I do have the full maxidot & I reckon i've clicked on all the options more than once. I spoke to an engineer at Skoda y'day afternoon & he said I should pop back in later today or tomorrow afternoon & they will hook up the car & see what they can do. Do you have one in your deisel car out of interest ?

I went to the dealer today & mentioned I cant get the gear change assistant up on my display (usually sits next to the time on my maxidot). The dealer says his 11 plate Petrol vRS has it & his was also built on week 19 too. Mine is a diesel but could it be a petrol only option ?? I'm a tad confussed/frustrated. Can anyone let me know how to get this up on my display ? please please please...

Ive washed my pride & joy for the 2nd time & I cant help but feel disappointed when i stand back. My car is covered in those blasted drying spots. I haven't got a chamois but im keen to buy something to help rid me of these little devils. Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom about what product is best between the traditional leather or a mit or the old rubber blade. Your comments are appreciated Thank You Mark

I've not even ran my CR in yet & it flies. I cant get over how well it hugs the corners/roundabouts. If you had a nippy car before you'll be no worse off with the Octavia. I took what I thought was one of our faster company pool cars out for a journey this week & it seems so weak comapred to the vRS i'm getting so used to. Space wont be an issue the back end is like a cave ! Have a chat with a dealer & see if they can do you a loaner for the weekend. Just bear in mind the wait for a CR is quite long unless you can find one in the country (like a cancelled order), September is cutting it fine. Mine took 5 months, ordered it at Xmas. Not for me, trying to keep the weight down on my machine?

I'm intending on getting my grill colour coded & my garage said this would be their process (see below). What i'm after is will this do or do I need to add or consider anything else (back to black?). Please bear in mind I tend to drive when others are at work as I do shift work. So traffic is never an issue for me (lucky for some of us eh..). The garage said: The process we intend on taking is to colour code your current grille. By removing the grille & fittings, we intend to prepare the item by removing the smooth surface by means of a very slight sanding & then to apply a plastic primer before spraying the body colour Your thoughts & comments are welcome. The last 100 hours you refer to, is this 100 hours of driving or 100 hours including stationary time in the garage etc.... I'm hoping you will say of driving time. p.s. I have the maxidot option on a 2011 Octy

I just qualify for the 'Good Will' payment as I ordered my car prior to Jan 1st ( by 2 days) & SUK are sorting out with my dealer. MMy dealer told me 'No' & (fingers crossed) the man from SUK say YES!

75 onwards is ok then ? I thought it had to be 90 ish. Mind you if you haven't had any problems then 75 sounds like a good plan. Thanks for the advise

Can anyone offer a little knowledge on something i'm sure has been banded around the forum a few times. I noticed in the handbook it suggests not going past 3/4 of the rev limit for each gear for the first 1000KM. What is the limit for each gear, I cant this info in the manual ? Also I haven't given it beans until the oli has been around 90 oC. When I was at the dealers a customer reccomended getting the oil changed after the first 500 miles to clear out the odds & sods worn off in the engine during running it in, is this advisable ? Can anyone help with the above or have any pearls of wisdom they wish to share. Your comments are appreciated to help me make sure the little fella is ran in right. Mark

purplesweetie you could have a point. I picked mine up from a dealer in Southampton. Does anybody konw if there is that much of a difference between petrol & deisel servicing to warrant an £80 swing? Is the oil or filter that much difference in cost ?

When I collocted my car they offered me the below, is it good value from your experience ? For £445 you get 3 x 10,000 mile services including oil & oil filter. What else would a service require other than the above on the (2011 - New) car ? I am tempted but just wondered if this good value or not, let me know what you think. I got mine late in the day on Saturday. It is cracking. Mine has TPM, silver kick plates (vRS), sweeping needle (looks sporty), shorter shift stick & most importantly Conti tyres! I think mine is not a MY12. Not that i'm at all dissapointed ! I have only put 40 miles on the clock so far, i've been working so much over the weekend & this coming week seems busy too. Hopefully i'll get some miles under the belt this coming wk end. What I need is a friend who needs a lift to the airport so i've got an excuse to shoot off for a few hours. hee-hee
