  1. Evening all, As we know we all like a good picture. I thought it might be nice to start up a thread so we can show off our Skoda's in the white stuff or even a few (clever) moody pictures with a hard cover of frost. Obvoiusly I'm geographically disadvantaged for this task but as soon as I can I will (with the exception of frost). I look forward to seeing some pictures over the coming weeks/months. Mark
  2. I don't know how you manage to work on your car in such a pokey garage. Must be really frustrating where to store your wheels or even find space to lay your tools out. Your a lucky man
  3. Evening all, I'm seriously considering the remap but before I want to see what extra costs i'm going to incur. :p Roughly how much did your insurance go up when the remap was declared? Percentages will be fine I don't need numbers unless you want to say. I heard from a friend who has stage 1 & 2 to his vRS Petrol it went up 16% from the Stock engine. Is this an average increase I'm wondering?? & I can appreciate we will have geographical issues & risk rating issues to sort out but i'm looking for a rough figure to play with. Cheers Mark
  4. This has been submitted by a colleague (Honda Type-R owner) who thought he'd have a laugh as I forgot to log out last night. So dont worry i've still got a pair & i'll get him back. I'm not concerned, he's looking at getting a Kia - enuf said! I am more than happy with my car. No way i'll be changing this anytime soon.
  5. **This post is not a real one ** Just a wind up, mind you it's become a 'Hot Topic' which is a first for me! Seems he's put a cat amoungst the pigeons quite nicely. Never leave yourself logged on - Note to self!
  6. It's worth a punt. I think there aren't too many dealer that cant match or at least get very close. Such a great bargaining chip.
  7. The extras were: Race Blue Spare Wheel Sun blinds (rear & side) Maxidot & rear sensors If I went for White too i'd deffinately be tempted to darken my wheels but they seem ok as they are with a blue shell. You seem to have a good price too given the spec. It's great fun to drive! I just wish I lived further away from work now I enquired with Shark & they qouted £499.99. I might wait for another group buy to achieve a saving, given i've gotta drive from Southampton to make the trip (which I dont mind to get a great service).
  8. You did well. Makes you feel good doesn't it. I got mine for £17K & I think that was fair. Make you fell all goey inside. I'm now considering the re=map but i'm seeking advise first.
  9. Saw this link today on a well known deals site & it seems very good value, especially given the increases from earlier in the year. The only catch is the 50% down & 2 yrs interest free but depends on what your planning it might suit you but certainly not everyone's pocket. Deffinately a good deal though IMHO http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/skoda-octavia-vrs-2-0-fsi-turbo-16-326-drivethedeal-save-4023-0-finance-1043783 Petrol vRS (non DSG) £16326 with DSG £17259 Diesel £16860 - I'm asuming a non DSG. If anyone is planning on swapping soon, might be worth a punt if you are that way inclined? P.S. The Happy xmas only really aplies to Petrol orders.
  10. Stitching doesn't float my boat but I must admit the cars colour is rather striking. Be like driving a massive lime sherbet
  11. I must admit I picked up some of the genuine Skoda/Seat/VW stuff y'day for £3 for a litre of concentrate. Your deal looks good but there isn't a Lidl nearby me & the Skoda grg is pretty close so they win on the balance of economics & me not being bothered to spend an 45-60mins to do a round trip to get something that might not be in stock. Well for you lot that did get some though.
  12. I own a set, PM me later & we can speak/type later. I have Thule 757 feet & steel (square) bars. Are these ok for you? I'm actually thinking of selling them as I have a hatchback now. Let me know if you'd be interested because i'm going upto to Birmingham tomorrow AM & I might be able to meet you en route, at Chievley services perhaps, if it work out for us.
  13. I really like your wheels, what process did you go through to get that colour? Cheers Mark
  14. I'm off on a lads Footy trek to Derby on Saturday morning, so I insisted on driving. Looking forward to giving the girl a damn good run! Should be a blast. I think says how good the car is to drive !
  15. Curry Hook. Sounds very useful, where can I get one from? This obviously in addition to any rear boot hooks I have - I'm being lazy. Plus I enjoy the smell of a curry on the way home, you get that in the boot
  16. Nick P, You make me feel sad. I'm not going skiing this year & your picture has made me feel v/sad because I've remembered how much fun the snow can be. :'( I gotta go next season instead.
  17. Fair comment & i'll check to see if i've got the T adaptors as this might sort out my areo issue on the cycle carrier. The cost is quite low, a fella from work is selling them on our 'For Sale' board, I though they might do for me at the right price of course.
  18. Darren, That would be wonderful if you could do this, i'll then compare to my bike carrier & find a close match from my mans stash of wood cut off's that we all decide to keep but never bloody use! LOL Cheers Mark
  19. Welcome to the club, albeit a tad premature. You cant beat a Race Blue CR vRS. She's a pleaseure to drive, I just now wished I lived further still from work Just remember dont boot it until the oil heats hit 75oC - IMHO. It does have enough toys & if it's something your possibly going to hand back it's not a bad spec'd car. As the kids says you get plenty of bang for your buck with Skoda. Mark
  20. Hi all, Has anyone got these: http://www.accessories.skoda.co.uk/productdetail.aspx?p_no=LAS610001B I'm considering getting a set but i'm not sure if they are areo bars or not. The reason I ask is I will be predomanantly using this for my Thule bike carrier (532 Freeride), which I used to use on my old car with square Thule bars & I'm just not sure if the bike carrier is Aero friendly or requires an adaptor? The picture isn't too clear but I'm thinking I could have to buy aero adaptors & this is more money again. :'( If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Mark
  21. Thanks for this. I haven't got bluetooth but can I get it added from Skoda? If so do you know if this is a clostly route to get bluetooth. Thanks for your help.
  22. Hi all, I've recently noticed I now have a BT-Audio button greyed out on my head unit, not sure how it got there though. It sits along the top next to the Mdeia, Radio & CD button on the touch screen. How do i use/activate this & what is it for? Any help would be appreciated. Mark
