  1. There is every chance i'll be seeing you soon (possibly). I'm swopping 4 wheels for 2 this weekend & i'm cycling the London 2 Brighton.. Thanks the explanation - Above :sun:
  2. I just turn the key & go. Around 6/7 miles it hit 75-80 C. Thats good enough for me to start booting it a little. As Alburg said on cold morning it can take a few miles more & on hot days it takes a bit less but at 18 C it take mine round 6/7 miles. As for driviving styles I dont go above 2 - 2300rpm until I see the oil temp nearing 80 C. I hope this helps
  3. Personally I really like it & yes mine was standard. I work shifts so I always come & go with no traffic. It's a real joy to have for me. Wardth you mentioned it knackers the comsumption, you've got me intrigued, how does this knackering happen? I assumed it didnt really have a bad affect on consumption - Please enlighten me or anyone else.
  4. I saw this on the Whatcar website today & thought it could be part of the next generations of head units. Seems VW has first dibs on these but something I'd imagine may feature in the Mission L or late Octy's & eventaully most models. As a bonus it can be expanded with a hybrid TV tuner and integrated for Bluetooth preparation for £199.99 - food for thought there? I like the idea of a DAB radio - what's your thoughts. I realise Ford have them for some time but seems a nice option to have especially if they still plan to switch off FM in 2015 (can't see that happening though). Looks like a few of you out there like the idea of DAB, from a few recent threads, hopefully this will put a smile on a few faces out there http://www.whatcar.c...ab-radio/262862 Seems you can get them for £350 already. http://www.incar-emp...roducts_id=2699
  5. Fair point - I got carried away! If I had to choose 1 it would be the heated front windscreen.
  6. Firstly I am very happy with my car but if could improve it i'd like...... 1) A Maxidot with more data displayed & one you can tweak yourself. 2) 2 USB chargers in Jumbo box & 2 in the rear of the car (for the kids devices) 3) Card holder for CDT cards or parking tickets etc... 4) Cruise control I can increase in 5mph incriments (for each long press) an overtake assist on long cruises. 5) MFSW as standard - it's a vRS - come on... 6) Intergral Hardrive (32 GB) in Stereo & USB port (hidden) for data transfer. For the future, an infotainment system (option extra upgrade) with tethering capabilites for web access 7) Key less Start/Stop 8) Heated front windscreen would be damn handy 9) Wing mirror blind spot indicators (like the Mercs have - little red LED's on the edge of the mirror) 10) Finally an iluminated door sils so vRS welcomes me in at night! Hope I haven't gone over the the top Mark
  7. I've come along way, now I look at my car history (IMHO): Here we go: * Inherited C- Reg Polo* (Uncles old car) K - Reg Volvo V40* (Auto & very cumfy) G'Dad's old car M-Reg Escort 1.8i - Cost me £5k lasted quite a few years - never will I buy white again! we all know why, yes they only look good 1 day after you wash it. 53 - C3 - New (not sure what I was thinking really but the wife loved it) 06 - C4 VTR (first attempt of a coup'e sporty looking car) - New 09 - C3 Picasso Exl. (Kids arrived on the scene thought i needed a mini MPV) - New 11 - Octy Vrs (realised the kids can sit in a hatchback just fine & wanted some speed after trying a mates car). Bit of poor show but I got my act together eventually
  8. I agree with dubbers the recent cold spells affected my MPG too but I did notice last week my tyres were a little on the low side but since i've pumped in a few more pounds i'm back upto 50MPG (7500 miles on the clock) on a sensible run & rolling on 33/34 PSI. Worth checking your tyres, it's sometimes the simple things that make a difference.
  9. Mine was 2 weeks also, you could be looking 4 days either side of it depending on whether it's one of the first in the port for the next boat or one of the last (which is what you want). Enjoy your 2 week wait, it's the longest 2 weeks you'll have for a while but worth it! Trust me. Regarding the private plate I cant offer any advise.
  10. Me too, good bit of kit IMHO, I'd bit tempted too !! Infact I'd probably say yes & smile all the way home.
  11. Me too, thought they look a tad odd or more out of place.
  12. This is exactly what you'll need. I have this on my car. Also 750 feet will do too. Mark
  13. Looks really nice!! Nice job, would make you think black aint arf bad to own looking at that beauty
  14. Hi, I am considering the same myself, where does the VW kit go inside the car & how long did it take to fit? Would you reccomend it now it's up & running? Any picks to help me decide what to go for. Regards Mark
  15. I'm annoyed too, missed the boat. Didnt get too much notice on this one!
  16. I thought you'd be on here sooner or later. You have the added luxury of a snowsure climate, or at least it seems that way. I do like what you've done with your car, sweet!!
  17. Hey now thats what i'm talking about it. Not that I could get into Tesco with it that low, i'll have to chance shops if they were ever this low.
  18. +1 I'm 100% with you. Seemed like a good idea but in the reality is it's not great, maybe te hatch would look better & with some nice wheels too it might sweet-en the deal?!? :S
  19. Is your status correct, If not looks like your car has changed colour..!?! Or you just could be lucky to have 2 (his & hers?). Blue is best (whoops did I type that!).
  20. I left it pretty general to Skoda, so all models are welcome. It's been a good response so far. Car looks nice !
  21. I assume you didn't go to work for a few days! That is quite a covering
