I may of posted this a while back but my Octy vRS was collected the start of week 10 of the quoted 8-10 week from ordering to delivery. They had the car on the Wednesday of week 9 but due to VW finance who were playing silly buggers, the following Tuesday was the best day to collect. Ordered 30th March on the driveway 9th June. I must say these are cracking cars well impressed with it even just being a standard vRS, only option was black pack and I don't see that very often!!

To be honest mate I'm not bothered either, there's that much on it I have to learn already and I don't do many miles so probably wouldn't be in it long enough to benefit/appreciate it!!

Got a good friend to drive me to collect mine, had 11 miles on the clock. Having them driven to you isn't all that bad as long as they don't thrash it.

Well , I measured the screen as requested and give or take it will be the smaller one as I got about 6" corner to corner. Basically it's MIB1 and no smartlink, never mind.

I do have smartgate yes and as per my original post, does smartgate resemble MIB2 or are they completely different?? I don't know as I have had the car for around 8 hours!

I'll check tomorrow Mr Grump but it looks like the standard Amundsen screen, measurements to follow! rob_e- Will do mate

29th March and initially given a build date of W/C 11th May then pushed forward to W/C 4th May. It landed at Simpsons last Wednesday but I hadn't even had the paperwork so bit of a rush job to get collection for today!

Guys, I have posted on other threads with similar topics is Smartgate and MIB2 the same thing or have anything in common?? I only ask as I took delivery today of my new vRS and it has the free Amundsen sat nav upgrade and it has wifi connectivity, please excuse the lack of knowledge!!

Dead easy, the sales guy showed me the additional supplement manual for using it however it's as clear as mud and I'm a bit slow with technology!! He made me aware of it so there should be some form of supporting documentation if you have it but I'm wondering if mine has some managed to sneak in as a MY16?? Who knows!

And finally I have took delivery of my metal grey vRS and am really impressed! Pulls well even when it only had 11 miles on it at the start of my journey home and feels much tighter than my mk2 with gear throw and steering movement. I seem to have this smartgate thingy, is this relatively new on these or has it been around a while and what are the benefits??

Hi, As of today I have been told the car should of been delivered at some point today and collection is next Tuesday( All being well!).

Thanks for the replies guys, managed to make contact and it was Dennis, told my car should be with them today and pick up scheduled for next Tuesday happy days!

The slight drop in compression ratio may be due to slight increase in boost, but as above I'm applying assumption, reasoned assumption mind you

Simpsons Preston/Colne, I had been told via the missus who managed contact a week ago that it was in transit to them and she was told it would be with them either Friday gone or Monday this week. I just need to know roughly where it's at so I can plan ahead due to work commitments. They said I should have the paperwork which I don't so just trying to get answers from them!! One of my original queries was how long from when they get it until they contact you to organise collection, if anyone knows that would be great.

It will just be the 170CR lump which is still the physical make up of the engine as they obviously only got another 14BHP from it to create the 184. Anyhow as above really, shouldn't be too much physically different as most tuners could get another 34BHP from a map alone quite easily.

As I said the contact I had is on holiday until the 8th June and the last contact from a lady said the car should be with them either Friday last week or Monday this week. My work pattern is all over the place at the moment but I'm off this weekend so working off the info given I would of liked to collect this weekend but so far this week can' t seem to get any answers, all I want to know is has the car has landed as I have had no paperwork through yet either which I was informed would be around 2 weeks before they got the car. After this weekend it gets annoying as it could be a few weeks with it just sat there. It's OK I'll just have to keep trying them

* Thread revival*! I'm having trouble getting any useful information out of the people at Simpsons Skoda so can anyone who has successfully taken delivery of an Octavia vRS on this deal, please can you let me know who you spoke to and how long it took from them receiving the car until you could take delivery?. Twice now I have been waiting on a phone call that never came and the guy I was dealing with is on leave until the 8th June, I have also tried emails via several addresses but no joy again. I have been sort of led to believe that the car should be with them now and was hoping on collecting this Saturday but that now seems very unlikely!! I know there are other threads with similar posts about this deal however this was the most obvious one to ask for help rather than post in every one I could remember! Thanks in advance Steve

5 days, just 5 small days and I should be going to collect mine!! Glad I went for the metal grey looking at those pics!!
