert on ebay for one car with a 1.4 MPI engine (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Fabia-1-4-MPI-SE-5dr-2011-/320766046760?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4aaf257228) and it has the same BHP as my dads Ibiza Good enough engine, dad gets mid to high 30's on his daily commute and early 40's on a motorway run. Don't think it was a popular engine in the fabia though?
  16. In my experience at least, the jokes of Skoda were very true and had to get rid of the car as a rejection.
  17. My 1.2 TSI 105 didnt really like it when it was cold/damp, it used to idle VERY high and would often stutter when pulling away and kangaroo a bit sometimes. Being that the rest of the car was naff I wasnt overly surprised by it!
  18. ALA.CO.UK Discount ! If you go via Topcashback you get 10.3% cashback OR Quidco are giving you 11% (But they take £5 a year off you and topcashback dont) If you then also use discount code 'PG18V' when your on the site (make sure you go via topcashback) you get 10% off the purchase price too! There's my help for the day
  19. I don't know of any dealership that values a part ex on glasses, most do it on CAP
  20. If you google 10% ala discount code you will find one I not on my pc atm
  21. Boom! My car has one, no scraping ice for me and even ka's have them lol
  22. The cover they are offering can be bought for far less online Please see my guide here http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/202090-gap-insurance-is-it-worth-it/page__pid__2552242#entry2552242
  23. It's always better to get opinions from people who have used the places Any company can say 'We give excellent service' but if their customers say otherwise I know who to believe!
  24. Whether the car is serviced or not it shouldn't cause a door lock to fail.. nor should a car be designed so that a door lock fails after 3 years? Asking if the car has been serviced is just a cheap was of them trying to get out of paying, it serves no relevance to the fault in question.
  25. Not 100% sure if they were accepted but I seem to recall asking a manager who said it was covered, their policy booklet doesn't exclude it under any 'What is not covered' section which is quite extension mentioning things like tyres etc... What's the worst that can happen, they say no? Online says this too "Another option is to make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. If there is no specific mention of this in your insurance policy; in this case, it may be considered as an exclusion that was not notified to you when you signed the contract for your insurance policy. The Financial Ombudsman Service has stated that it would expect an insurer to meet a claim against misfuelling, if there was no clear exception to this in the insurance policy."
